I've been to IronSide at least 20 times. However my last visit there will be my last visit, at least for a while. For starters, it seems all of the employees are too busy on their cell phones. Even the guy making the pizzas behind the counter was on his phone. My pizza was literally cold when it got delivered to the table. Then we had to wait for plates to be delivered to the table. I tried to eat the pizza but the cold sauce grossed me out. I never send food back, ever. But this pizza was cold to the touch. I got up from the table to took it to the server who was on his phone. I explained that the pizza was cold. He tried to tell me "that's how it comes". I explained that I've been to the restaurant many times and the food has never been cold. I asked that the pizza be placed back in the oven for a couple minutes to warm it up. They served me a half eaten burnt pizza. Needless to say we were very disappointed... more over because this place used to have great food that tasted fresh with usually good service. This delightful find in the heart of the Iron River neighborhood in Miami was simply a pleasure. It was such a pleasure that we fined here 2 out of 4 total nights in Miami, including one stay at home dinner. In fact, we drive approx 20 minutes just to dine at Ironside. Giuseppe and the entire staff took great care to make us feel at home and well fed! The food in a word was delicious!! Well, I used to eat there twice a month for 2 years but i wont anymore. Service got worse over the last months. Reasons ? My last experience back in January/ February. - they made us wait 15 min for a table while there was 3-4 empty tables waiting to be cleaned - when we had a table, we waited 25 min to get someone to place the orders. Dont tell me thy were busy since we saw waiters chit chatting between each others for 10 min inside. - they served people who came way after us. Im sooo disappointed in the service my friend and I received today at Ironside Cafe (not pizzeria the cafe) We went in early to grab a coffee and a light bite but we could barely even order anything with our NOT VERY INTERESTED in serving us waitress...it was us outside and maybe 4 other customers sitting inside so it was not busy at ALL so we should have been given proper attention. I had to literally go inside to order something and it took 20 min to get a Yogurt with granola which tasted very bland so I ended up sending it back. Good eating experience sadly ruined by surprise when bill came. Just a note to folks who want to reserve space for a large party with children. We went twice in person and also called twice (the second time was the day before to CONFIRM...just in case). We had a party of 16 at 1pm today Sunday May 5, 2018. When I got there to set up 30" before, I was told that I no longer had the space indoors. I stood my ground and the problem was averted. Grazie Dio #1! They kept on serving food (which was great) but since we were full, I asked them to not bring any more pizza even though we had already paid for it in the $30 p.p. prix fixe. When the bill came, they charged $15 per child when the manager had repeatedly told us that children were free. When I contested it, the folks at the restaurant said it was for children younger than 6 years. Of the entire group, only two children were over 6 years old but I was so annoyed by their smart-aleck attitude (bald guy) I just left. We had several children and we based our decision to eat at Ironside (versus two other nearby places) because we were told children ate free in such a large party. Every dish on the menu is delicious, (yes I almost tried them all) and service is friendly and funny. They do their best to give you the real Italian experience and make you feel comfortable and taken care of. Hands down the best (only?) Neapolitan style pizza in Miami. I went for my first time after a friend had a great experience there a few weeks ago. Tucked away in a cool little complex, the place is bursting with potential. We dropped in to order some take out pies and were warmly greeted by the warm and friendly manager, Matteo. Since these pies are best eaten almost immediately, we figured we'd hang out and enjoy an appetizer before rushing home to enjoy the pies. The place is recently under new management, but definitely not in a bad way! The owners kept Giovanni, who is the chef and heart of the place. Apparently a champion from the World Cup of Neoplatonism pizza competitions, his creations are out of this world. The new owners are experienced restauranteurs and are looking to promote this gem like it deserves. We had the Bruschetta, which was probably the freshest I've ever tasted. Matteo suggested a little anchovy on top to really make it pop. I almost fell out of my seat it was so good. For the pizzas, we ordered a simple Margherita and a much more complex offering (the name escapes me, but it had artichoke hearts, some sort of prosciutto, mushrooms etc). The dough is light but chewy, sweet but salty and just flat out incredible. Wood fired and beautifully made, it just doesn't get much better. The ingredients were also super fresh. I definitely want to know where there source is! There are plenty of offerings in the area for plain old pizza, but nothing comes close to the quality or style here. The prices are more than fair and I can't wait for the full beer/wine service in the near future. They're closing for a week to do some (needed) renovations, but after that it's only a matter of time before there's a line all the way to Biscayne! read more

Pizza is very good. Setting is outstanding. Service could be so much better. Parking is very difficult. I live on "the other side of the tracks" but prefer to walk the 30 minutes when I can. I'll let other yelpers speak about the food for this review. I agree when they say that it's the most authentic pizza napoletana in town. Calzone too. I love the setting. Eclectic and organic. Nothing matches yet it feels comfortable and natural. The life size "gummy bears" are always on the move amongst the palms. Love it. The service however could be much better. Some of the servers, especially the Italian guys at night are better than the ones I've encountered during the day. It's not BAD service but indifferent. I come here pretty often. I'm a distinctive person in dress and personality. Sometimes I bring six to eight people. Every Time I come it's like they never saw me before. Today I stood there for minutes totally ignored. Not the first time. Come on guys. Loyalty begets loyalty. While the four and setting is really good it's service that moves hearts. As many times as I've been here no one has ever introduced themselves as the owner or manager or whatever. Please say hello to your patrons. Or at least all of your patrons. This establishment is such a diamond in the rough in a transition neighborhood that I was excited to explore this place before going to see a movie at nearby O Cinema Miami Shores. The outside patio and table lay out is casual, rustic, inviting and artistic (5 stars); the friendliness of the manager is genuine, sincere and delightfully Italian (5 stars); the service - is a work in progress - inconsistent and sporadic (3 stars), but in the end a pizza place must be judged by its pizza. While the flavors were fresh, and the thinness gave it a crispy crunch, taking the first bite gave me a sense of below average amazement. I kept taking bites to figure out what was missing and while I thought it was a general under seasoning of garlic, upon further taste bud analysis - the sauce became the culprit. It was missing its zest, it's tomatoey base from which to build upon a potential mouth watering experience (2.5 stars). Now I applaud the gluten free and vegan options available, but in the end it may be that here they serve Roman style flatbread and I'm used to American NY style pizza. The service, or better said, the attention to the client is pathetic. Food is good but never constantly good. The service is just what really pissed me off...there is a "condescending tone" and a not very attentive treatment. Ex: I was sat in a table someone sat me...a server came asked what I wanted to drink...bought the water. Then I asked, after about sitting there for 10 mins, if I could order an appetizer. He turns looks at me "I'm not your server, I was serving earlier today but your server is someone else" well...I'm like if not you, who? Cause no one has come. He didn't stop what he was doing to bring the new "server" he just simply left me like that. ???????????????? Ok...I waited until someone came. Then I saw the server (mine this time) bringing bread to a long "party" table next to me...I waited for bread never came...he didn't come to the table after appetizer so I got up and went looking for him...found manager...asked how come i been waiting and I seen my server bringing bread to other tables not to mine? Server over heard and say "the reason why is cause we run out of bread" 5 mins later manager is bringing bread and oil to the table. At this point we had been waiting on pizza for 30mins.
