I came here with a friend and colleague around 4pm, so there were barely any customers at the restaurant. The place is a relaxed and cool looking with an EMPHASIS on providing a rustic vive until you realize that the rustic part really just means 'cheap' (because they've gone to every garage sale or thrift store and purchased whatever chairs they could get their hands on) and that the tables are made from 2x4's, 4x4's and raw plywood from your local hardware store - it makes you feel like you are in some 3rd world country from that perspective. Many restaurants do the chair hodge-podge to give the illusion of a 'homie' evolution of the family furniture - not here, it's a mix of 'anything goes,' which is not so bad for chairs as long as you don't mind you and your guests being seated (and looking at each other) at varying heights within the same table (BTW I was seated in front porch area). In the end, the chairs are the least of your problems here - I'd say the bigger deal is being seated in a small table that also has 2 different heights and a 'hump' in the middle preventing you from setting plates, or bottles, safely without it becoming a game of food Jenga. Once you get past that, since, in the end, the important thing at a restaurant is the food, I'll tell you that for this portion of the experience we ordered the involtini di salumi and the mushroom pasta. The involtini was to serve my friend as her entree since she doesn't eat much and wanted an alternative to pizza. Well, as 'yummy' as they look, the taste is far from - while the crust was crunchy, and as it should be, the inside contents were 'unpleasant' to say it nicely. The cheese didn't add any flavor and the salumi, tasted like biting into the hairy hide of a farm animal while dirty and still alive. It literally tasted like a farm animal. We could barely get through 3 of them - extremely gamy. The mushroom pasta (I chose spaghetti) was pretty much as expected and neither great nor bad - very earthy tasting as tends to be the case with mushrooms, and while I don't love eating something that heavily earthy, since I love mushrooms, I didn't hate it, but if you don't like the your pasta seasoned with a pinch of dirt, then I'd say skip it. We decided against desert, so cannot comment on that. Service was not bad, but not great considering there were plenty of waiters and staff and no customers at the place. Our waitress was nice, and while she came to ask how the food was twice, the first time was after 10 minutes of us eating, and second time way after we were done eating, sooo.... We never complained about the involtini since we didn't want the back and forth. Anywho, it's a cool place to go to as long as you go in with the right expectations. They also have a bakery called Kaffe (I think) next to it serving breakfast until 3pm? Best of luck! read more

5 stars for quality pizza and great service! We sat outside in a beautiful courtyard next to a garden where live music played throughout our dinner. We learned at the restaurant it is BYOB (no corking fees!) but there is a little market next to it selling bottles of wine of reasonable prices (the cab is fantastic). We started with bruschetta, which looked like pizza without the cheese and sauce, so it was a nice preview into the delicious dough we were about to get into with our pizza! We also had the greek salad which had fresh ingredients and just enough dressing. After that, 3 girls split salami rolls and a margherita pizza for dinner. The salami rolls were so tasty! No marinara sauce, but it didnt need it with the gooey cheese inside and layers of ham and salami. Next, came the main event, the pizza . First time at Ironside Kitchen after hearing great things.. for appetizers we got bruschetta and the caprese and they had great flavor and really fresh tomatoes ... pizza wise: was delicious had tried 4 types .. we also got the Nutella pizza for dessert and it was yummy. Pasta wise: could definitely be better but still good. We had pomodoro with pappardelle (they had ran out of spaghetti) and the beef ragu with pappardelle Service wise.. was not the best. I had to get up to get my own utensils.. took a while to even get our orders.. the waiters run around and look busy and had asked them for a few things that were also forgotten. Located in a really odd part of Miami called Shorecrest, Ironside Pizza is definitely one of the coolest places to enjoy a meal. It's not the cheapest, but when you combine the atmosphere of the outdoor seating area and the ability to BYOB it certainly wins points! Service is inconsistent however, but that's unsurprising since this IS Miami where we excel at providing mediocre service. Pour yourself some of that wine you brought, you'll get over it soon enough. The menu can be a little intimidating, a jumble of Italian names with Italian ingredients, it's hard to decide what to order. Maybe try one of the specials of the day if you're really confused, most likely you won't go wrong..unless there's anchovies.. not a fan. I suggest coming with a few people so you can get a sampling of what they have to offer. That and it's not a good idea to drink that whole bottle you brought by yourself. read more

The menu is great, the service is outstanding and the food is truly, truly special, pizzas are on point and different. Beautiful place tucked away in a very nondescript location. It's BYOB which at first i wasn't in to but it worked out divinely! We were there for a friends birthday with a large group of about 20. The service was great & while i didn't eat much (they have a prix fixe menu) other than a salad, i had a great experience. The salad also happened to be absolutely delicious! The Spinaci (spinach, mascarpone, mango, hazelnuts, honey-mustard dressing), i ordered with no cheese, was SO simple yet each and every ingredient was absolutely perfect! Huge fan of ironside and everything on the menu. I have been countless times with my family and friends. They recently just redid the restaurant and the bathrooms which is a big plus. They are social distancing with Covid and we were able to have the only table inside the restaurant (theres a huge outdoor area too.) we usually order a few pizzas and salads, along with calzones with a Nutella pizza to finish. One of the best parts about this restaurant, is that you can bring your own wine and they do not charge you a corking fee. My only complaint is that they used to have this great mango and walnut salad on the menu, but they took it off. Love this place, will obviously come back again. read more

I used to love going there : ambiance, pizza, service but all that before Covid. We went yesterday and it was really bad : they didn't have anything from the kids menu and couldn't even cooked pasta with butter ... so they brought us gnocchi with tomato sauce and melting cheese without us asking for it. My pizza was soggy, the lasagna was cold and really bland, service was slow and irrelevant... when they brought the check they Charged us for the gnocchi they ordered and $6 for the tap water that we didn't ask. We of course asked to take this off the check ... It's a shame it's a beautiful place but the people working there don't care at all about the customers... Won't be back read more

This is a nice restaurant to go for either lunch or dinner with friends, family, date night, or kids. The restaurant is rustic and the majority of seating is outside. It can get pretty hot depending on the weather but its a fun, chill environment. My salad was delicious. The salmon was cooked to perfect (seared on the outside and medium on the inside) but the pizza we got wasn't up to par. For an oven pizza it was kind of soggy. I do have to say I have eaten here before and I think it may have just been bad luck because the pizza is usually very good. The chile/hot sauce they have is amazing! I had the best brunch ever today! They have a new dish called Stella, it was super good and on the plus side it was very pretty to see. I am usually very sceptical when chefs mix cuisines, not to seem lacking modesty, but I'm a Rome native, I know good Italian food. But today I was very pleasantly surprised to taste the perfect marriage between traditional pizza and eggs. Every dish we tasted was good, but the Stella was the best! This review is for dinner on Valentine's Day. My husband and I have made it our new Valentine's tradition to avoid all of the over-crowded spots on this day and instead enjoy pizza or burgers. Firstly, the location of Ironside Kitchen is so charming, we took a nice little walk around the area before heading to the hostess stand. We didn't have a reservation but they had open tables on the outside patio which was perfect. They had beautiful string lights and candles in the outdoor area and fresh flowers at the table. They also had a guitarist playing covers of love songs live which created an awesome vibe. For dinner, we ordered two pizzas, the diavola and the margherita. Both pizzas were delicious! The sauce was tangy and tomato-ey, the crust was the perfect amount of both soft and crunchy and the toppings were great. Best of all, Ironside is BYOB so our waiter cracked open the bottle of wine we brought along with us! My favorite thing about this place. The hostess was walking table to table giving the customers a single rose which I thought was so cute and classy. This was possibly the best Valentine's Day date ever thanks to the service and food here and we would certainly return. read more

The service was mediocre specially for a Monday lunch which was so slow. But besides that everything else was phenomenal! Located in the little river district, this pizza is legit! There's a lot for parking, and it's free! They don't serve alcohol but it's a bring your own booze concept and they don't charge you for it, no opening cost. They will try to accommodate you the fastest they can, for a Saturday night the restaurant was full and within 5 mins we were seated! There's indoor and outdoor seating, outside is definitely better and it wasn't hot as we had dinner in the evening! There's a variety of pizzas, my favorite is the "Diavola" ... if you are a pepperoni fan, this is the pizza you need to order! Service was great as well! This place is so fabulous! Not only can you bring your own wine (YASSSSS) but they also have fabulous food. I went with a bunch of girls and we ordered some apps, the artichoke salad and a pizza. So delish- everything was so fresh and so delicious. Not only is the food good but they have amazing prices! I also love that you can sit outside. It's such a hidden gem (for those who don't know about it). I was happy to see that the place was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. This was my second time to this place and I already can't wait to go back. This is a perfect spot to go with a few more people since you can split dishes easily. Easily the worst dining experience we've had in our four years living in Miami! Service was awkward from the start. Seats were uncomfortable (mine was ripped and bent). Very buggy. Annoying hum. "Pizza" was really a bready cheese calzone topped with tasteless prosciutto on a bed of arugula and a few heirloom cherry tomatoes. It came out with antipasti. Pizza tasted great but was so soggy in the center. I didn't like that the pizzas came in only one size. More like a personal pizza. Our server forgot to enter our second pizza order. We waited about 20 minutes then when we reminded him he didn't say he forgot but we were able to see he started tell another server to make the pizza. We cancelled and left. For starters, the atmosphere is straight up "cool." You'll find mostly al fresco seating in a hidden Little Haiti business/art center. The staff is authentically Italian and so is the pizza. Choose from your classic margherita and/ or pepperoni or adventure towards a more sophisticated choice with prosciutto or salami. All fabulous decision. More importantly save room for salad and pasta (the pesto gnocchi in particular) - I just can't have enough. Oh and did I forget. BYOB!!!
