BF, BF's parents and I came here after a big hike at Dundee Falls. It was all of our first time here so the owner gave us a little sample of what was available on her menu. Unfortunately, the goat, plantains and snapper were out at the time. I will say that the curry chicken was very good and well cooked. The brown stew chicken was also very good. The ox tail was yum but there was too much bone. I wanted to like the jerk chicken but the skin was too tough and blackened. The taste and spice level were good though. The beef patties were DELICIOUS and perfectly flaky. The filling was seasoned and moist. Best of all, our portions were packed to the brim with food. The owner is so warm, welcoming, generous and lovely. She gave us a free mac n cheese side dish as well! Would love to come back to try the menu items that were unavailable! read more

I've tried a few Jamaican restaurants in the surrounding area, but none compare to her cooking. The food here is absolutely out of this world -- so flavorful and delicious. Took my daughter to try Jamaican food for the first time and was blown away from the moment we walked in. Mrs. Mellisa was so inviting, we were treated like family. She took the time to explain all dishes, ingredients, flavors and then provided samples. We ordered the Jerk chicken, brown chicken and ox tail. Me being a first time customer I was excited because my friend has been talking about how good the food taste. The owner became upset and made a smart remark that if I don't like beans and rice I can push it to the side while rolling her eyes and said jeez it's not that hard. That offended me because I deal with professionals and business owners on a daily basis. Instead of the owner having an attitude because I opted not to get curry chicken she could have suggested something else on the menu. The people I came with also agreed the owner took me not wanting the red peas and rice personally and said to my friends "what's wrong with my red peas and rice?". They told her it was my first time there. What kind of owner that knows a first time customer is visiting gets mad, rolls their eyes and make smart comments to other customer criticizing the new customer? My favorite stark county dining experience. The food is delicious, unique, and served in large quantities for a good price. A friend in the group I went with is vegetarian, and he was satisfied with the choices. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, with help from the Reggae music playing. However, the friendliness of the owner was what really made us feel welcome. She gave us samples of everything she had. After ordering, time seemingly slowed down while we sat at the table and chowed down on the mound of jerk, curry, and chicken in front of us. I am known for not eating the cake at the birthday party, just don't care for it, but I do like pineapple upside down cake.
