My parents have used Ierna's for years. When I purchased my first home I needed service on my AC. They came out on a Saturday; the person on the phone explained the different prices for emergency calls in the weekend versus a scheduled repair. My AC unit ended up needing to be replaced and I purchased through them on the spot. As a result the service tech did not charge me for his visit and I was scheduled to have a new AC installed 2 days later. Several days after it was installed I realized there was a strange noise, a vibration between the unit and duct work. Ierna sent another tech out and the issue was resolved and did not charge for this follow up. All of the service techs have been friendly and explain what/why they are doing. Today I'm calling for their plumbing services...my shower drain full of hair will be a true test of their stamina ;-) So far, great company! read more

Previously, I would have given IERNA's a high rating, but today I am LIVID! 9 month's ago we purchased a $9,000 air conditioning unit from IERNA's and today in 90-degree weather ( heat index of 99 degrees), it decided to freeze up and quit working. We called IERNA's this afternoon at 2:58 pm and was told it would be after 6 pm before they could come out. At close to 8 pm, the technician arrived. After diagnosing the problem, we were told that it was a faulty part and it would have to be replaced. Sounds like a simple fix, right? WRONG!! The part cannot be ordered until the business opens tomorrow. The arrival of the part could potentially take up to 3 days. My husband is a cardiac patient and this heat could actually land him in the hospital. With this in mind, my husband said that we wanted IERNA's to get us a hotel/motel room. The technician talked to his boss, who in turn talked to his boss (you know, the old car salesman scheme) and we were informed that they would not pay for a hotel room. I do not feel that we should have to pay for a hotel room, for potentially 3 days, due to a faulty air conditioning unit that we already paid $9,000 for. Not only is my husband's health at risk, but I am a night shift nurse and I sleep in the daytime. I am not sure how I am going to sleep in a 90+ degree house during the day. I can understand if this was an OLD unit, but it is basically a new system, still under warranty. IERNA's customer service is non-existent! I can only pray that my husband makes it through this unscathed and that I can get enough sleep so that my patients do not suffer from my lack of sleep and heat exhaustion. Updated 10/5/21 - Changed to 3 stars because they eventually did the right thing. They replaced the outdoor condenser unit (and installed a new UV light on the head unit) under warranty. I essentially paid $768 for a whole new system. Only got 4 years out of the original system, but hopefully no more issues for a long time. We've used Ierna's for service/maintenance for about 6-7 years now I believe. The techs have mostly been great, on time, respectful and able to do the work. The reason I struggle to recommend Ierna's at this point is the utter debacle we've had with our mini-split unit. Here's a shortened timeline of the events since Google won't allow me enough space: 5/18/17 - Install mini split system = $5557 8/25/17 - Had to swap out original unit with a bigger one because it wasn't cooling the room (Ierna's miscalculated the size needed) = $300 to put in the larger unit 8/28/17 - Leak 5/19/19 - More leaking 7/13/19 - Coil leaking. Replaced coil = $480 2/27/21 - More leaking 3/9/21 - More leaking = $288 3/17/21 - More leaking 3/26/21 - More leaking 4/23/21 - Leak AGAIN. Found copper line set to be defective/rotted. Apparently this was a known issue, but no tech had ever thought to check this. It's quite possible all the issues we've had over the past 4 years were caused by or a symptom of this major defect. Replaced = $200 (labor only) 4/26/21 - Leaking again. Ben had to come out and have the installers redo their work. 8/9/21 - Leaking again. Tech said it was the coil, which was just replaced 2 years ago (which was replaced 2 years after the original install). Coil most likely damaged by the constant leaks from the bad copper. I signed a proposal (that said $1100) to get the part ordered, but was reassured that the company would call me about the cost because they knew that wasn't right (I assumed at this point Ierna's would cover the cost for this). 8/18/21 - Ben came out to take a look (he seemed genuinely upset by the situation). He agreed it was the coil that went bad again, but his opinion was to replace the whole head unit to be sure because it was possible that other parts of the unit had suffered due to the prolonged and unaddressed issue with the bad copper lines. Also spoke to Jeremy at Ierna's on the phone who said he was going to speak with the management team and figure out how to get this done without us incurring much cost. 9/21/21 - Got a call from Ierna's that the parts were in and they could install on Monday. 9/22/21 - More leaking, tech came out to top off refrigerant. 9/27/21 - Techs showed up with a new head unit to my surprise. I was expecting just the coil. I called to make sure this was correct and was told they decided to install a new head unit because the coil was still back ordered. However, she mentioned the cost of $1100 would remain the same. WHAT?! I wasn't expecting to be out of pocket at all. I spoke to Jeremy again and agreed to pay $768 since it was a whole new head unit and warranty (even though I had essentially paid $5857 + $970 in repairs (not including the $1240 for the cleaning and UV light) for the original system... and only got 4 years out of it. The outside condenser will hopefully last a few more years. To add insult to injury, after the techs installed the new unit (which took the majority of the day), it would not work. They eventually figured out that they would need a new control board for the outside unit so the new head unit could communicate with it (since it was a newer model, I guess there was a compatibility issue). I was also informed that the $750 UV system I had them install in February was not transferable to the new unit. I assume they will come back to install a new one without charging me. 9/29/21 - Spoke with Ierna's to get an update on the parts needed and was told there is not ETA yet. So, currently the temp in our bonus room is about 95 degrees or more and unusable until Ierna's gets the parts they need to make the new unit work. read more

Have held a service agreement with Ierna's for several years. Recently has an outage on my AC. Scheduled service, Joe showed up on time, ready to get to business! He ran diagnostic tests on several sections of our system. Just when things seemed like it could have been a BIG deal, Joe didn't give up and pulled deep from his knowledge of HVAC to determine a bad connection in our thermostat was to blame. #Honesty He could have sold me anything in the truck to get my system up and running. To boot, because of the service service contract I purchase through Ierna's my bill was $0.00 ZERO! AC went out last Wednesday. My Lucky day that Joe was on call. He came out around 10 o'clock at night and fixed the problem. Joe gets five stars, but the reason for four is due to the initial installation. When the unit was installed the fuse was not upgraded from 35 to 50 amp. That has put a lot of stress on my unit over the last few years, which has caused problems and multiple trips out from technicians. Joe was the only one that noticed the error and fingers crossed I won't have anymore problems moving forward. read more

My wife and I had just purchased a house in April. We were told, in June, by our insurance company that we would need to replace the duct work for our air conditioning and have it reinspected or they would drop us. I searched through the Yelp reviews to find an AC company that seemed fair and reasonable. I decided on Ierna. My experience with the company is a bit of a mixed bag. First, the good. I called about the job and Ierna came out and gave me an estimate the same day. They scheduled it for the following business day. The job, as far as I could tell, was done right. They were very forthright with what they were doing and why. Their descriptions and explanations were echoed by our home inspector (who was not related to them in any way). The company did not try to sell us additional items even though, as new home owners, they probably could've gotten away with it. The employees who put in the duct work noticed some of our vents were backwards and they came in and fixed them in no time. They were also very careful to clean up most of the mess that leaked into our house from the attic. The two of them also insisted that I go up and check their work to make sure that it met my satisfaction (not that I had any idea what I was looking for). What was the bad? Well, mainly the price. Here's what I mean. We were quoted a price the first day that included two days worth of labor. He explained that it could be hot. The employees may need to go up and down frequently to keep from passing out. Fair enough. I'm all about paying people for the work that they do especially in the extreme heat of summer. The guys who arrived the next day and installed our duct work were very efficient workers. They installed the duct work, cleaned their mess, switched around the vents and headed out the door in less than four hours. Yet the price was the same as the estimate even though it took far less time and the two day labor was installed as part of the estimate. Maybe this is normal, I mean as I mentioned above I am new to this whole owning and fixing a house kind of stuff, but that just seemed a little off. read more

Would not recommend! OVERPRICED WITH SHADY MORALS. They were called out to my moms house for the AC unit not blowing cold air sometimes. Technician stated the compressor needed to be replaced but could do a two week temp repair for $650 and these temp repairs consisted of replacing the capacitor and the hard start.... Knowing those two parts could not cost any more than $60 total and that it's not just a "two-week temporary repair" I advise my mother to have them leave. After the technician left the unit wouldn't even start so I went over to look at the unit and found components were completely missing out of the unit. The capacitor and hard start were gone... the technician never put it back in the unit which in my opinion was shady since the unit still worked on and off. I feel he stole parts to make the unit 100% disabled so she would be forced into a $650 "temp repair" while the compressor was being ordered. Also the compressor job was quoted at $3,300 which is insane for a 3.5 ton unit. Technician was called back to return the parts but claims it was only the capacitor he took.... he also admitted that he did the $650 work without approval so when my mom denied it he went back to the unit and removed his new parts but never put our old ones back in. I have been a long term client of iernas, for years I also maintain a yearly maintenance contract with them that includes 2 maintenance visits per year and having priority in case of an emergency. On July 4 2023 at approximately 4:30 my a/c stopped working. Lat maintenance done in April, 2023. The cost of the contract is $180.00. per year. When I called on the 4th, I was sent to the customer relations center IN COLORADO. After giving Amanda @Iernas all the aforementioned info and I needed emergency service, she informed me the soonest they could come would be on 7/12/23, 8 days without a/c in Tampa, Fl. at 100+ degrees. I them found another company REM HVAC.who were timely, professional and thorough as well as nice. I am now in a frustrating telephone games/turnarounds to get a refund for the test of this year. The wo!an who. Is the customer relations manager is located in Colorado and despite me calling numerous times to speak with her about the tefund, I am told she is unavailable and will call me back. I'm still waiting. My next call is going to Better call Behnken/WFLA. In essense, do not employ this company. They were really good until they sold out to Ship point Holdings, now they are crappy. I've had great service through Ierna's. They installed a 4ton heat pump package unit (Bryant) but it blew a hole in the coil right at 2 yrs old also the electric auxiliary heat didn't work right. It is still under warranty so the parts were covered but there was a service fee. They ordered the parts and fixed it up as soon as parts came in. Jake installed the coil and did a very professional job. He knew his stuff, was thorough and I could tell he was and proud of his profession. In the past I would've given them five stars for the three systems they had installed for my home of last few years. I recommended them to my mother-in-law Who also lives in Lutz. The air on her five-year-old Home had gone out. The service tech that came out told her that they didn't even make the unit that she had anymore and it would need to be replaced. After just a little research with the builder I found that not only did they still make that unit it has a lifetime warranty on it. I've used Ierna for 7 years, pay for the 2 year maintenance service. Yesterday the tech was scheduled to come between 2-4 ,calls me at 4:15 & said he would arrive in 45 minute- not convenient! The office called me 10 minutes later to reschedule but could not fit me in before the closing on my house. I explained to the scheduler that I have a contract in which now I am losing 1 entire year on because they can't come- her response-- sorry she can't do anything about it. How about sending the tech out 1 st thing in the AM ? How about a partial refund for my maintenance contract? How about transferring my contract to my new home?? Nothing-- just sorry. I bought a new 2.5 Ton 14 Seer Goodman AC unit Model #GSZ140301 & ARUF31B14 Serial #1608339135 & 1604046259 on 9/16/2016 for $3939.75 from Patrick Kilgannon who specifically recommended this unit for my home and who is still an employee at Ierna Heating and Cooling. At that time the company was called All-Tech Air and Filtration and they have since merged with Ierna Heating and Cooling, keeping many of the same staff from All-Tech including Patrick Kilgannon, the prior owner of All-Tech Air. We began having problems almost immediately, an example of which is shown in the following email exchange (addresses removed) from October 6, 2016 with Jacqueline the office manager at the company which was then called All-Tech Air and Filtration. Nick did what was apparently a simple test of the home's BTU requirements (which should have been done in the first place) and simply told us our new 2.5 Goodman AC unit was too small for the house. He specifically explained that his test showed that the house required an AC unit which put out at least 39,000 BTU and our 2.5 ton AC unit only puts out 30,000 BTU. I told him great, let's get the larger unit in there, fully planning on paying the purchase price difference between the 2 units. Again, Patrick Kilgannon who owned All-Tech Air still works at Ierna Heating and Cooling! I told Nick I would check Florida law with my attorney to see if their refusal to take responsibility was legal and I was reassured by my attorney that in fact Ierna Heating and Cooling DOES have legal responsibility for warranty and product performance issues installed by the company they merged with. read more

They cleaned up everything and left it spotless. They even vacuumed the small amount of dust they made installing new thermostat in house. I am nosy with these kind of things. We moved in to our home about 5 yrs ago and within months needed a new cooling / heating system! We called several companies but found the Ierna's company to give us the most fair price. Also, there was no pushing or hard sales talk. So we had Ierna's install the system and we have been very happy with the heat/ cooling system. But more than the mechanics, the Ierna's office staff and each technician was pleasant, courteous and offered great service. We have the yearly service contract and find that that is the way to go. Recently we had a lightning surge situation. Ierna's was out, quickly assessed the problem and ordered a part. The next day the part was received and installed correctly by Ierna's technician. We are very happy with the quality of the trained technicians and the service they give. Both my husband and I agree that Ierna's is the only company that we will deal with. Do not use this company! We called Ierna's to come out and look at our 3-year old unit which was coming due for a yearly maintenance but more specifically because we were hearing a drip noise coming from the indoor unit. A "repair" tech came on site and spent less than 30 minutes on site. We were told that everything was in great shape and the drip was probably just a little condensation in the indoor unit dripping to the outside. The dripping noise continued for another several weeks and seemed to increase. We called the company again because we were concerned and drip had not existed previously. A couple of days before the appointment, our oak hardwood floors began to buckle and raise need the indoor unit. When the tech came out, he immediately identified the drip was caused because the condensate pipe was clogged. The first tech never even looked at that pipe let alone cleaned it. This oversight resulted in over $2500 in damage to our wood flooring. As a fellow local business owner, I had some association with Charlene Ierna. So, I attempted to reach out to her directly to share the experience. Our intention was simply to inform and to see that the owner was accountable enough in her business to have a conversation about the oversight. Instead of a direct phone call which would have been the end of the incident for us, after several days, we received a call from one of her employees. He attempted to talk in circles, threaten us and abdicate responsibility. It was an appalling response; in my perspective a direct reflection of the company culture and ethics. So, on the counts of both competence and integrity, I give Ierna's Heating and Cooling an "F". read more

I found an ad in a local magazine for a promotion to have an inspection/cleaning for A/C unit for only $29.95. I was skeptical, thinking this was one of those "intro" prices and that later they would try to sell me some costly repair or service. NOPE. First, the person who answered the phone was very polite and had an appointment the next day. The next day the service advisor (Clay) called ahead and let me know he was on the way. Clay was awesome! Checked out the AC handler and Unit, cleaned it up and checked it out. No crazy sales speech, no pressure. Clay was an all around good guy and had a great conversation. IERNA's has SUPERB customer service ! We first called them on a weekday night after not being able to get any help from the company's that advertise that they will be there same day, fast, and at a low price. THAT was NOT the truth. However, I am VERY THANKFUL for that! I found Ierna's on Angies List....I called and on a very hot July night with family visiting with a infant baby, IERNA's CAME WITHIN 15 MINUTES!!! Truth! They did not over charge us and the skilled technician was friendly, polite, knowledgeable and honest. Our whole family was very impressed and pleasantly shocked ;) This happened the next year in July......again Ierna came very quickly...within 20 minutes... and again was just as friendly, polite, knowledgeable and honest. The customer service lady that answered the phone each of the times we called were very pleasant and helpful as well! We had Ierna come service our aging AC the following year. Well this year...again in July our aging 15 year old AC stopped working again. This time on a Saturday...a very hot day. Ierna came, fixed our AC and then answered our questions about getting a new system. Tim was the technician who greeted us and our Boston Terrier once again. He was knowledgeable, and informative. He has never been pushy. He answered our questions about getting a new system to replace our now 15 year old AC system. The price he quoted was totally doable.! We had fear for years having to get a new AC system based on what "others" said it would cost. Much to our relief, the "others" were wrong. Ierna came through for us once again. They came and went above and beyond what we thought they would do. They are truly a customer service oriented company. I would highly recommend them for the needs of your home. You will not be disappointed! They are the best from the first phone call to the completion of a new AC system! We are very happy, very very pleased with the with all their service calls over four years. They came through big time, helping us in a time of need, and very quickly at that! So I had them come check my air out about 2 months ago because it wasn't working. The tech that came out was awesome! He stayed and figured out it was nothing more than a lock out due to several power surges. Then about 3 weeks or so ago it totally stops working. I call and they send a tech out that night who says the blower motor stopped. He gives my husband the quote, we accept and he says they will order the part and get back to us in a couple of days. Now mind you this was in the 26th of June. We have NO air and it Florida!!! I finally give them a call I believe it's July 3, plenty of time to get the part ( I was trying to be patient). NOPE no part! They blame the parts people for whatever reason. I talk to Nicole the manager and she gives me their number to call and try to get the part faster before the holiday. Wait, isn't that her job? My husband called and guess what he is gone for the weekend, surprise! So we go a couple more days NO air! I call again and Nicole says she can have someone out that afternoon! Well thank goodness 10 days later. I just think someone dropped the ball the ordering the part and no one wants to admit it. We have had nothing but trouble with me system that was installed on our new house! Horrible customer service from the owner!

I was promised a technician between 8-10am and by 11:00 am no calls and no technician. I called and they said a called was placed to my number but my phone shows no missed calls. read more
