I'm visiting family for the week and we had lunch here on Tuesday. We were informed the corned beef was cooked, but not cut yet. Luckily, we all wanted the burgers and they were quite tasty! However being informed the corned beef was not quite ready made us want THE CORNED BEEF! What great care they take to make sure it is right! The staff really does shine here - very personable and attentive. Well, I had to have the corned beef, so 2 days later I went back to sample. I went with my mom and we each had a perfectly poured Guinness and split the Corned Beef Boxty. The staff was very accommodating and split the meal on two plates for us! We loved the boxty. It was so flavorful! The corned beef was delicious, lean and cut thin! We had the chips with our burgers, but chose fries when we had the boxty. Irish know how to do the potato! Both were great, but prefer the fries. One last comment, the atmosphere is vibrant, full of sports TVs and I wish you were in North Carolina! read more

Very nice Irish themed bar that also has what I view as an expanded menu for a bar operation. For my first visit here I got a 1/2 Lb Beach burger That is basically a loaded Cheeseburger with Bacon. The burger was well cooked, nice juiciness, quite tasty and definately a notch above most of the burgers in the area. The included house made chips were OK but not to the level of the burger where in hindsight I probably should have upgraded to fries. Lastly the House margarita, of which I had three, were quite large, cheap at $6 and quite tasty. Small gripe though I thought they were light on the tequila as I should at least have felt at least a tingle in my toes after three but alas no tingle (:. Light alcohol aside at $6 this was still quite a deal for such a tasty drink. As stated earlier the Irish theme and green colors everywhere really added a lot to the overall dining experience. Staff was soooo friendly with great follow up throughout and clearly a strength of this business. I was taking my lunch break and scoping the Waterford area for a bite. A pub isn't my usual go to for a sit down meal, but I've had good bar food so I figured why not give them a chance. Inside and out they definitely fit the bill. It's one's of those places that probably has the same customers that come back regularly so it feels like it's part of the community. The lady behind the bar was very courteous and suggested the Irish chimichanga, which was essentially a giant fried egg roll stuffed with corned beef and came with a thousand island dressing for dipping. I was satisfied with the food, but the coleslaw wasn't all that great and the chimichanga was a little overcooked on the outside for me. Their menu is quite large so no one should have a hard time finding something they like. I definitely recommend this place, but only when you're unwinding and hanging out with friends. read more

We got DoorDash from here tonight. My fiance ordered the South of Wisconsin burger and liked it a lot - it has cheese curds, Jalapeno poppers, etc. on top. I wasn't super hungry so I got a kids meal: $9, which is a decent price, for two large sliders plus your choice of side; I opted for mashed potatoes. It was 50c extra for toppings so we paid for tomatoes and pickles; unfortunately, there were no pickles. The sliders themselves were very good, but the mashed potatoes looked like they'd been scooped out of a can or something. The main reason we ordered from here was the cheese curds. My fiance liked them, but unfortunately I did not... They had some sort of sugary-tasting element that I didn't like. I still ate them, but not sure I'd order them again. Love the food but the waitress didn't care about doing a good job to earn a tip and didn't take our order for over 20 minutes after getting us a menu. We had to get up to get her to take our order. She did have time to take a regular patrons order that came in 10 minutes behind us though. It will be a long time for me to go back. Went for trivia night. It was packed and had to park across the street. That was a good sign as this was my first time coming to this establishment since moving back to Waterford. The food that was being served around me looked like big portions for reasonable prices. I only got fried pickles which were only ok to me. Only because I don't like spear pickles, but it still tastes great. The inside reminded me of a typical Irish bar. I liked the vibe and decor and felt chill. My only suggestion was since it was busy it was hard to get drinks at time from the waitress. But once we ordered they were brought out promptly. I think she was the only one waitressing tables and for that it still keeps 5 stars. My only complaint was not bar related as it had to do with the guy doing trivia night. Not sure how he didn't have help to monitor people using their phones to cheat. 3 tables had phones out every time a question was posted. We did let him know about one table. But second round they had phones out again. Maybe the establishment can help enforce that. I will be back for trivia since it was fun. read more

Lunch with friends, wasn't real busy on a Sunday afternoon. Service was friendly and prompt, as well as knowledgeable about the menu with suggestions. Had the wings, nothing special just ordinary wings. Tried a Boxty-potato pancake wrapped around corn beef. The pancake was a bit bland and chewy, the corn beef was good. Upgraded to the sweet curry fries. Interesting combination, fries were ok and it was a bit sweet. Would try again. Overall it was bar food and was good. Been a regular customer for over 8 years and won't be recommending IT or going out of my way to come back. The food quality has dropped substantially while prices are higher than ever. Chicken Boxty was always the go to and now they're hard to eat (chicken is like rubber) and fries are an additional upcharge now. You're paying ~$18 for a Boxty now... Service, and atmosphere about the same other than the loss of other regulars we saw coming here for years. Get your act together IT, you've really fallen off a cliff. read more

I've lived 10 minutes from Irish Tavern for almost four years now and finally got around to trying it! I was craving wings and wanted to try a new place. I called and placed a carryout for two orders of wings; Buffalo and Butter Parmesan. Both were being packaged up when I walked in to get my Carryout. Both were very flavorful and cooked perfectly with plenty of meat on the wings. My favorite of the two was the Butter Parmesan! I had leftovers for the next day too! Very good! read more

I wanted to love this place! I live about 5 mins from this place and was ready to make this my local go to for Friday night dinners. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. It took us 40 to 45 mins to get our food, and there weren't even a lot of other people that were ordering food at the time when we arrived at 7:40 PM. My husband ordered fish and chips and we got wings extra crispy with hot and bbq sauce. The fish was actually really good, fries were not seasoned and generic, but they ruined the fish by not giving enough tarter sauce. The coleslaw was not good. Onto the wings. They were not extra crispy and the skin was rubbery. Unfortunately, our waitress didn't stop by at all while we were eating to check on us to get this feedback. The wings were so soggy I ended up asking to get them to go. Keep in mind that 8 wings cost $12.50...The box they gave me for the wings was actually a dip container and the wings were busting out which you can see in the picture. We've been going here for about 4 years participating in their trivia nights on Thursday . It's been a lot of fun until tonight. Out of the blue the manager came up and yelled at us for having a seat at the end of he table. He didn't ask us to move in the way a manager should and was extremely rude. We immediately moved as requested but the level of attitude from staff and management....we will never be back. Wish I could give this place negative stars. Me and my friends came here after going to the haunted house. The girl checked our Indiana IDs and did not believe that they were real IDs because she didn't believe that Indiana had two different styled IDs. We even tried showing her the article that explains how Indiana just got new IDs and she didn't even care to read it or believe us. She denied us service tonight. As a Michigan bar, you should be able to recognize legitimate Indiana IDs with it being the closest state to Michigan. Makes no sense. Rude service. Y' all... I ordered DoorDash and was super hungry and my DoorDash driver sent my steak boxty and fried pickle spears to someone else and then they remade the delicious masterpieces for me. Those people are so mf lucky they didn't get their shitty chili cheese dogs and coneys because I guarantee both of our tastes buds were just blessed with THE BEST carb overload ever. It was SICKENING HOW DELICIOUS THE FOOD WAS. The wrap is like a actual pancake but savory and made of POTATOES. It is so yummy y'all. The Irish tavern is a okay location to eat. It is a clean restaurant, located easily accessible to two main roads. However, be prepared to wait a LONG time for food. We had a small group (5), and we waited over an hour for food, and watched several other groups (with less & more people) come, eat, and go before we even get served. This is RIDICULOUS! We understand that there is only one waitress for the entire restaurant, and one cook, but for a slow time, the wait time is quite excessive. Once our food was done being cooked, it sat in the window for 15 minutes (we timed it on our phones). When we FINALLY got served, our food was cold. I suggest looking at other locations to eat since they are tend to be inattentive to their customers. We came 30 minutes after they opened for the day, and our group was first ones there. read more

I had the Shepherds pie and I think the vegetables were from a frozen bag and the mashed potatoes were probably instant. Decided to check this place out on a local recommendation last Thursday night. I'm always looking for a unique and delicious burger and I think I found one I love at IT! The Loaded Irishman Burger! 1/2 pound nicely seasoned patty, corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and Swiss cheese! This burger was cooked perfectly and just simply delicious. I already want another one for dinner tonight maybe? The fries were also seasoned well and crispy and delicious. The restaurant itself is a what you would expect out of a local hole in the wall and I mean that in a charming way. Looks to be a cool place to hang out even though we only stopped in for dinner. I finally decided to try this place after a co-worker said the food was really good. I ordered the BBQ burger and the meat was basically flavorless. I could tell from the uniform thickness and texture of the burger that they use pre-pressed frozen patties. Not always a bag thing but in this case just bland. I have defiantly had better bar burgers, and some local small diner burgers. On the plus side the wait staff was very friendly and the service was good even thought their where only a couple of open tables when I got there. Maybe my first visit was just an off night. I will probably give them another try. Probably something other then a burger. read more
