Best food in Pine Mountain. I drive Columbus just to eat there. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is great. If you don't like your children being in a place with a bar then this place is not for you unless you sit out on the sunporch. You cannot see the bar from the sunporch. We have eaten there several times and the food and service are always excellent. I've tried the chicken wings, The hamburger steak and the sweet potato fries. My husband has tried several other items including the steak tips, Mac and cheese. It's nice to go to a restaurant and have the meat cooked to your order and they don't serve small portions, so plan for a big appetite or leftovers. We will be going back many times. read more

Been coming here for about 3 to 4 years. Really good staff normally. Had an unfortunate incident tonight which sadly echo's some other reviews here. Came in with my family as we normally would. I waited for the hostess as I understand it's busy on a Friday. I was seen a few times but never acknowledged as I was leaving a bit of room for people to navigate between myself and the host stand. A couple come in behind me under the assumption I had been helped and the hostess greeted them before me. Not a huge deal as she had a bit going on due to the weekend rush. I gave her my name after, in which I had to make the initial contact so no greeting. I give her my name and sit down. About 45 minutes passes and I notice a party that arrived after me had been seated. We asked the hostess about our place in line to which it had been marked out already. Strange to me because I had been patiently waiting and watching for my name to be called. She said to wait just a few minutes longer as a table was supposed to be leaving soon. We decided to approach Steven who we are comfortable with about to situation. Unfortunately the hostess found it necessary to interject and as we explain what is happening she claims we should of told her sooner about the name not being called. There is really nothing I could of done to prevent this. I am sad about this situation as this is one of my family's favorite places to eat. We have spent a lot of money here over the years but can no longer participate in giving this business my service and or recommendation as it stands. I think the chef here is really great as a side note. My issue remains with the hostess, which, I have found to be always a bit overwhelmed or falling behind when I visit and it's mildly busy. read more

Boy are they frying food well! You've probably had good fried green tomatoes before, and they are good here too, but have you had fried green beans? They were delicious, and slightly spicy, so says my children. The loaded potato chips, with cheese and bacon, and you smear a little sour cream and sprinkle a little chives on top... muoah! I got a hot pastrami sandwich, my 1st daughter a cheeseburger, and the other kids spaghetti and everything was delicious. We absolutely LOVED Iron Horse Grill!!! Stumbled into this place for a beverage and snack after a long motorcycle ride. Fantastic staff, met some amazing locals and got invited to join their trivia night a few nights later. We had the best time and feel so lucky to have found this GEM! This used to be the go-to place for my family. The food is great. The service is pretty great, except for the hostess. This is the second time we've tried to go where the hostess seems to forget about us, even though we're on the list. Last time she crossed us off before a table was ready and then after another 15 minutes of waiting we left. This time we were waiting and noticing people who came in behind us were being seated while we were still waiting with no explanation. Until they get better hostesses I can't spend my hard earned money here. It sucks because it was legitimately my favorite place and I would always recommend it to everyone. We ordered out food from here on a Saturday night. We got the charcuterie as a starter. We loved it, but it didn't have any bread or crackers. It definitely needed a bread/carb. After waiting over 45 minutes and watching three other families who came in after us get seated, I raised the issue to who I believe was the manager. She told me she couldn't help me and that I could go somewhere else. When I asked if there was anyone else who could help, she said she was the only one and that she wouldn't help. I admit that it was a busy Friday night, but that's no excuse for being rude and unhelpful. It was really a terrible experience. We went before fireworks. The host was quick to seat us! Our server was ok - nothing special about their overall customer service but their food was the bomb dot com. The chef really knows he's doing back there! It took a little bit of time but it was definitely worth the wait!! I had the black jack burger and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. We both had one of the specials, which was breaded, deep fried pork chops with two sides for $12.95. Excellent Southern classic! The shocker was when we got the check. Local brewery pints of Chance IPA for $3.00 a pint! Really? When I saw that I ordered one more. A nice brew like this would be at least double where we live in Maryland. Jay, our server, was great! He delivered a fresh bowl of water for Issy when he brought our drinks without us even asking. The covered outdoor seating was very comfortable and we enjoyed watching the thunderstorm that blew through while we were there. Surprised at how great this place was. We waited about an hour but wasn't surprised since the Fantasy in Lights was at Callaway. The server was the best. The food was great. Everything I tasted was yummy. I had grilled chicken fingers that were huge sand a friend got the fried chicken tenders she said were really good. I like the variety of sides. Grilled/blackened grouper was delicious. The only complaint I had was my legs were freezing since a lot of their seating is on a screened in porch, but it is winter. We ate here April 19, 2019. I am giving this place a 4 star rating only because the service is super slow we also ordered an appetizer and never got it. They do not have a hamburger on the kids menu so we ordered a plain burger for my son he said it was good but it looked burnt to me.. he was happy. I ordered the open face roast beef so yummy and plenty of leftovers for later. It's two pieces of Texas toast smothered in roast beef, brown gray and onions. My sides were fried green beans and mashed potatoes. My husband had the hamburger steak with a side salad and seasoned fries. He said it was good but really regretted not ordering an open face plate. First off I'd like to praise the young lady, Georgia (I believe, is what another waitress told us her name was). It was a little hard to hear with the masks and chatter. So, I apologize for not getting her name in the beginning. Either way, she was great! We have three children and I ALWAYS appreciate when the service is on point. I feel waitresses are running around more for us and she was very attentive to our table and our children. I appreciate her kindness. Now, the food. I had the honey black Jack burger, our daughter had the Reuben, my husband had the ribs and our littles had the hotdog and chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were a little over cooked (fried) but not anything that was terrible, or making it unbearable to eat. I definitely suggest trying the honey black burger. It was packed full of flavor! We live at FT. Benning but came here because we were visiting Callaway Gardens. I have to say, I'm glad we have a year membership because it gives me an excuse to visit here more often. :) read more

The food is really good. It may be a bit over- priced but not necessarily for a restaurant in a tourist town. I give it three stars because it is often over- crowded, a good sign but frustrating when you have to wait around for a seat just about every visit, and it wasn't the most welcoming. The last time I went, I brought a friend from out of town. I really wanted him to experience the place. The hostess met me at the door and suggested I "come back tomorrow because we're really busy". I then saw her seat someone as we were leaving - and that person came in after we did! (To be fair, I assume they had a reservation). It's just too much of a hassle and, needless to say, "tomorrow " never seemed to come. I haven't been back. And I took my friend to a different local eatery, which they have enjoyed on every subsequent visit. read more

This place was an awesome find in the quiet town of Pine Mountain. First, the spot itself has a super cool vibe. The service was spot on, and our server pointed us in the right direction on food and their selection of IPAs. Based on other Yelp recommendations I wanted to order the open-face roast beef; however, our server warned us that it was an extremely large portion size so the hubs and I split it (good call)! After seeing the Fantasy in Lights at Calloway, my friend and I went in search of food. We landed here at 8:00. As we walked in the hostess told us that they were closing, but then she looked around at all the people still sitting around eating and told us to go ahead and take a seat. It was fine. Our server was super nice. I lost my earring. I thought it must have been ripped off when I took off my mask. The sweet little server looked all over the restaurant for it. The food was delicious. We had the kettle chips and a HALF pound burger with sweet potato fries to share. My only complaint about the place was the sweet potato fries were covered in cinnamon and the menu said nothing about it. There was sooo much food, I didn't even ask them to replace them. My friend thought they were delicious anyway, so she ate those. I just don't like cinnamon on my sweet potatoes. I'll definitely eat here again the next time I'm back in Pine Mountain! read more

We stayed in Pine Mountain on a Sunday and Monday night to avoid crowds. We got takeout on Monday evening (they are only open for lunch on Sunday). The boy ordered hot wings and I ordered steak tips with mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. When I called, they apologized for the small wing size and said we'd get 16 instead of 12. The wings were an appropriate size, but we were happy to have extra. I was worried about the boy not getting enough vegetables, but the wings came with a ton of carrots and celery, with homemade ranch. We also had a side salad with blood orange vinaigrette. The steak tips were tasty, but could have been more rare. The sides were mashed potatoes and a generous portion of fried green tomatoes. To finish, we had Coca Cola cake that came with whipped cream and strawberries. Yum! Their Covid safety wasn't perfect, but it was better than most of the town. read more

We found this place while biking the new rails-to-trail and were pleasantly surprised. The shrimp pasta was amazing and as everyone else has mentioned the fried green beans are not to be missed. We stumbled upon this place on a Monday afternoon with our kids after visiting the nearby Safari . We were so pleased with EVERYTHING! The loaded Kettle chips were absolutely addictive. The waitress bought me a tasting of some local summer beers Bc they didn't have the particular one I had ordered and I wound up with a delicious Georgia Peach Harpoon. My kids ordered kids meals / wings / tenders / Mac and cheese and they gobbled it all up. I ordered the French dip and fried green tomatoes which were so fresh and delicious . My husband ordered the honey blackjack burger with bacon and their fresh fried okra. The meats were delicious , amazing, and fresh and cooked to perfection. We stopped to eat dinner here while in town visiting Calloway Gardens. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, the service was very prompt and friendly. Upon another reviewer's recommendation, I tried the Openfaced Roastbeef platter and it was very good. A lot of food! I had my fill for dinner and brought half the food home for lunch the next day as well. My dining companions had the Rueben sandwich and the chicken tenders meal.
