You'll be even happier with the squeaky clean, inviting little dining room, the sweet ladies who serve, the kind locals, and the excellent food. We had driven a few hours and were more than ready for breakfast! This was it, I said and hubby wanted to pass when we pulled up, but agreed to walk inside and see. Say no more. We were greeted by lovely ladies. The friendly happy locals were enjoying their beautiful breakfast and the dining room is delightful. Without hesitation, we took a table. This was going to be a great stop! And we were right! I got the egg white veggie omelet, and she was instantly agreeable to my multiple substitutions. Instead of hashbrowns and toast, I asked for creamy delicious refried beans. Yes! Instead of egg whites, I wanted the whole 3 eggs! Yes! And may I have salsa for my omelet? Yes, and how about a whole bowl? When the salsa was getting low, she asked if I would like more. Yes, please! This salsa was worth its own photo shoot, so flavorful and just the spiciness I love, about medium. Hubby enjoyed his chicken fried steak with white milk gravy. We stopped here becausee it said they have outsside seating but they don't. (We are traveling with our dog.) It's not very big inside, I counted 7 tables. But it's clean and looks to be well run. I got the fish tacos. It comes with 3 tacos, rice & beans. Nice, tasted great. My SO ordered carne asadaa quesadilla and chili relieno which was wonderful. Favorite place for chicken enchiladas! They make their own corn tortillas and I love them! I enjoy their red and green sauces, tasty but not too hot. The chicken is juicy. Husband and I stopped in Deming for the night, while on a road trip. Per Yelp reviews, we decided to go to Benji's. So so happy we did. Immediately served with chips and salsa. The salsa was so good we asked for refills 3 times and fought over it. Fresh flavor and good heat. I ordered steak fajitas. The meat was cooked perfectly with peppers and onions. The beans served were possibly the best I have ever had. I usually skip the beans. Husband ordered the combo plate and enjoyed every bite. Very attentive service and nice friendly staff. We are traveling in our RV and made most of our meal along our tip but when we read the reviews for this place we had to stop. I'm so glad we did. This beautiful family is working together to roll out some amazing food. My husband and I ordered the combination one red and one green Chile sauce. It came with one beef taco, one tamale, one cheese enchilada, a tamale and rice and beans. It was so much food. We paid $20 and it also came with chips and salsa. The green Chile sauce does have a little bit of kick but we love spicy so for us it wasn't bad at all. We split of the combos and leaving the other for lunch tomorrow. The place was clean and appeared to be following COVId guidelines. They all had masks and plenty of hand sanitizer. read more

As we were traveling through we stopped for dinner and so glad we did. Everything so fresh and delicious. The shredded beef had a ton of flavor. So when we found out they were open for breakfast had to do it. Would have taken a picture but couldn't stop eating. The customer service was perfect. Clean neat. A low budget Mexican food place whose location has seen better days. However, the building does not make the food. My order of a chorizo and egg burrito was delicious, albeit somewhat small for the price. I expect a breakfast burrito to contain potato or rice as well as the main offering. But it tasted good and the salsa was delicious. My wife got a taco plate, which she found tasty, though the onions in the pico de gallo to be overpowering, shadowing the other ingredients, as well as having a lasting taste for an hour or two. The rice was tasty as were the beans. Our server was very nice. One entree, one plate, and two Mexican Cokes came to over $18. I found that to be a little bit pricey. This was after all in a small town, in the low rent district, and not so far from the border. read more

I had the tilapia w pico de gallo, yellow rice, and refried beans. Portions were normal; not huge, which I appreciate. We were stopping thru with a dog, our waiter set up a table outside and was completely attentive. We had the combo and a chicken taco salad. Both were very good! I only eat chicken taco salads and this one was one of the first that I have had that was super colorful due to the freshest of lettuce and tomatoes. On a recent trip through Deming with our 40lb therapy dog, Benji's was the only Mexican restaurant that we could find with dog-friendly outside seating. The waitress very kindly brought menus etc out to us and remained very attentive to our needs. It was an enjoyable meal. There restaurant was very good this first time I ate there. But the 2nd time I order a carne asada burritto is was made completely wrong. The carne asada burrito is suppose to come with pico de gallo and guacamole (that's what it shows on the menu) but the burrito was plain just the meat and onions. NO pico de gallo or gucamole. Clean well kept facility. 3 in our party. I had crispy tacos that were tough and hard to eat. They must be confused what crispy means. Wife had soft tacos and she said they were fine.
