Went on a Saturday afternoon about 1pm. As soon as you walk in, there is a sign with the daily specials. We were seated right away. A server came shortly after and got our drink order and I ordered the cheese sticks. My husband ordered the catfish and I ordered a hamburger. All the food was hot and fresh. We've heard from a couple people that this was the best BBQ in WH, but kept forgetting since it's a bit tucked away. So glad we finally got to try it, because this is our favorite local BBQ now! What you need to try: Ribs - So tender and moist, the bones just fell off! Pulled Pork - Flavorful and comes w a good sauce Green Beans & Coleslaw (mayo based) What you can pass on: Mac & Cheese - very watery and bland Cornbread - it's actually hoecakes. Cornbread is king over Hoecakes! Lastly, their service was just lovely! It's always the cherry on top to have great staff on top of great food! Oh the pricing is fair too! The only downside was that they didn't include our buns for the pulled pork... not a biggie but def double check on your orders. Great spot in White House and one of the few open on Monday. The restaurant has ample parking, seating, and also a drive-through. We came for lunch and we're seated right away. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the loaded potato with brisket and my husband had the 1/2 rack of ribs with fries and cornbread. The pork ribs here hit that holy perfection of being truly fall of the bone tender which is a thing of beauty. Unfortunately for me, the ribs were waaaaaaaaayyy too sweet without putting any extra sauce on them at all. It's overpowering with the sweetness which may be other people's thing but wasn't for me. The collard greens as a side had good flavor but were soupy. Super clean restaurant with a cute set up and nice staff. The tenderness of the ribs is what really makes this a four since the sweetness might be more a personal pref. read more

Whole family was overcharged for "catfish special". Owner? Manager? Old gray haired lady. Blamed her poor waitress while her "catfish special" sign didn't have a price. We all got our bills for $17. ea. I'm the asshole, I'm the only one that complained. Explained I didn't want to get anyone in trouble or didn't want a problem but that was wrong. She goes and gets on to the waitress and shows me a screen that says "catfish special +$8.01" "sides +2.49" or whatever? I don't know if was the waitresses first day or been there 10 years but whoever made the sign without a price and the manager that allows a sign without a price is at fault. Seemed more like a scam than a mistake. So, she kinda cops an attitude and says you will change mine but can't "eat" all of em'. Told her, charge me full price, it's fine. She proceeds to charge full price + credit card fee? + asks me if I wanna leave a tip? They had also also added gratuity for party over 8 or something? I say, didn't you already add a tip? She should fire herself. Never apologized about anything or to any of us. Just blamed waitress and gave me excuses about her managing skills? This place has a homey atmosphere and it's very clean. The service was awesome and the food was really good. The Philly Chicken was tender, cheesy, gooey and cooked perfectly. The fries were your typical frozen/fried, but still very tasty. I also ordered onion rings. They were made with whole onions and were fried perfectly and so yummy. He got the two meat sampler (Pork and Chicken) with cucumber and onion and the bread/muffin. He said the cucumber/onion was a bit sweet, but good. He also said, the two meats were excellent. So now I'm digging the chicken and dressing. It is scrumptious. They are frugal with the cranberry sauce though and charge for more - isn't cranberry sauce pretty cheap? I do have to say I've been to a lot of BBQ joints and have had some awesome Ribs and some pretty good Ribs and at a bare min I've always been able to eat them. But the Ribs here I couldn't even eat. Being from the West Coast, our choices for great barbecue are limited. That being said, I was disappointed to find out that there isn't much good barbecue here in Gallatin, Tennessee just outside of Nashville. Thanks to Yelp I discovered the BBQ place in White House, about a 30 minute drive from Gallatin, and worth the drive. I was able to try their pulled pork and pulled brisket. It's nice that they serve them with 3 sauces on the side so you can make your choice and actually taste the meat before you sauce it up. The potato salad and turnip greens were also excellent. Never having had Chess pie before I had to give it a shot, I'm definitely going to try to make it when I get back home in California. Thank you BBQ place! My wife and I each had the veggie burger with all the fixings, then she had the potato salad (just a smidge too much mustard in it) while I had cucumber and onion salad plus the broccoli in butter sauce and home fries (all three were perfect.) Both of our orders and meals were served pleasantly and quickly by our server. Drinks were refilled quickly. So far, so good. Then our server brought out the dessert options... So much for staying on our diets (oh well-you only live once) I had the chocolate fudge pie and my wife had the pecan pie. The number of vegetable sides options are decent - you get to choose between small or large. With all that we had the tab came up to a reasonable amount.
