We ventured to Cambridge for antique shopping and stopped in No 9 Grill for lunch. Overall, it was a great experience. Two of us got the Philly cheese (side broccoli and wedges) and the other got the prime rib with side salad and baked potato. He said the prime rib was great. I felt that the Philly cheese had great flavor and liked the soft bread. Wedges were good as they were crispy and not soggy. Service was great and our waitress was helpful in making suggestions and giving info on the menu. Will def stop back in next time we are in town. This restaurant was highly recommended by a coworker for a long time. One of my other coworkers and I were close and decided to give it a try. It is a very nice location and very clean and a nice vibe. We both ordered steaks and our food came out I. A timely manner. My steak was under cooked and I e cold. I did send it back and it came out better. It did taste good. The sides of broccoli and a sweet potato were also cold and I did not eat them my coworker got brocade and didn't eat his either. Great service. We came as party of two and decided to split everything so we could have appetizer and dessert. We started with spinach artichoke dip for appetizer and perfect size for sharing. Get the jalapeño crunch burger with jalepenos on side (then you can decide how hot you can handle. We opted for wedge fries and didn't know it was an option to get them loaded with cheese and bacon. So glad we did, we got an order of sour cream, and it was like loaded potato skins. Excellent choice for a side with your burger. We finished off with my favorite. The chocolate cake. It has a caramel macchiato icing and is the most moist chocolate cake you will ever have. It's worth celebrating any special occasion or just life in general. But don't skip the cake. This place was great and hit the spot. They have a ton of seating so even though it was busy on a Saturday night, they were still able to seat us immediately. The food came out quick and everything was good. We ordered the sirloin steak and pork chops. It was nice being able to pick from a long list of sides. The house salad and the baked potato were the best. My old fashioned was probably the strongest old fashioned I've ever had. For $8, I was shocked how strong they poured it. I wish this place was closer to home! That was the mantra we were repeating again and again throughout our dining experience. Food was excellent, service was great, atmosphere was lively, staff members were working hard with cheerful attitudes, seating was comfortable, bar was attractive and well stocked, and prices were right. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. Big dining room, brick walls, high open ceiling, lots of wood. Plenty of booths. We got really lucky and were seated in one of the three booths actually in the bar...you know in Indiana that's the no children zone so we were happy. Our waitress was Natasha and she was on the ball and quite helpful. I told her I like a true medium rare but I usually order rare due to frequent issues with the steak being overcooked. I noticed their menu has the descriptions of the steak doneness so I felt more confident they would get it right. Natasha suggested I try it "Pittsburgh Rare" which is seared and charred outside with rare middle. I had to try it and glad I did! My husband ordered the twin North Atlantic lobster tails- how could he not. Expectations were cautious since we are quite a ways from the coast, but wow! Been a while since we have eaten here. I ordered the turkey club with guacamole and a side of Mac cheese. Club and Mac and cheese were just okay, I felt it lacked any real taste but was eatable. Had dinner this past week on my birthday. Steak was perfectly cooked. My son really jalapeño burger his mouth was on fire; which is exactly what he wanted. I ended up on Cambridge City during my travels and wanted to try something new. No 9 Grill had good reviews and a cool building so I thought this would be a good choice. I parked on the street directly in front of the front doors, but they also have a parking lot. Easy parking makes me want to give them stars for that alone. Honestly, the entire town has open parking spots everywhere along the main street. I went in and was sat down right away add a nice cool table which was very much welcomed after being outside in the 96° heat. I ordered a BLT and potato wedges from the lunch menu for $8.99. My question is why don't we have potato wedges more in Indianapolis? They're so delicious and they stay hot for longer because they're THICC. The bacon tasted like it was smoked outback and it was served on perfectly thick, toasted bread. It was really good. The wedges were served piping hot, crispy and seasoned. I just wish we had one of these closer to home because I would be a regular. read more

First time here and we will definitely make it back in the near future. The steaks were cooked perfectly and had good juicy flavor. The BBQ salad was a good portion and had good flavor, a little spicy but not too much heat. We also had the onion straw appetizer which is very addicting! We threw some on our salads for a extra crunch. Then we finished with dessert. Our server mentioned the cake was made from a local baker and since we couldn't make up our mind, why not try both the strawberry and the chocolate Carmel cake. Very delicious and fresh!! Hostess acted like it was an issue to do her job. Very stuck up and rude. Asked for a table for five. Said we can split up to two tables if it's better. She said no it's easier for me to seat a big table. Then proceeded to seat other parties same size as ours that came in after us. It was clear because we were not from the town that we were being treated badly. Asked about gluten free and told fish. Said I don't eat fish and waitress said ok and walked away. If the owners wife is gluten free why wouldn't there be other options? Makes absolutely no sense. You need a hostess with a happy face and some training. You need to train waitstaff on what gluten is and give them options to tell the guests. Not a good look for Cambridge City from us Southerners with hospitality! read more

We had a fabulous experience! We were here for an early dinner, arrived about 445 and thankfully we were no later. We started with onions, straws, and they were fantastic, great sauce with it little heat to it, but not too much straws were crispy so thin and not greasy. For our meal, I had a ribeye and my husband had a fillet they were both cooked perfectly. I am a medium rare girl. He is a medium to medium well mine was hot red all the way through his was a nice pink all the way through tender juicy delicious. My ribeye had very little fat on it and very little gristle perfect thickness. I had a sweet potato that was nice and caramelized baked perfectly little chard on the bottom, bringing the syrup of the sweet potato out. My husband's baked potato was cooked perfectly great flavor. Salads were delicious. I had Caesar he had HOUSE both fantastic nice cold bowls, fresh lettuce great service you will not be disappointed. The only thing I tell you is for parties under six you may have a way if you go anytime after five when we left, it was standing room only we left about 5:40 and they were packed. Great little grill set off the main road through Cambridge City. The ambiance is very laid back, well put together and remarkably clean for a 10 year old restaurant. The staff was very warm and welcoming as we came in for an early dinner on a beautiful summer evening. The food was excellent. No 9 Grill is good, we stopped by for dinner one night while staying in Cambridge City. The food comes is big portions and averages around $15 a person. The onion straws are SO good (however, extra greasy). The burgers are great, and the mac-n-cheese was just "okay." They have a separate handicap entrance, which I thought was great! It's more accessible and gives you immediate access to the hostess. The main doors in the front have a few steps to access. The building has been restored and it's much of a bar/pub atmosphere that upscale dining (there is a small bar in the back). Stopped in while on an Antiquing road trip. 5p on a Friday and the place was hopping. My wife visited the restroom and commented how clean it was. So points there. Sat at bar. The only thing that was a little annoying was that the restaurant has very loud noise level but I was happy to get to try this gem out.
