    Boneless Ribeye & Green Beans

Irons Steakhouse is located inside The Mint Gaming Hall. The service and the food were great. The prices are very reasonable and everything on the menu is sold separately except the prime rib which comes with two sides. The lightening was dim and there were table, booths and bar seating.

Irons is located within The Mint Gaming hall. It's what you would consider "upscale." No particular dress code noted, so wear what you'd like. They don't open until 5pm, so keep that in mind when you decide to book a reservation. The lighting is very dim to give that intimate vibe. Came here on Father's Day because it was away from the city and wouldn't have to worry with too much traffic and long wait times. Overall the dining experience was great. Savannah, our server was very attentive and welcoming. Overall everything we ordered was great. But they definitely loaded up on the salt with flavor from the mashed potatoes, broccolini, and steaks. Too salty for sure. The meal would've been a lot more enjoyable had they seasoned it with less salt. Definitely needed to ensure you drank plenty of water after or during that meal. They brought out rolls prior to getting our ordered food. The rolls were soft and buttered with garlic and other herbs. If you ever decide to visit the Mint make a reservation for Irons.

This was our first time here and definitely won't be the last. The restaurant looks high end, but there did not seem to be a dress code. We started with the asparagus fries which were delicious. The asparagus was not overcooked. It was just cooked enough to keep its shape and also hold the breading. My husband got the ribeye, I got the pork chop, and we shared the mashed potatoes. The ribeye was the star here. The pork chop was still good though! It had a crispy top, which I really enjoyed and the sauce was a game changer. The potatoes were heavy on the garlic but in the best way. Our server, Zoie, was very nice as well. Ps don't skip out on the rolls.

Place was cozy and quaint! Service was excellent and so was the food! We will definitely be back here when visiting Kentucky Downs!

We came for our post-eloping dinner and it was 5 stars. The service, the ambiance, the food was all top notch.

This Classy Venue, Sets A New Tone.. Pleasantly Kicked Out of Our Comfort Zone:…read more What a Gorgeous Night to be out & about, with Beau, on the night before the Full Moon, during Derby Week, in Bowling Green. We'd never been here before, thus, we were new to this scene! Even stepping in seemed an experience, following behind two ladies, donned in Derby Hats, & their two dapper gentlemen, who smiled, held open the door, & graciously waved us in!! Then, at a long table we happily joined, our extended, car fanatic family. Thus, the festivities began, as our evening flowed pleasantly.. What We Found : Service: Friendly & Attentive.. Our iced tea was refilled & our tables kept clean. And our server, steered us in the right direction, in recommending the Surf & Turf dinner, which was Delightful.. Ambiance: Lofty & Modern Aesthetic, with Rustic Elements. (But still too modern, for our liking). Nearby, seemed a nicer table: with a wooden tent like canopy, situated near a great hearth.. Food: Generous portions of entrees & sides. The hearty sides, are served family style. We ordered: Bacon Cornbread; Mac & Cheese; Roasted Brussel Sprouts; Roasted Mushrooms; & Truffle Fries. These Tasted Divine... Especially the bacon cornbread, served with a dollop of brown butter, which disappeared in no time!! Whilst our Surf & Turf Dinner, of: Shrimp & Beef, served on skewers, atop a bed of Fried Rice, Kicked Us Out of Our Comfort Zone. This was quite unlike the country cuisine of Bowling Green, for so long known!! And, the horseradish sauce, served alongside, seemed rich & robust!! Indeed, the menu seemed to convey the chef's creative touch!! However, our friend beside us, bemoaned that his elk steak dinner, was mostly burnt!! To the staff, not saying a word!! Moreover, Beau found his Strawberry Shortcake, a tad too dry. But from Beau's pretty dessert, to the Almond Cake, ordered at the table--all seemed a pastry feast for the eyes!! Overall: We Found This Classy Venue, A Welcome Change From The Familiar..Hearty Southern Fare, Fine Tuned With A Touch Of The Exotic!! So Happy To Say: We Loved It !!

Decided to try this instead of our usual Go To restaurant…read more Immediately upon entry, a pleasant looking place, and was greeted promptly for seating. Menu: from the choices it looked promising. Service: Waitress was prompt, and took drink orders. Once she returned, she took our food order. AND this where it went down hill. After 25 minutes, our salad was delivered at the same time as our entree order. Also no drink refills. For salads we had. I had the bacon dressing on my salad, wife had the lemon dressing on hers. We both agreed both were good. The salad- she liked and I disliked. (it consisted of spinach leaves and arugula) For entrees - Against my better judgement after reading the description ( (but I had hopes). I ordered the fish and chips. Mistake! It came as described, hand breaded, pan seared. However, when you tried to eat it, the breading completely came off, and fish was overcooked. The chips were French fries that were hard, overcooked also. Wife's entree- Shrimp and Grits.Description said butterflied shrimp and stuffed crab cakes. Reality:- rubbery shrimp with no seasoning. The stuffed crab cakes consisted of a balled up ball with way more breading than crab. Both of us said the same thing, No flavor. Finished the meal and still no refill on drinks. They were not busy. Paid our bill, and both agreed- Disappointed. Should of went to our usual place a block down the street. There was nothing spectacular about this visit.
