You'll be even happier with the squeaky clean, inviting little dining room, the sweet ladies who serve, the kind locals, and the excellent food. We had driven a few hours and were more than ready for breakfast! This was it, I said and hubby wanted to pass when we pulled up, but agreed to walk inside and see. Say no more. We were greeted by lovely ladies. The friendly happy locals were enjoying their beautiful breakfast and the dining room is delightful. Without hesitation, we took a table. This was going to be a great stop! And we were right! I got the egg white veggie omelet, and she was instantly agreeable to my multiple substitutions. Instead of hashbrowns and toast, I asked for creamy delicious refried beans. Yes! Instead of egg whites, I wanted the whole 3 eggs! Yes! And may I have salsa for my omelet? Yes, and how about a whole bowl? When the salsa was getting low, she asked if I would like more. Yes, please! This salsa was worth its own photo shoot, so flavorful and just the spiciness I love, about medium. Hubby enjoyed his chicken fried steak with white milk gravy. Yeah, I broke my diet and had a few bites! So good!!!

There's a small u shaped bar seating and larger dining areas on either side . I noticed a couple of ribbons on the counter and he mentioned his salsa , red chili snd BBQ has won local awards . He brought out a complimentary basket of chips and green Hatch chili salsa to start . Oh boy! This was the best salsa! Tasty with a kick but not too spicy . My daughter scooped up every last bit. He suggested the special burrito. ($13?) I took his advise and got it . It was humongous! Definitely enough to share . My daughter wanted the salmon dinner which was standard fare so, she helped me eat my burrito instead . My burrito was way better . It had everything but the kitchen sink in it . Sooo good . Even though we ate until we were full , we still had 1/2 a burrito left! (Ate the rest for breakfast the next day !) Glad we found this gem driving through on our road trip. * The owners Hatch chili salsa should be sold in jars !

Glad we stopped because the Chile Relleno was one of the best I had in a long time. The shell was very crispy. Wow covered with sauce. Hard to make crispy inside. The rice and beans came with. It was really good too. We're also order the steak, medium rare, but we had to send it back for a little more cooking. Overall, the flavor was very good. Came with fries and a salad.
