I first went to the Irepair on Yonge st to replace an LCD screen for my daughters iPod touch. The rep told me to come back in 1 hour 30 minutes. I came back 2 hours later and after paying for parking and walking into store I was told that they had yet to start and come back in another 30 minutes. Next time "Under promise and Over deliver", I was not in a rush and would have come back next day no problem. Next Day I decided to take my iPod to the location on College st. The screen replacement went without a hitch(next day pick up). There is an ongoing problem with the Wifi though. The signal strength is always very weak and the device has to be within a few meters of any router for internet connectivity. I can only assume that something inside was NOT put back together correctly. Upon close inspection the glass does not sit in the Bezel evenly. Can't say enough about how much I love this place. I took my iPhone in to be repaired over the summer; I'd cracked the cover, and thought I'd try to replace it myself. BAD IDEA. I brought in my half-repaired phone and told them the embarrassing truth; they had me fixed up and ready to in minutes, no judgment, and for a fraction of what you'd pay at the Apple store. Recently I knocked a glass of wine on my new (to me) laptop. I originally took it to Computer System Centre at College and Spadina, who told me that it was likely a write-off, as I'd have to replace the logic board. $800 for the board, $90 for the diagnosis. Yikes. Before shelling out close to a month's rent, I thought I'd try my luck at iRepair. First of all, their diagnostic fee is only $30, and is deducted from the cost of your repair. Not only did they choose to REPAIR the logic board instead of replacing it, they gave me several options for how much or how little to repair. In the end, we opted just to fix the broken keyboard, and left the broken trackpad to be fixed another day. $150 compared to $900+? I know where I'm coming from now on... read more

The best bit of all of this is that when I dropped it off the service woman gave me some of the best, most hilarious sass I've gotten in a while. All because I didn't have a case for my iphone. I came here to fix my ipod touch 1st generation. At first I was pretty upset because I didnt hear from them for a few weeks, and when I called to check up, they acted like they had no idea my ipod was even there and the phone number they had put on my file was something TOTALLY different than what I had given them. They said they would call me back the next day and then I didnt hear from them for about 2 more weeks. So why am I giving them 5 stars? you are probably asking yourself. Well, when they did finally call me back, they were super apologetic, they let me know they had tried everything to fix my ipod and they just couldnt. They asked me to come in so they could give me a 2nd gen. ipod touch free of charge because "it's the right thing to do". In my opinion that's true customer service. If you're a freelancer or need your computer for anything urgent do not go here. I got my computer back, and it works now, but the problem is the customer service which is the worst I have ever seen. A two-day repair job became a 9 day wait, with only vague promises of the computer being ready "soon". I had to call, email, Facebook message, and check in at the store almost every day before they even bothered to do my repair. I wasted days of my life that could be spent on doing actual work for my freelance clients. Some of the most inconsiderate human beings I have ever met. No one communicates properly at this store. How hard is it to send a text message, email, or DM? This entire experience ruined my entire week, and I have never been so angry at anyone I have paid to do anything as I was when I sent my computer in for repairs. I had an iPhone 5S whose battery life had depleted over a few years of constant use to a fraction of its original lifespan. You can buy a kit online to replace it yourself for about $30, takes a week to ship from the US, and it's a fiddly, complicated, laborious job that requires good hand-eye coordination, which I do not have. Looking at reviews of the kit, a lot of people manage to do it just fine, but a lot of people manage to break their phone in some substantial way too. Found iRepair.ca on Yelp, seemed most people were happy, so strolled in on a Saturday afternoon. Dropped off the phone and they were done less than 45 minutes later for $50 plus tax - well worth the extra $20 to get it done by a pro on the spot, and my battery life is vastly improved. When the on/sleep switch went on my ancient iPhone 3G, I thought the phone might be toast. That's what happened to my last one... repaired by some other joint. These guys fixed it overnight... and it was fine for a day or so. But then I realized the ringer switch didn't work (the ringer was permanently off) and the sleep switch still wasn't working right. It was a couple of weeks before I was able to get back there. They re-did the repair immediately, while I waited, at no charge. The phone now works perfectly - or at least as well as a 3G can. Took my macbook pro in to get a new keyboard and they ended up selling me a new battery too. Hundreds of dollars, 6 months later and having to go back to them 5 separate times do to different wifi and battery issues that started after the initial repair, I had a working computer... I was only apologized to on the 3rd trip back after being visibly angry and was offered no discount or anything. The worst service experiment of my life. Bad service and over priced! Preposterous! I hardly write any reviews but I feel have to do just this... I wouldn't recommend going to this particular location as I had a very bad experience. Went in for the first time to get my Nexus 4 LCD screen fixed. It took them 3 hours to repair. Whoever was fixing it doesn't seem to know what he/she's doing. I broke my screen 4 times and it doesn't take that long to get it done. For some reason it took that long for them as they're not even that busy. When I got my phone back, it had a defect! I was so frustrated and I went to Stellar Cellphone on College instead to get the job done right. Better service and I fully recommend to go to this place. One thing for sure, never going back to iRepair on College AGAIN! Heed this warning people. Who asks for password JUST to get your screen fix? I wonder. read more

Brought in my iPod, it wasn't syncing at all, told I would be called when the problem was found. Fine. A week goes by, and I hear nothing. So I give them a call, leave a message, asking what's going on. Bear in mind, that at their Yonge Street location, the service has been speedy speedy speedy. Like within 2 days speedy. No one returns my call. So after a week and half, I send them an email...I figure they may check that on occasion. Still no response. It's been two weeks now, and I've heard nothing. I figure...well, if they haven't opened it up, or even figured out what's wrong, I can take it to the Yonge St. location, and have them do it. So I go BACK to the store, and enquire about my iPod. I ask if it's been taken apart, if there's any word on what's wrong with it, etc. The guy at the desk just says it's being looked at, or something along those lines. I inform him that I'm used to the faster service at their Yonge St. location. He says the tech will call me by the end of the day. So I leave...and call the Yonge St. location. They inform me that they can diagnose what's wrong with my iPod in 2 days and get back to me. PERFECT. So I call the College location back (as I'm still in the neighbourhood). I strongly imply that I'm coming back for my iPod (or he got that impression after me bringing up the speed at which the Yonge St. location works, plus my numerous questions about if my iPod is in pieces being looked at, or intact). He then puts the tech on the phone! Apparently, she was there the entire time I was at the counter...she explains what's going on (which is ALL I wanted), and apologizes for not getting back to me. Sooooooooooooooooooooooo....One star for this location. In future, I'll take my Apple products to the Yonge St. location. Have NEVER had a problem there... read more

UPDATE Sept 14 2017: 2 hours after I received my iphone back from iRepair the BATTERY DRAINS VERY QUICKLY. Turned iphone off with power and home button and battery still drains very quickly without constant use. It's a day later and the problem still persists. I'm going to go out on a limb and say perhaps they damaged my battery, or perhaps switched out my battery for a screwed up one. You can never trust the people repairing your iphones, because you don't really know what they are messing around with. I'll say the shady guy taking my order at the counter on Sept 13th 2017 at about 1300hrs had something to do with it; after all he typed the wrong colour of my iphone and expected me to sign the work order. ---- Sept 13, 2017 It's the second time going to IRepair in about 5 years. I went today for a broken 5S screen repair, and they replaced it in about an hour. The screen is not the Apple screen of course, it's cheaper stuff from China, but it does the job adequately enough. It set me back $113.00. Make sure you check the print out they hand you, it had my phone colour listed incorrectly, and I had to point that out to the guy at the cash after I corrected it myself. If you want your iPhone repaired relatively quickly this is the place to go, but you'll pay for it. There are cheaper places that will do as good a job, but not as quickly and not in downtown Toronto. read more

Here's the thing guys: you get what you pay for. From a customer service perspective, these guys are great; helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. That doesn't mean a heck of a lot though when you're out $114 and wishing you had just sucked it up and gone to Apple in the first place. That's where I'm at; my screen broke a few weeks ago and after humming and hawing , I decided to go to irepair.ca instead of pay Apple $179 plus tax for an "out of warranty exchange". BIG MISTAKE! (I ignored my girlfriend's warnings and am now eating a whackload of humble pie mixed with "I told you so" sauce). Soon after the repair was done my phone started behaving very oddly; it would turn itself off several times and the screen would show coloured blotches from time to time. I took my phone back to irepair.ca and they told me that the LCD was broken and that their renowned 6 month warranty wouldn't cover this (I'm not sure how the LCD became damaged since I never dropped the phone in any way). They offered to replace the screen again at a 50% discount but advised that this would be pointless since the issue with my phone turning itself off is likely a motherboard issue, one that can't be fixed. They said this sometimes happens when the screens break; TRUST ME, had they told me this initially, I never would have had them replace the screen; I would have gone straight to Apple and just paid for the exchange. They ended up putting an original (broken) Apple screen on my phone so I could qualify for the exchange and sent me on my way. I am sitting here again, 6 weeks later, with a broken screen, and $114 ($100 replacement fee plus taxes) poorer. Don't make the same mistake I did. Yes, you may save some money in the short term, but it will cost you much more in time, aggravation and money in the long term. You may be lucky and never have an issue, but that is a big gamble and frankly not worth it at all. Pay the extra $80 and go to Apple; at least you know what you're getting and they will take care of you if there is ANY type of issue at all. read more

Very unprofessional behaviour on the part of everyone I encountered there. The people at the desk don't know anything and are literally unable to even sell you a public mobile card because they "don't know how." The technicians are rude and didn't fix my problem, nor were they able to communicate clearly or respond in the amount of time they said they would. I crashed my iPhone screen (5S) on a -20 winter night after dropping the phone. I was really upset because I rely on my phone for so much, and I have had it for four years. Reading about what Apple charges, I was a bit anxious about replacing my screen and what it might cost. I called iRepair and the guy that answered the phone was nice and the price was right. It took one hour and two tries to get the screen replaced but one week later, the phone is back to normal. I paid $100. LIFE SAVERS!!! Recently, my phone died out on me and I went to Apple where they told me that my phone would "never" turn on "ever again" and that I'd need a new phone. I've taken more than our share of iPhones and iPads for screen repairs but never felt inspired to leave a review. The repairs were all fine, but that's what I expect. But when my son had water spill in his bag with his MacBook Air, Apple quoted a $1200 repair. Irepair was able to restore the non-working laptop by cleaning the corroded contacts, replacing one small part, instead of purchasing new logic boards etc. The total came to under $200. How happy are we?! Irepair was fast, kept me informed about the repair and returned it good as new. My only criticism is that it is sometimes hard to reach them by phone. They're pretty busy and sometimes can't answer calls. read more

Absolutely terrible. I sent my MacBook pro into the 4 times spent approx $600 for what I was originally told would be a new logic board. In the last 6 months I have been without my computer for about 80% of it. Every time I send it to them I'm told it was fixed and I'd have no problems. I've now given up hope they even know what theyre doing. I'm a photographer and really need a laptop to do my work. I would never recommend anyone send their apple products here as they won't even respond to me to fix their mistakes now. This is so frustrating and no one else deserves it. Sent in my iPad Air 2 for a broken headphone plug stuck in the headphone jack. I was told it would take roughly a week to replace the headphone jack. I called back after a week and was told that they need to order parts from China which usually takes around 20 days. Waited another three weeks and they had a fix. After bringing the iPad home I found that original Apple earbuds do not work with the new headphone jack. I sent the iPad back for another fix, and after several weeks I called back to hear that they are doing more testing on the device. Some time afterwards I called in again to hear that they need to order more parts from China which would again take 20 days or so. About two months after I called back in and they told me that the iPad was sent to another facility and they will call me back for the current status after a day. I did not hear back from them for a week. When I called back again I was told to expect a callback at the end of day or the next morning. Did not hear from them at either of those two times. Called back again at the end of the next day (6:45PM) and was told that I would hear back from them in 15 mins (they close at 7). Did not get a callback at 7 and called back at around 7:20PM and no one picked up the phone. The next day I got a call saying that the iPad is ready for pick up. Got back the iPad, and I found an obvious dent on the back of the iPad. I have been using the iPad with a hard plastic case since I bought it and they asked to remove it before sending it in. During the first couple of calls with them I was put on hold for about 10 minutes at least three times. I am still glad for them eventually fixing it as I was told (by iRepair) that this is a problem they had never seen on earlier iPads, but I just want to leave my experience here for others' references. read more

I dropped off my iPhone 4S for a cracked screen repair as well as a battery replacement at 11:30am. I came back at 3:30pm and it was ready for me to pick up, screen looking and working good as new! I'll have to see how the battery replacement fares but so far, so good. And they did it at a reasonable price as well! I'd definitely come back, but hopefully not too soon! read more

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful -- and even though they weren't able to repair my (admittedly fried) old iPhone, they tried for a full day -- and charged me NOTHING. These guys are awesome. I am a father, a pet owner, and take pride in my plants, but I am somehow unable to keep my iPhone screen from cracking. Luckily there is irepair.ca.
