A perfect late night spot...located across the street from 24 hour fitness and in front of Femnu on Kapiolani blvd. We called in ahead of time and they were able to accommodate our party of 10 and we arrived at 10:30pm. We were greeted warmly and immediately received water for the table. Drink orders were put in right away as we perused the menu. A really good friend of mine is an expert orderer and I'm glad we went with her picks. My favorite part of Korean BBq is the banchan. We were practically fighting over the kimchi it was that good. The rest of the banchan was just as delicious, fresh, and authentically prepared. Let's talk about the pancake most people would go with the kimchi pancake but we tried the crispy, cheesy potato pancake dipped in the sauce provided and it's golden. The yakiniku meat selection was excellent. Every cut we tried was tender and full of flavor. You could really taste the quality. Moving on to the pork soup this is a must try that's all I'll say. The place is clean and nicely lit, I love a place that's jumping and seems like everyone is happy enjoying their meal. I look forward to trying more on the menu.

This place is legit good! They give generous serving of everything down to the ban Chan! Crazy pricey for everything tho. $30plus for each meat entree and the sides for for an average of $14. The old saying goes you get what you pay for and the quality of the meets were good and the chef did a great job of preparing the food. Even the seafood pancake was excellent chock full of squid and Korean green onion as well as red peppers. There was a surprise jalapeño peppers in there so beware. We rolled up at about 5pm on a Friday but the parking can be tight cuz it's located right next to a strip club and you have to share the parking with their customers. Nevertheless. This place was CLEAN and no crazy Smokey air or greasy floors. The food came out quick and the service was super friendly!

Service is above and phenomenal here!! I love how they cut the meats for you, and they even grill the fried rice for you. I like how the meats come pre-70% cooked before they bring it out to grill in front of you. The banchan is very good and the fried rice at the end is amazing!! Water is filtered, which I love. They have parking in the front and the back. There are a lot of tables and this is good for a late night spot to eat vibe. This tastes very authentic Korean. In addition, the workers speak Korean and English. The ice cream is very tasty as well.

Right next to Femme Nu. Few parking stalls right in front of the restaurant. Menu is a little pricey but the portion sizes were decent. 2 meat portions were enough for me and another person. They do give side vegetables. Quality of the meat was excellent. You can tell you're getting what you're paying for. Service was excellent. Staff helps cook and serve in the beginning. The restaurant wasn't too smoky. I didn't feel like I smelled like the restaurant coming out. Open late, which is a plus. I will be back!

Big let down. Big fan of kbbq and went to try since they opened down 10 min walk from where we live. And they "specialize" in gopchang. They did a new opening since the old kbbq, and the old tables and chairs remain with stained cushions, greasy tables, and it just felt like an old space inside and they just put in tables. Oh, we got an egg-crusted spoon. Still to this day, I don't get how they miss this. Service was subpar, the waiter would dab up his buddies then serve us, went to his buddies tables, etc. inconsistent. The female staff was great checking in and cutting our meat, etc as they normally do. As pictured, that's a $43 beef brisket, normally a cheap cut of meat for kbbqs. They stuck "prime" in there and there was nothing prime about this. Chewy and didn't taste at all fresh. Onions and other vegetables? Look like a neglected dried up vegetables in my fridge. They didn't cut the end of the onion off, so when I flipped it the other end was pointy (falling rose petal emoji) Big intestine has a funky taste, which when cleaned thoroughly it's not supposed to have. Inconsistent cook, and honestly exudes greed from this place. Checking off places to not visit in Oahu. So far the number one contender is the Hangang kbbq and it doesn't even come remotely close. You go to kbbq for good food, convenience, and vibes. I'd rather have kbbq at home than come here again.

Moon Korean BBQ is a late night KBBQ restaurant on Kapiolani Blvd, across from the 24Hr location. It was my first time going and I liked the lively atmosphere and quick service to get seated. Their signature Intestine special was unique and had rare cuts of meat like small and large intestines. We ordered their medium size, which comes with 3 choices of meat, assorted banchan, and an option at the end to do fried rice or chaphagetti noodles. It looks small, but because intestines are rich and fatty, the 3 of us couldn't finish it all. I would say 4 people would be the right amount for the intestine special! Overall, I thought the food was good. It can get pricey, expect about $40/person. A great late night option for KBBQ.

Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... Moon Korean BBQ is a hot new business! It's clean and modern inside with a private party room and convenient restroom. There are free parking stalls right outside the restaurant on Kapiolani Boulevard (near the Convention Center). Service was efficient and helpful. My friend wanted to order takeout for her sister, so the server came back and took the order later on the portable charge card machine. I got the Lunch Special Combo: LA Kalbi with cold noodles. Maybe I should have gotten bulgogi instead of kalbi because it had an oddly tart taste. The noodles were good and chewy! This was a good experience except for the loud music. The air conditioning was much appreciated!

Jjapaghetti at the end. You add it to the order and they'll give it to you at the end on the grill. Yum

Finally an authentic gopchang kbbq place in Hawaii!!! This place is legit, authentic Korean gopchang style, ambiance with excellent service. Food was absolutely delicious!! The steam egg was made perfectly and not too salty. My toddler really liked it. The kimchi was so delish we asked for a refill! We got the Medium size gopchang combo: Small intestine, large intestine, and tripe. Served with garlic, pineapples, enoki and king trumpet mushrooms, and thick slices of potatoes all prepared on the grill, you just wait for it to all cook and eat together. Next time, we are trying their other meats and stew dishes!!

We walked in without reservations at about 5 pm on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. The staff were friendly, efficient and came and went frequently. After we ordered, they were nice enough to relocate us to a bigger table, due to the big back order we placed. We came in feening for intestines after not having anything of this style on island, like we've had in Los Angeles or Korea. We also got a side order of pork jowl, mandoo and yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and honestly, it was too much food. Ajumma cooked all the intestines for us, and towards the end you can choose to do fried rice or noodles. We saved some of the intestines and pork jowl to mix it into the fried rice. Both of these hit. Max joy. The only let down was the yukhoe (Korean beef tartare). It was still partially frozen, which is fine, but it just lacked seasoning. The main attraction is the intestines so this is an easy pass Overall, would definitely come back for the intestines and definitely late night with soju.

Moon Korean BBQ is a must-visit spot for incredible Korean beef intestines! Crispy on the outside, rich on the inside, and has zero gamey taste, the meat is grilled right at your table as they torch it for you. They also have an overflowing amount of complimentary banchan (side dishes), including fluffy steamed egg, tangy garlic chives, kimchi, and pickled perilla leaves that pairs perfectly. It was truly a great experience!

Finally a good gopchang place! Workers were really nice, food was great, and also love the layout of the restaurant. Felt like I left Hawaii for a bit and ate in Korea. Don't forget the fried rice at the end

So many of the Korean restaurants in Honolulu have servers who are actually mean to the customers and we now refuse to give them our dining dollars. The more modern Korean restaurants are providing much better customer experiences so that a customer becomes a life-long customer who spreads the word to family and friends and who keeps coming back for life. The restaurant gives off Korean pub vibes, decently sized, and best suited for smaller groups. We ordered a variety of food: chicken combo, kimbap, bulgogi, bossam, and spicy rice cakes. We went with the Prix Fixe Menu of the 9 courses, for $70 per person. First we were given the banchans. They have A LOT and I love banchans so it was a great start to the meal. I wonder if you could get refills on the banchans like many other KBBQ spots... I didn't get the chance to find out as I was STUFFED by the end of my meal. The steamed egg also came fairly fast, they offered to serve it for us which we took up on that offer. Then we also received the kimchi pancake. Here is what I'd note, I am a bit confused on the portion sizes. As the prix fixe menu is per person, shouldn't the dishes and servings per person? Like why would the kimchi pancake be one and shared between two? As well as the egg? We then got all of the various cuts of the meats. Everything was good and quite enjoyable. We also had a choice between soup (soybean or tofu) and cold noodles (reg or spicy). We both chose the spicy cold noodles. It was very good and a refreshing side to pair with the KBBQ. We were honestly stuffed by the end of our meal and enjoyed it all. Despite my slight concern/confusion regarding the serving/pricing, I would possibly come back. Although I usually go for an AYCE kbbq spot as it is definitely more worth it value wise.

We are extremely disappointed with our recent experience…read more We've been loyal customers and typically eat here twice a week whenever we're on assignment on the island in the last five years. We have also left two previous positive reviews because we've genuinely enjoyed the food and wanted to support this small business. Earlier this week, we ordered the bulgogi for our kids, but the meat was too chewy and tough making it inedible. Wanting to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, we ordered the bulgogi again the following day and even requested it be cooked well done. Unfortunately, it had the same too chewy and tough texture, and again, could not be eaten. After feeding the kids something else, bathing them, and putting them to bed, I called the restaurant around 10:00 p.m., but they had already closed. I called the next day, and the owner (a lady with glasses) returned my call. Instead of listening to my concerns, she repeatedly interrupted me and spoke in a passive-aggressive, dismissive manner. I was on speakerphone with four other adults in the car, and everyone commented on how unhelpful and condescending the conversation felt. I explained that I wasn't calling simply to complain - I wanted to share feedback because we genuinely care about the restaurant and have supported it for a long time. I even mentioned that I had previously provided constructive feedback about the takeout bowls, which the restaurant later improved. Before I could finish, she cut me off and said, "We're not talking about the to-go bowls right now, are we? We're talking about your bulgogi." She insisted that if I wanted a refund, I needed to return to the restaurant in person, and that if something was wrong in the future, I should come back immediately so they could remake it. Unfortunately, that's simply not realistic for us. We're staying in a hotel with two young children, and the restaurant is about 40 minutes away. By the time we discovered the problem, got the kids settled, and called, making another round trip would have meant roughly 80 minutes of additional driving with tired, hungry children. I understand that mistakes happen, and I wasn't expecting perfection. What disappointed me most was how the concern was handled. This business does not value customer feedback and will never first listen respectfully, even from repeat customers who have consistently supported and recommended them. Sadly, based on this experience with both the food quality and the customer service, we won't be returning.

The premium AYCE option is around $60 per person, which would be reasonable if the quality matched the price. Unfortunately, it doesn't. We're from the Bay Area and have been to countless Korean BBQ restaurants with significantly better meat quality for the same price or less. To make matters worse, even at the highest-priced AYCE tier, fountain drinks aren't included. What really left a bad impression was the automatic 20% gratuity. Our group consisted of two separate parties of three people each. We were seated together at one large table with two grills, but we had separate bills, ordered different AYCE meats option, didn't share food, and made that CLEAR before ordering. The menu states that automatic gratuity applies to parties of five or more, yet we were still charged because we happened to sit together. Had we known this was their policy, we would have chosen another restaurant or sat at different areas of the restaurant. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because our servers were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions about the menu and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Unfortunately, when we brought the gratuity issue to the manager, he insisted we were one large party despite us being separate parties with separate orders and separate checks. At the end of the day, the only difference was that we happened to be sitting at the same table. Overall, the service from the staff was great, but the overpriced food, disappointing meat quality, and questionable gratuity policy make it hard for me to recommend this place.
