I have only been to the warehouses/ location of Ironside warehouses for work and had always wanted to check this spot out... I'm so upset at myself for taking this long. The Italian fare was delish! There is a lot to offer on their menu and even extended breakfast hours. I had a simple salad, the SPINACI (spinach, mascarpone, hazelnuts and honey mustard dressing) with some water and bread, there goes me trying to cut carbs... although a simple salad it hit the spot. Refreshing and filling a great size portioned salad. I then finished with a cappuccino. Seriously THE BEST CAPPUCCINO I've had in a long time. Had I had more time I would have ordered more but I was trying to be good lol. I did catch other people's dishes and they all were mouthwatering. My favorite thing about this whole experience is the vibe. I sat in the inside part which is mostly a cafe feel. Amazing service and great dessert in a trendy space (plenty of indoor AND outdoor seating). I was in the area in the late afternoon and needed a casual place with free wifi to finish some work on my laptop. Ironside Kitchen was perfect! I was initially worried about taking up a seat to just order a cup of coffee and a dessert, but my server was extremely welcoming. The coffee and tiramisu were great, but service is what really stood out. My server checked up on me frequently with a nice level of enthusiasm. I never felt rushed, and I left with very positive feelings about the place. I would want to return to have a meal outside during nice weather. Ironside Pizza is a real authentic Italian restaurant and hidden gem nestled away in Little Haiti. I can't believe I passed this place several times on Biscayne and never knew about it. Thanks to my friend and fellow Yelper Arturo B. for introducing me to Ironside. I think I will make this my new hangout on the weekends surrounded by good company and vino. What I found super cool about Ironside is that you can bring your own wine and they don't charge you a corkage fee! Now that calls for poppin' corks on my next visit. Haha! What makes their menu fresh is that they import all ingredients and dough from Italy. I went with their gluten-free ($4 up-charge) Vegetale pizza made with zucchini, eggplant, peppers, tomato and VEGAN (No charge) mozzarella fiodilatte. You need to bring your own alcohol... which is the best because most restaurants over pice their liquor. After hearing about Ironside, finally made it here and left with the words "I will be back" in my head! Ironside is located in the Little River District, theres businesses and an open yard there, keeping the kids busy as you eat outside! It was not hot in the evening as we sat outside! The pizza was delicious, from the ingredients to the dough. Coming back in the winter is all I know, with a bottle of wine or beer (they do not serve alcohol, you bring your own and they don't charge corkage fees)! Bumped up to a 5 for their free corkage policy (BYOB = AOK). Ironside has been on my list for many, many months, but my need for a pizza fix has become more urgent after the untimely demise of my go-to "Kings County" (http://www.miaminewtimes.com/restaurants/kings-county-miamis-best-new-york-style-pizza-spot-has-closed-8510901). I still need to find a take-out place to fill that hole in my life, but while I hunt, I can take a longer drive for some of Miami's best and most authentic Neapolitan pies at Ironside. More than half of the seating is outdoor, which would be awesome if you visited on one of Miami's rare cool nights, but I was here in June, when it's hot, raining, and zika mosquitos fill the air, so I opted for a seat closer to the view of the oven while our waiter uncorked our chianti classico for dinner and a show. The Margherita was tops, but a little skimpy on the basil (4 leaves for an 8-slice pie - tsk tsk). Also tried a funghi (ie: mushroom - but only cremini, so don't get too excited), and a vegetarian (eggplant, peppers and tomatoes). No clear favorite, but these are pizzas where you actually look forward to getting to the crust at the end of each slice - there is no "low point"; these are just great pizzas from start to end. Ironside and the neighboring sister restaurant (a coffee shop which only serves dinner Friday and Saturday) are introducing Miami to the much-welcomed concept of free corkage, where you can bring your own bottle, have the restaurant open it, and supply you with wine glasses. This makes Ironside a place to travel a little further to, and makes me more forgiving of the stinginess with the basil leaves. read more

You taste the freshness of all the ingredients. It's easy to get caught up in this appetizer but don't get full there's so much more to try. Vegetable lasagna- the taste is perfect and light if you don't want the heaviness of pizza or pasta. It comes in a cute little casuela like the one you would see in Mimas house. The tomato sauce was amazing!!! The vegetables were crunchy but soft to emulate pasta. Devine! Regina pizza- it tasted like a fresh garden pizza. Perfectly crisp and peppery arugula with fresh cheese and Roma tomatoes made the pizza well worth eating the whole darn thing. Affogato- you need to try this for dessert! It's 2 scoops of delicious vanilla gelato with a shot of espresso served in a martini glass....pure heaven! And a perfect way to wrap up your food experience here. Years ago this place once had decent pizza. Went twice over the past 2 months and can now say it has gone completely downhill. The pizza is outright terrible. The base and crust are like a wet sponge, no crispiness or texture, just soft and bready. Anyone who wants to spend upwards of $18 for a piece of sponge bread with cheese will enjoy this place. Anyone who wants a halfway decent pizza for their hard earned money should definitely go somewhere else. Dined here this past Saturday this place is truly the definition of a "hidden gem". It's nestled in between an ice cream shop and a cafe in a somewhat questionable neighborhood in Miami. It is dimly lit and is actually romantic. FYI It is also B.Y.O.B I wish I had known this before or else I would have brought a bottle of wine. For pizza we shared the Diavola, which was absolutely mouth watering and for dessert we got the nutella pizza equally as mouth watering and satisfying. Service: This is the only reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5. Upon entering the owner/manager greeted and was very friendly but when it came to our waitress I have to say the service was somewhat lackluster. She was missing for the majority of our meal and barely checked on us. I had to literally flag her down with my arms to get her attention to come over. Other than the service this place is a solid 4 star restaurant with the potential to be 5 stars. Highly recommended by one of my wife's friend. Decided to take our children along with 2 more. Upon arrival, noticed the welcome by the hostess was less than cheerful. They started to provide lame excuses about having only one cook and how Uber orders were coming in. After 10 more minutes they kept saying 2 minutes. 2 more minutes. Finally the pizzas came out. Let me tell you, I was less than impressed by the taste of these pies. First, dough was somewhat undercooked, sauce was cold and the cheese seemed to be on strike! I have had pizza in many pizzerias throughout Miami. This was so disappointing. Perhaps my perception would have been better if not by the terrible service that was provided. After they noticed my dissatisfaction, a new waiter was assigned to our table and tried to make things better. Drinks were finally served ( soda), pizza pies came out and they provided us with a complimentary entree to make things up. Unfortunately, it was somewhat late in my view. They need to improve service and train their people with better attitude and aptitude. I understand these are tough times in the restaurant business, but that was the reason we went out to eat, to help this industry, to be a part of the solution and not the problem. Even with such disappointment, we still tipped 20% because we understand this is important and many people depend on them. Word Class Food ... Dumpster Quality SERVICE Having lived in Italy for 6 years this food is a plane ticket to Italy served on the dishes. We went all the way into the restaurant through the patio to finally meet a host. Basket of bread and pitcher of water promptly at the table followed by menus. Bread was tasty, 30 seconds on a piastra or hot surface would be even better. Our waitress arrived with a "Buona Sera" which made me smile. We ordered a Burrata which was set on a bed of arugula, Bresaola which was served with pomodorini and more arugula which was tossed in a dressing and then placed in the middle of dish, Bruschetta Classica which was very good but use that stomach real estate for something else. Pizza Diavola and Pizza Formaggi with 4 cheeses were ordered. Our Bresaola and Burata had he best view of the restaurant as they sat on top of the open kitchen counter for 15 minutes prior to making it home to our table. A food runner arrived with our Pizzas when we requested our appetizers. Our waitress was never seen again since the placing of our order and our drinks never arrived either. Silently we pillaged through the AMAZING FOOD as we need to make room to concentrate on other dishes we stack one on top of another. A tall man in the distance with the "air" of a supervisor looking around making sure he does nothing from a corner of the outside dining room. Not until out food was finish did this un charming bald character come get our plates. He didn't ask how was everything. Just cleared out plates without offering dessert even. The best show of service was from a tall thin young fellow which cleared the final plates. Offered dessert or coffee. He even read our silence from food coma and shared what they offered for desserts anyhow. Tiramisu it was and a ristretto coffee which was perfectly made and the bill was requested. Bill never came 5 minutes later. Bald gent passed by and I requested the check again. No check. I almost dined and dashed truthfully but I wanted to leave a bad tip and leave my concierge business card once the dinner was done. I love to over tip for great service but this deserved 10% at most. So this is going to be an atypical review as I don't have any pictures I know, I know, how are you going to know how great this place is? Well I'm going to help you with that as much as I can. So, what looked like it was going to be a bad experience when we arrived, was quickly turned into an amazing time, mainly because of our exceptional host. Most of the tables inside and out were reserved, but we were able to seated in the shade on the patio. This was perfect because we had 12 people, and the patio was turned into our own private party. We were informed that for a party of our size, they would have to do the fixed menu; this consisted of a variety of salad and cheese combinations, bread, a huge rotation of pizzas, and a Nutella pizza for dessert, all for on fixed price. One salad was mixed greens, walnuts and raisins; another was arugula and mango cubes, and the other was arugula, thin slices of leeks, and mandarin. The appetizer boards were also different but consisted of goat cheese, Gorgonzola, or mozzarella in classic caprese style. And the meats were prosciutto and different cured hams of the region. The pizzas were all thin crust, wood oven made and also came with a variety of toppings; Genoa salami, prosciutto, spinach, arugula, sliced sausage. Because of the crust, the pizza was not as filling as it normally would be, and each combination of every course was absolutely delightful. The Nutella pizza... There's not much to say about it, other than it was perfect and the cherry on top of the lovely meal and experience. I really want to revisit, possibly with less people, so that I can see the full scope of their menu. Based on this experience, I'm sure they will live up to my high expectations. We ate here twice during our several month stay in the Miami area. This is a lovely low key place to eat and stroll around, and even to bring the kids. We tend to go on the earlier side because we have kids and it's less busy. The scene picks up after 8pm and when they have live music. I can speak to the Eggplant Parm, Meatballs and their white pizza with mushrooms. Our only issues are that there are not many veggie options or a kids menu (the pizzas are a bit too fancy for our kids it seems). It is BYOB or they have some sort of market or something you can purchase a bottle of wine or some beer from. We did that the first time. The staff are all very nice. When the pizza came, it had exactly 1-1/2 leaves of basil on it - definitely not enough to flavor a margarita pizza properly. It was decent, but I have had so much better elsewhere. We ordered a dessert, I am not exactly sure of the name - it was like a Pave - some cream in a glass dish with berry syrup topping. It was horrible. One bite and I was done with it - it didn't taste right. We told our server, and he was very nice about giving us something else. He brought out a tiramisu that was BEAUTIFUL, and very good. As for the food - let me start off my saying that my wife loved everything about this restaurant including the food. I thought the food was just average. We ordered the meatball appetizer and the house salad. The house salad was really good, just lettuce and tomatoes but the dressing was fantastic. The meatballs were undercooked for my taste and actually weren't very tasty. We also ordered a few different pizzas which were okay but nothing memorable. The dough seemed a little undercooked and "doughy," and the sauce was almost tasteless.
