My boyfriend and I LOVEEEE coming here, it's pretty much our go to spot already. PORTIONS ARE HUGE. We also have to get leftover boxes every time. I have been trying to try everything on their menu but every time I go the meat jun is calling my name !!! It's soooo good. In my opinion it's made a little different than local places, it's a bit more sweet which makes its so damn good. I've also tried their cold buckwheat noodles which is so refreshing. I have a hard eating the noodles but I think it's suppose to be like that lol. i've seen people cut their noodles but i'm always scared to ask for scissors haha. But I 10/10 recommended! We've recently tried their chicken katsu which came out so good!! I believe if you like your katsu more soft like some other local restaurants i suggest ordering something else. I liked the texture because it had a more crunchy outside. but my boyfriend wished it was softer, so it's definitely a preference. All in all, I love this place. Located at the ground floor of the Azure building, from talking to the owner, you can park at the retail parking of the building Azure and walk down. Just drive up the ramp from Keeaumoku Street. Inside the restaurant is nice and clean, typical Korean food, tasty and food size portion, it is also BYOB, so we brought our own wine. read more

I love their food here, but service isn't the greatest and it's a little pricey. Keep in mind though it's supposed to be served like family style. There's free parking within the building and take the elevator down. It's on the first floor. read more

Rainy Saturday night so sent Hubby for take out at Ireh since we are in the neighborhood. Easy to order online, they said 25 minutes and it was as the place was hopping with lots of dining in and taking out going on. We had ttkeokbokki with chewy noodles and kalkuksu with chicken. I have to be honest. We each tried one bite and then the others and decided to call it a day. We didn't care for the aroma, the flavors and the broth was way way off. The tteokbokki had a very heavy anchovy scent and flavor and we didn't like the taste of the entire thing, not even to finish a 2nd bite. I am going to say that everyone has a preference for their favorite foods and for us, this place misses on so many counts. For great tasting and complex broth, my vote is with Korea Garden and their Kalbi Tang is outstanding. For mul nangmyeon, cold noodles, YuChun is the winner with their bright and tangy broth. I still haven't found a good Mundoo soup broth to my liking but am still looking. All the old Korean places used to do everything well, but now it is harder to find consistent, authentic and complex flavors that take a long time to develop. Sorry, Ireh. I'd like to start off by saying I really loved this place. Eating here gave me such a warm, comforting feeling & would always make my days better. The service was always amazing. Which is why I didn't want to leave a bad review & wanted this handled internally. I ate there on Tuesday 5/21/24, my husband ordered the mandoo soup. We didn't finish it so we took the rest home. I heated it up the next day and took a small bite of the mandoo and the whole thing unfolded not only the meat inside but a giant fly that was cooked in it.. I called the restaurant the next day wanting to talk to the manager directly to let him know so it doesn't happen to the next person who orders this dish. He wasn't in yet so I told one of the girls over the phone & she got my information and told me her manager would contact me. It's been about a week now & I didn't receive a call nor do I want to be contacted at this point. I understand things like this happen, but at the end of the day I feel like this traumatic experience wasn't really acknowledged by the restaurant to where a simple apology was given. I used to love going to the McCully location with friends. So, when I saw they reopened in a brand new location, I made sure my next luncheon was there. Luckily, I have friends who love to eat Korean food. Hahha. Located in the brand new Azure condominiums directly across from Walmart and next to the Samsung Plaza on Keeaumoku St. The restaurant is located on the bottom floor on the corner of the intersection. If driving, enter the parking structure, go up the ramp and that floor is visitors parking. Make sure to go down the correct set of elevators, as one side is for residents and the other is for store fronts. Just take the elevator down, exit the doors on the left and the entrance is right there on right. Space is about as big as the old location, but I don't remember the tables being so small. Hahha. But they also have some outdoor dining seats if you prefer that. Menu is straight forward with Korean and English translation. I was greeted with a cup of boricha (barley tea) which hit the spot perfectly as it was a cold day. Boricha brings back childhood memories and I love drinking it hot or cold. As my friend arrived shortly after me, we quickly decided what to eat. Decided on the tteokbokki w/cheese, beef bibimbap and a seafood pancake all to share. Bibimbap came out first. Their version is a little different from others as they pair it with lettuce, cucumber, cabbage and daikon instead of your typical banchan. It's much lighter this way. Not very much meat comes with it, so if you're looking for that, order a side of meat or wings to eat with. You add your own kochujang, so you can make it as spicy as you'd like. Tteaokbokki came next and it was filled with tons of mozzarella. Besides the mochi, it comes with fish cake, onions and a hard boiled egg. The lady noticed I kept looking up so she asked if we were missing anything... which would be our pancake. She was apologetic and it came out shortly after. Nicely crispy on the outside. Perfect comfort food for this Korean! Place gets super busy during peak dining times. So just be aware. Lots of take out orders too being pushed out while we were there. But you know it's legit when the whole place is filled with Koreans! read more

My absolute fave when it comes to authentic Korean home style cooking. I love the family run atmosphere and the food doesn't miss. I swear I come here at least twice a month Fave: rappokki with cheese. (Teokk with ramyeun +cheeeeeese) Discovered the ireh chicken wings and I can't go there without ordering it now. I heard really good things about Ireh, so I had to try it! I went with a group of 11 people and made phone reservations. It wasn't super crowded when we went, but the restaurant is pretty small, so it was good I called ahead of time. One of the girls goes here pretty frequently, so she took care of the ordering. We ordered family style and got a variety of dishes. My favorite was the kalbi and mandoo though! The kalbi was super flavorful and fell right off the bone. We also got kimchee fried rice, tteokbokki, and a dish with noodles and beef. I love the variety of food here and how delicious everything was. It was about $20 a person after tax and tip. Note that if you're coming with a large party, there is an automatic 18% tip. We accidentally tipped twice, but the waiter was super kind and refunded it for us. There's a parking lot, which was empty when we went. The stalls are kind of small though. The bathrooms are on the second floor, but the restaurant is on the first. read more

One of the best chive/seafood pancakes we've ever had! We tried the perilla handcut noodles. Very different than any other noodle dish, in both texture and flavor. It wasn't spicy and we ate every bit of it. Meatjun was pretty good, though I expected more steak flavor from ribeye. The two bancahn was tasty and they cook rice perfectly! We ordered the bulgogi bibimbap. This wasn't served in a hot stone bowl so it was more of a loaded salad with all of the fresh, seasoned vegetables. The sauce was delicious, the few pieces of beef were lovely, though few. The grapefruit honey tea was super delicious! I enjoyed the yuzu honey tea as well. Free parking. Customer service was very poor today! And I mean poor! We sat down 15 mins before a crowd came in and ordered less then 5 mins of sitting so you would think our food which was simple (meat jun and Tile "grilled" fish and pan fried Mandoo) would be say 20-25 mins max. Tell me why our food came out after two tables that ordered chicken and kal bi (party of 4/5) came out before ours?!? Yeah they were Korean and were local sitting in the corner of the restaurant! They did not ask if we were ok until we were nearly done with our food! Our food was probably sitting on a heat lamp. Luckily our food was still good. We've been here a few times already and never in those few times they treated us as if we're nonexistent! read more

The food there is tasty and has a hefty portion for the price they offer for each dishes. Everytime I go with my family and friends, I will always get their Meat Jun. The restaurant has its free parking in the Azure Building, and the service there is also very exceptional. I am totally biased because this has been my go to place for years. The service is quick and efficient. The food is always great and I would definitely recommend bringing friends to share different dishes. It's also a good spot to come alone, but you'll probably have some left overs. I know that the sauces are made from scratch. However, most Koreans are likely tuned to the flavor given by ready-made foods. So if it falls short of this, then it isn't tasty or gòod. Had no plans for dinner so we decided to walk around and am so happy we stumbled upon this restaurant. They opened in October so it's a brand new building with convenient parking and clean restrooms. Amazing! Even the banchan was really good. I got the Cold Bean Noodle Soup (Kongguksu). It was a hot day and I wanted something to cool down. It was my very first time trying this dish anywhere. I've seen it on a Korean TV show and it looked hella good. The white soup/broth is a chilled soybean milk broth. It's nutty....literally, the flavor of the broth has like peanuts or some sort of nuts blended in it. A little creamy, but not thick. It's not sweet or neither salty. It's really good if you want something cold, refreshing, and filling. My son had the chicken katsu and it was really really good too. Ratio of batter/breading to chicken was perfect. The katsu sauce isn't like other katsu sauces that are ketchupy and tangy. The katsu sauce hit different, but in a really good way. The other dish we ordered was the meat jun. the flavor on it was so good....probably cause it's made from ribeye. It wasn't overly eggy and had great flavor. My husband said it was a little sweet for him, but just right for me. The jun sauce was delicious too, a teeny bit sweet, but just right. The final thing we ordered was the fried chicken wings. It looks spicy, but it wasn't. Like, sometimes spicy wings can be hard to enjoy cause it's too spicy, but this one wasn't. It was really tasty and crunchy, even with it sauced up. Man, everything was 10/10 in my opinion. Now, they forgot to put in our order for the chicken wings. We ended up reminding them when we were just about done with our food. They made it right away and was apologetic. Instead of making up excuses about why it hasn't come out, she just took accountability and said sorry they forgot. She apologized a few times. It was obvious that English isn't their first language, they spoke and understood English just fine. Even though the prices are a bit on the higher side, the portions are bigger. Was craving some authentic Korean food so we decided to check this place out! We ordered the spicy pork tteokboki, kimchi seafood pancake, bulgogi, and chicken jook. All the food came out hot and fresh. My favorite was the spicy pork tteokboki. The sauce was flavorful and coated the rice noodles nicely. The pork was tender as well. The kimchi seafood pancake was delicious as well, but could have had a little more seafood in my opinion. Overall the food was tasty and the servers were all attentive and kind. Whenever we came here the food is usually great especially the service. But recently attending, we would raise our hands (out of respect) when we needed help or wanted to order something but the once who served us our food never helped us when my partner and I patiently waited. There were two running the floor, but they would assist the once around us. Ofc I understand it can be busy and we respect that considering we've worked in the same position so we know the experiences as well, but when they look at our table multiple times, they never approached us. This is unrelated, but the environment wasn't too great either because there were looks and whispers when my partner and I were just enjoying the food. I still give it 3 stars because of the food but besides that it was probably just the wrong day to come in. read more

My friend Akane and I traveled to South Korea recently and we were missing some authentic Korean food--hence we decided to try out Ireh! Especially in their new location in the Azure building. They have parking on the second floor which doesn't need validation and then you just take an elevator down to the bottom to walk out of the structure and into Ireh. It's giving me the same building structure set up you have to do when you try to go to raising canes on University. We got seated immediately and signaled to the servers we were ready for menus. They came promptly and gave us a good amount of time to look over things before taking our order. We got the cold buckwheat noodles, bibimbap, and their Korean fried chicken. Seemed like a good balance of everything good in Korea. It wasn't long before the food came out. Cold buckwheat noodles first. Then the hot foods. The noodles were chilly and chewy and we were given a vinegar?? Sauce to pair with it. It was my first time trying it tbh and honestly it was pretty good eating cold noodles. Similarly, we had the bibimbap next which we had to mix up with gochujang ourselves. It was a hefty portion of rice and veggies and bulgogi meat--enough to share then have leftovers of after. Finally, came the fried chicken. It was bathed in sweet and savory sauce and my hands were quite messy in attempts to eat the wing dings. I personally enjoyed everything we had as it all had a good consistency of umami, crunchy texture, and just what we were missing from our Korea trip. They gave us cold water, checked on us frequently, and were so polite and kind. They immediately got us another bottle of cold water when we ran out of the first one. Food: We got meat jun, sundubu/soft tofu soup, and tteokbokki. The meat jun was crispy and delicious, the soft tofu soup was comforting and also delicious, and the tteokbokki was our favorite! We got cheese tteokbokki and the sweet cheese mixed with the spicy sauce was our personal favorite. Their kimchi tasted fresh, light, and homemade. We ended our dinner with Yuzu tea - sweet, comforting, and a great way to settle the stomach. This ended up being my favorite Korean restaurant on O'ahu - definitely recommend! Nice and clean environment. Although that night had a long wait time but worth the wait for the food. Wish the kimchee side dishes they gave could've had a little bit more variety. Otherwise the entree part was very good. Got this chive pancake that had seafood in it and it was nice and hot. The flavors blended well together for my preference. Their meat jun was very tasty. On our most recent trip to Oahu my friend took my daughter and I as well as her own kids to Ireh restaurant for the first time. The service was quick and the staff was friendly, it is a smaller quaint restaurant with limited seating but so worth the short wait. The restaurant is very clean and hygienic and played upbeat kpop music which created a great atmosphere. Our kids split the chicken Katsu as it was large enough to feed the three of them, we also tried the meat Jun which I highly recommended along with the kimchi fried rice and cheese tteokbokki which had the tastiest sauce and softest rice cakes.
