This was my first visit to Iris Nail Bar. I came based on what others were saying in my neighborhood social media group. I needed a place closer and didn't want to spend over $100 for a pedicure. I chose regular nail polish this visit and just like most other nail salons, they hand you a book of pedicure/manicure options. I chose the Detox pedicure for $57. Once I set in my chair, I was offered water and coffee. I declined. I usually do. I like to focus on what the nail tech is doing. Well, my tech, Van, was amazing. She was gentle and took her time with the pedicure. I appreciated that. While she worked, I used rhe massage chair. These chairs have the massage function buttons built into the chairs. I also noticed how clean the salon is. It's safe to say, I will return to Iris. I liked the service and felt good about the energy there. read more

Super disappointed. Honestly the worse eyebrow wax I've had. New to the area, and it first time coming to get my eyebrows waxed. They had great fullness and shape before, just needed the stray hairs cleaned up. Before she handed me the mirror, she kept brushing one eyebrow. When I looked in the mirror, I saw a decent size hole in the fat part of that eyebrow. It was also uneven in size and width compared to the right one. She kept brushing it and blaming me for over plucking my eyebrows at home and said I shouldn't. Umm. I don't and that hole wasn't there when I arrived. Communicate on the services that are offered. I scheduled an ear & eyebrow wax appointment, received a confirmation text for the appointment stating what services I was receiving. Once I arrived the young lady at the front asked if I was there for the waxing appointment and she proceeded to turn and look at an older lady in the back of the salon and the older lady just nodded her head NO. Then the young lady proceeded to tell me that they do not have the equipment to perform ear waxing today. I asked today or ever & she just had a blank stare like she wasn't sure if they even did ear waxing. Iris Nail Bar is very clean. However, today a walked in for my 11:15 appointment for a pedicure and dip. I am disappointed that at 11:27 I am sitting in the pedicure chair, I have chosen my color, but no water is running. I have been in here when there are nail technicians just sitting around, but not today. I had an appointment with a specific technician. She is currently busy with another customer. Came here because my normal nail salon was a little busy so I thought I'd give this place a try. It's very clean and cute inside and the front staff was very friendly. The woman doing my pedicure was pretty pushy to upgrade my pedicure and I reluctantly did. Spoiler: It was not worth it. There was nothing special and I honestly feel like the prices for the pedicures are very overpriced for mediocre service. The massage was not great and the water and stones were cold. When I asked for a different color for my pedi (before she started painting) she was not very helpful and I settled on a color that wasn't really what I wanted because she made it seem like it was such a hassle. $70 was a waste. I got dip for my natural nails. The length ended up a little shorter than I'd like but nothing too bad. $40 seemed fair. I probably won't come back here for a pedi but I would come back for my nails. I've tried now three people at this salon ... giving them the benefit of the doubt... it's tough when you have been going to the same nail lady for over 20 years... well I've recently moved to princeton... formerly in Dallas white rock lake area and went to Holly for approx 22 years... followed her to 5 different salons... unfortunately the one hour drive is no longer feasible... even though she is THE Best in the industry... All three times, I asked to have my nails cut short... toes and fingers... with an oval Not square look... apparently they do not understand oval... the nail polish is not evenly distributed... don't get me wrong they are lovely employees... the problem is they either don't listen or don't understand what you are asking for ... not sure I can continue to go back... Update: I was originally happy with this place but it only took 3 weeks for my dip to pop off all nails were cracked at this point. Came in for a mani/pedi. Was sat right away, wasn't offered a price list. Was automatically given the basic service. 10 minutes after my pedicure started I was asked if I would like my manicure at the same time. I said yes, he turned around and told the 3 employees in their language, all said no. He walked to the front and the front desk lady argued with them for a minute or two and finally one got up. Again didn't give me a price list but instead defaulted to the basic. She was so uninterested and deep into her conversation with the guy doing my pedicure she didn't notice how low she cut my nails, she basically rubbed lotion on my arms as my massage and the painted my nails. Worst service I've ever had at a nail salon. So disappointed in this place. Definitely will not be returning. I'm glad I didn't push for a pricer service, was ready to leave after I heard them arguing about who had to give me a manicure. read more

I, too, have given this nail salon several tries and won't be back. The interior is well done and inviting, but management is poor and customer service suffers. Major problems: I scheduled couples pedicures and unfortunately my husband drew the short straw (on his birthday) with Chloe who started off 30 minutes late with a major chip on her shoulder, scowling through the entire pedicure and refusing to smile or respond to polite small talk from us. She poured overly hot water in my husband's foot bath, filed his toenails, abruptly emptied the water, rubbed some lotion on his feet, and called it done. I explained that he was supposed to get the $40 Iris pedicure with hot rocks and cuticle and callus treatment. In response, Chloe rubbed a small emory board on his dry feet for a few seconds seconds and was done. Clearly, we weren't going to get what we asked for but I figured we'd be charged for a no frills pedicure. Instead, Chloe wrote it up as a $60 organic pedicure. I told the ladies at check out about the treatments that were omitted. They talked to Chloe, apologized, and dropped the pedicure charge to the $32 basic pedicure even though that, too, was supposed to include treatments my husband didn't receive, like pumice bar and cuticle work. Minor problems at Iris Salon also negatively affect the experience there, for example instead of playing something relaxing on the tv's such as luxury home shows or great vacation spots, Iris Salon was playing This Old House. Four guys sitting around a table (presumably, because there were no subtitles to follow the conversation) talking about a rotten piece of wood they removed from a porch. Finally, I will say that I've had nice gentlemen technicians at Iris. William gave me an excellent, detailed pedicure. And, I've had good NexGen work done by another gentleman there whose name I can't remember. Still, there are so many new nail salons popping up in Princeton--and considering my other negative experiences at Iris (not covered here)--I'll check out some of these places in my search for a friendly and reliable local nail salon. read more
