    Mac & Cheese Overload
    Jamie W.

Probably the best customer service I've ever received in Henry County - it was found here! The owner of Grill't is so incredibly friendly, I loved her. She kept bringing us samples of things to try and asking us if we needed anything. She's definitely ready to serve her customers & community with the best of the best. It's a family owned & operated business. Everything is homemade! Everything. The meats are tender and juicy, the best barbecue around. The Rodeo Burger is epic. The mac and cheese overload was recommended and super fillling. I could not finish it, although I wanted to. Ha! The baked beans are perfectly sweet. And the Texas Potatoes - extra cheesy with a bread crumble, . Indoor seating is open now and if you order a drink you will be greeted with a huge Ball jar that comes with free refills. Food comes out hot and fast. Order at the counter & they bring to your table. Tips: A banana pudding dessert is coming to the menu soon! Also, they have a rewards program.

Okay.... The food is amazing, but also the PEOPLE are amaazziingggg. We got brisket, pulled pork, green beans, fried pickles, baked beans, and the Mac Overload -- all delicious! If I could only ever eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would def be the MAC OVERLOAD. Don't leave here without it!

Menu and ordering counter. Laid back casual motif.

Best eatery in New Castle! Excellent meals, sandwiches and SIDES! Love the sides, especially the Collard's! Family owned which shows with their gracious service whether dine in or carry out. Love supporting such hard working people that bring the customers service era back with a smile.

Open for dining now. And for lunch some days too!

Open for dining now. And for lunch some days too! You will never meet nicer people. And the overloaded Mac and Cheese ...omg yum yum yum! Sweet and/or spicy BBQ sauce on the sandwiches or meals. Tasty. Support local!

New restaurant in New Castle! This was our first time trying Grill't which has been open in it's permanent location for a few weeks. The owner came out, welcomed us, gave us free samples, and checked on our experience as we were leaving. The food was excellent! We had a pulled pork sandwich, shrimp tacos, and we attempted and failed at the loaded fries. The fries are a meal in themselves and are loaded with cheese, bbq, more cheese, and deliciousness. Everything was very good and you can't beat the customer service.

Consistently the best ribs in the area! Love their monster fries as well. Service is always happy and quick.

Food was fair, but I think a bit pricey for my tast. It's a small place but there brisket is very good.

I wasn't sure what to expect but this wasn't it. This place is wild! The decor is very wacky but…read moresometimes that's a clear indicator that it will be good. The menu is huge! And a little overwhelming. I assumed everything would be processed but I'm pretty sure the coney sauce was house made. Footlong coney day was always one of my favorite lunch days in high school so I opted for the footlong coney. It was pretty good. A regular size one would have been plenty since apparently my adult stomach is smaller than my high school stomach. The strawberry soft serve was good too. It was more tangy than sweet. My brother had the carrot cake ice cream. While it wasn't as carrot cake-y as he expected, he still liked it. The employees were friendly and we got our food fairly quick. There were several other people walking up/dining in and the drive-thru was busy the whole time we were eating.

There are no lists of flavors for ice cream when you face the windows where you place the orders…read more There are all kinds of menu items listed there but NOTHING tells you the list of ice cream flavors are along the side of the building by one of the parking lots. If you park on the other side of the building you completely miss out on the list. It would have been nice to have a sign POINTING to where the flavors are. Instead you just think you can get soft serve cones or sundaes. Speaking of which, by husband ordered a large brownie sundae with hot fudge sauce and they didn't put on the fudge sauce. The lines were long so he didn't go back to correct it. But quite disappointed. Also the "large" was like a kiddie cup size. I ordered a medium twist in a cup and it was twice the size of his "large" sundae.

Much like Steven Tyler sang on the single that was released the year I was born (I just now…read morediscoverd this!), I am back in the saddle, again! Recently, my family went on a, er, fateful camping trip. Fateful is perhaps a strong term. But much like Back in the Saddle isn't Aerosmith's best song, this wasn't my favorite camping trip. Oh, far from it! But this isn't a review about camping venues. It's a review about a restaurant. Why? Because when the rain comes in and dampens your family's weekend plans, quite literally, it's time for Plan B! I wasn't familiar with the area, but something drew us to Ky's American Bistro and, honestly, they kind of saved the day! Ky's is a locally owned establishment that specializes in down-home cooking and classic American fare. They advertise an unlimited salad bar, which I think is great. The unlimited salad bar seems to be vanishing from our culture (R.I.P. Ruby Tuesday!), and while I am not the biggest fan of the all-you-can-eat buffet (don't judge my lunch choice below!), I AM a fan of a salad bar that giveth abundantly. Beyond the salad bar, they create "handcrafted" burgers, tenderloins and hand-cut streaks. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, and they had a hot bar you could add to the unlimited salad bar. Yes, it was technically a buffet, but I am going with "hot bar" because its my review, and I can. Joking aside, it was a solid Sunday meal. The hot bar had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac 'n cheese and green beans. Basically, the perfect Sunday comfort meal after a less-than-stellar camping trip. My son ordered the bone-in wings and they looked great, nice and meaty. My girls loved the "jello fluff" off the salad bar. I am a sucker for a salad bar that includes more than just salad, even if its simply something for my kids to enjoy. They also include a soup with the salad bar because, of course! It was a cheesy cauliflower, and my oldest daughter was skeptical. But she loved it and downed a bowl quickly. The decor is rustic, yet comforting: knickknacks on the wall, but it never felt like they were going full Cracker Barrel. My youngest daughter loved the "Farm to Table" sign with the greenery hanging down. She was already interested in decorating her bedroom in a similar fashion, so she was very impressed. And let me tell you, that's saying something for her! Lol. My only drawback was that it was nearing the end for the hours of the hot bar, yet more people had just been sat who stated they wanted to order the salad and hot bar. The kitchen brought out some fresh chicken, but said that was all that would be served. It was a little early, I felt, since a large family had just ordered, but it all worked out. There was enough food, and I understand a business wanting to save on food waste. I saw a review that mentioned instant mashed potatoes. All due respect, but that reviewed is crazy. These potatoes were THICC. No "k" needed! They were served with a delicious chicken gravy. The food was exactly what you would want for a down-home comfort meal. Whether you are surviving the bad weather or just looking for a great meal, Ky's has you covered.

We were seated and it was not too long before the waitress came to the table and took our drink order. I ordered the breaded tenderloin and onion rings, my daughter had the tenderloin and fries, and my grandson had a hamburger and fries. I was not a big fan of the tenderloin, too thin for my liking, but my daughter liked it. The grandson was happy with his burger and fries. They were pretty busy the entire time we were in there but our waitress did a pretty good job of keeping up. She did check on us during our meal. I would likely go again if I were back in town. I would just order something different.
