    Tenderloin and fries
    Mark E.

This restaurant has been here for a long time. It's a very relaxed environment and has comfort foods. The staff is incredibly welcoming. I had a tenderloin with fries. Tenderloin was good, fries were excellent. I was tempted by their selection of dessert pies but passed.

    Smoked Pork Chop Special

Excellent food, service and quaint country ambiance. My family has been eating here for decades and have never left disappointed. Took my dad here last evening for late lunch/early dinner. I chose the Smoked Pork Chop Special. My dad ordered from the menu a Barbecue Sandwich. My two chops were delicious along with the flavorful home cooked style green beans with seasoning meat, mashed potatoes w/white gravy & roll. Very good and filling with a whole chop left over for today. My dad had the most amazingly large barbecue sandwich that he said was excellent He also had french fries brought out fresh from the fryer. He is somewhat of a barbecue expert being one of his go to's and he said it was one of the best! It was so large he ended up bringing a half home too. Our server Jenny was extremely friendly and attentive. The owner always meets regulars with a big hello and inquiry about the family and good old fashion conversation.

Dude OMG in the middle of nowhere is one of the dopest breakfast spots of all time. Live for places like this. Cannot over emphasis enough how legit this place is, the smoked sausage is NEXT level.

Only thing missing was my mom, only 2nd time there ever without her. Owners and staff always so kind to my parents..on top of good food!!!

My parents and I have been driving to Sulphur Springs to come to the Iron Kettle for years. Always, without exception good quality home cooked food! I have never been disappointed with a meal and today's meatloaf was no exception. Take a nice country drive for small town hospitality with old fashion home cooked meals.

I got iced tea and it wasn't the best or the worst, I'd probably get a Coke next time. I saw them bringing out a lot of wraps to the party they were serving and since it was like 107 degrees with the heat index Mom and I decided to get the fried chicken bacon ranch wrap with onion rings. They claimed on the menu the chicken was hand breaded but I'm not sure about that. The wrap was huge and also 95% lettuce which was obviously from a bag and had a funny bagged lettuce taste. There was the smallest sprinkling of cheese, bacon and tiny chicken tender pieces. They didn't put much ranch on the wrap so that made it dryer. Luckily we asked for extra when we ordered because we like to dip our onion rings in ranch too. We really liked the onion rings. I would have said something about the wraps but our server had that large party so we didn't see her again until the end of our meal. The view was beautiful and they do offer cocktails. They have a nice outdoor covered patio with ceiling fans but Mom said it was too hot even with the fans and since she's nearly 84 I wanted her to be comfortable. We will definitely go back again but I will try something different or leave off the lettuce if I do get a wrap.

On entering around 1:30 pm on a Thursday, there were two couples standing at the unattended "please wait to be seated" sign, and I observed about half the tables in the front dining room had guests; the other half were covered with dirty dishes. Not wanting to spend an excessive amount of time, I peeked around the corner and observed two open seats at the small bar, so we took them instead. We had to move a dirty plate and glass over to the end of the bar. After about six minutes of sitting there with no bartender appearing we decided to just get a drink, and go elsewhere later for food. Finally a gal approached us, and it seemed that she was the only staff member on duty for both dining rooms and the bar. She was nice enough, but it was disappointing that she couldn't have just removed the dirty dishes which were six inches from my husband's elbow, not to mention the bar wasn't wiped down. The dishes were still there when we left. We caught her passing through after a while to ask for the tab, which was $7.77. My husband put down a $20 bill and she brought back $12.00. Now I realize some places are in a state of panic hysteria over "penny shortages" but you don't just round UP a guest's tab and certainly not by almost a quarter. Some places give you a discount for cash; this one penalizes you. The decor is nice, rustic and countrified. I don't know how the food is obviously. As we were leaving I noticed the front dining room tables still hadn't been cleared and we were there about 20 minutes.
