First off, can't tell you how heartbreaking it is to know that Pecan Point is permanently closed. This place was an absolute gem. Five star all the way. The vibe and atmosphere was stellar. The staff were more than friendly and knew their craft beers! We tried some new flavors and were made undeniable fans. I ordered a plate of Duck Fat Fries. This is a total game changer! Even more so, dipping them golden fried sticks in Truffle Mayo... as Buford T. Justice would say... SUMBITCH. And that homemade ketchup? So good it made me want to go smack Junior's mama. We also ordered the Crawfish Dip. It was disgustingly scrumpdidallyumtious!!! Pure flavor profile explosion in my mouth. Never had anything like that before. My wife and I also decided to split a Smash Burger and that thick cut bacon with juicy beef patties... damn. One of the most memorable and satisfying experiences I've ever had, and I haven't even talked about the drinks. My eyes sparkled when I seen a Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned on the menu. A must try. ER MA GAWD!!! One of the best I've ever had... everrrrrr! We also ordered the Cinn-Full Cran Hard Cider by Locust... I now have to find this... just have to! While passing through on a road trip, my local friend recommended Pecan Point and I'm glad I went. Located in downtown, you'll find free street parking in front of the restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we entered and the inside is spacious and casual. I ordered the raspberry Chipotle smash burger ($16), peach cobbler, and a flight of beer and cider ($10). What made this burger stand out was the raspberry Chipotle sauce and fried jalapeños! The flight includes four 4oz pours of any draught and mine were Irish red ale, Pecan Pointe ale, bock beer, and apple cider. The Irish red was my favorite and the Pecan Pointe my least. A local Aggie friend recommended this spot. Parking was on the street, and we were warmly greeted upon entering and told to sit wherever we liked. We ordered the raspberry chipotle smash burger with pub fries, a peach cobbler, and a beer flight. Our server was friendly and even gave us some brewery stickers, which was a nice touch. The burger was just okay, IMO. The meat patties were a bit dry and tough, even with the raspberry chipotle sauce. As a peach cobbler lover, I was a bit disappointed; it was too doughy for my taste, though I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. Texarkana is often a pass through for our family to see the in-laws in Memphis. We've never gone into this cute little downtown with its shops and dining. Lunch at Pecan Point absolutely made our trip. Not just a pop in but a destination when you're in town. Their scratch made sauces bring delicious beautiful food to a new level. I even asked our server what other sauces we were missing because the ones with our meals were ridiculously good. Man! Let me tell you! This place is amazing! I do not give out to many 5 stars. But this place deserves 5 stars for atmosphere, unique and delicious food, home brew beers, and customer service. The whole package. Walking in, immediately greeted by very friendly people, felt very comfortable and relaxed. We loved the old building and appreciated that they left it rustic but updated at the same time. Open space. There is seating at the bar or plenty of table seating. There is several booths and a whole mother room that could easily offer room for large groups/gatherings. This place was recommend to us by the nicest gal working at Alley Cat Cafe' by the railroad tracks. We are most grateful to her. Her Cafe' is worth a visit as well. If you could be so lucky, you will have Chris (Graham) as your waiter, he is wonderful! Two guys of our group ordered the Home Brew 903 Yocal and A Stateline Blonde. They both loved the beer so much that they each got a growler to go. I had a very tasty Cinn-Full Cran Cidar. Such a wonderful cidar. My husband had a very good Smoked Pecan Old Fashion. We loved our drinks. We all enjoyed the fries (fried in duck oil) with the best house made truffle mayonnaise and raisin based ketchup. Also enjoyed crawfish dip.... So delicious. We decided on the Gastro pub since they obviously would be noted for their fish and chips. It did not disappoint at all. We came early and the place was rather empty, which was nice. We were greeted by Charlie the waitress. She was really charming and great. We ordered fish and chips, fish tacos with salad and. The kitchen manager came out. Her name is Jill. My wife wanted to try the homemade sauce for the fish and chips and it was delicious. When the food came, there was copious amounts. None of us could finish our meals. Three of our people in our party got the duck fat dipped french fries with homemade ketchup and truffle mayonnaise. Come on where are you gonna get that. The fish tacos were huge, made with homemade slaw to die for. The smash burger was done perfectly, and the fish in the fish and chips were breaded nicely and were cut in chunks. Very flaky. The coffee was better than what you normally get in a restaurant. Bold and tasty. we were very very pleased with this restaurant and I would highly recommend it. Ask for Jill and have her come out and talk about the menu. These folks were very charming and attentive to our needs. I would say it's a little on the pricey side, but it was well worth it. I'm not sure if this part of town is historic or rundown. Depending on which corner you turn or which street you walk down it could go either way. I went with the Wedge Salad with balsamic instead of French dressing. It was pretty good. There was a lot of bacon, blue cheese and nuts. For dessert they had a peach cobbler, Blueberry/Lavender cheesecake and something else. The cobbler and the other one had chocolate in their names so I went with the cheesecake. Their pastry chef must love chocolate because the cheesecake had an Oreo crust. Lavender is already a faint taste so with the Oreo I couldn't taste it at all. I told some of the locals I went here the next day. They said it was one of the better spots in town so I'll give them another shot next time I'm in the area. read more

This was worth the drive down from Broken Bow, OK. This was the best meal we had the entire time we were down in the surrounding area! The inside is very simple and warehouse like, with exposed, but painted white brick walls and wood/metal tables. There is a full bar and a very large food and drink menu. Service was quick and very friendly. We never felt rushed and were able to relax while eating. We started with the summer cocktail flight and my order of preference was Lavender Lemonade (SOO good), Very Berry Burst, Summer Sangria and Tropical Mule. Hubby ad the Pecan Point Ale which was creamy and nutty with a great flavor. The star of the night was the Honey Butter Chicken, which I am pretty sure this is served in heaven. It was to die for! The large white piece of chicken was coated in a crunchy, flavorful buttermilk breading and the thick flavorful honey butter sauce was the perfect accompaniment. The garlic green beans had great flavor without being overpowering and the cheddar smashed potatoes were creamy, cheesy and delicious. Hubby went with the steak fingers, which were chunky, thick cuts of steak marinated and coated with a nice breading. That was the first time I'd ever had breaded steak fingers and they were so good. My only complaint is that this place is soooo far from my home in Illinois. If ever I'm back down in this area, I would go out of my way to eat here again. So good! read more

As always, Pecan Point never disappoints! We came to try some of their new dishes (Lamb Kafta burger, steak fingers and blueberry lavender cheesecake). The lamb burger was everything I imagined, and more! It all paired SO well, especially the cucumber relish. A 10 out of 10 on this dish. The steak fingers were really good too. They just switched meat distributors to a local business, and you can tell the meat quality is better. It tasted more fresh. Lastly was the blueberry lavender cheesecake, this was also very yummy! I'd rate it an 8 out of 10 and the reason is I think it could have used a little more sugar and personally, I couldn't taste any lavender in it. Which normally lavender is pretty strong. Stopped through on a road-trip and was happy I finally did. We've looked at this place as we pass through a few times and never stopped because it's listed as not dog friendly. It apparently is dog friendly on the front patio however. Staff were all friendly, especially with our 1 and 8 year olds. Nice interior space with a large bar, and tons of seating. Awesome brewery in the downtown area of Texarkana. The old-school brick interior looks very industrial and quite interesting. The beer selection is quite extensive as expected. The service is great. The food is also very good, but just be advised if you have a fish allergy, they use the same oil for the french fries and chicken fingers as they do the fish. I was very impressed. We found this place on Yelp during our drive through the area. My daughter got the bacon cheeseburger and fries and said both were great! I went with the honey butter chicken off of recommendations on Yelp reviews. But when I asked about onions in the green beans (I have an onion allergy) we found out both the chicken batter and mashed potatoes have onion powder in them. This restaurant was outstanding. Where most restaurants take an "ahh we are sorry" approach, they were like "if this is what you want, we will make it work". So they dipped the chicken in the fish batter and the cook whipped up some fresh mashed potatoes just for me. The mashed potatoes were outstanding!! The buttered chicken was great too. The sauce wasn't too sweet and complimented both well. And the green beans were a nice added touch. For dessert we are going with the lemon raspberry cheesecake. We chose to stop here for lunch on our way through because it is on the Texas side of Texarkana. Everything we ate was well prepared and tasty good. My hubs and I ate the Grilled Cuban sandwich with regular fries. It was very good although the ham in it was a little tough and over cooked. My hubs had a Pecan Point Ale and he liked it well, I thought it was good but strong for my delicate taste. My grandson had the Bacon Cheeseburger and Duck Fat Fries and a side of Pub Shrooms with Truffle Mayo. He really liked all of it and commented the Truffle Shrooms were really good. The server was very nice and responsive. Didn't understand we wanted an item but quickly brought it out and was very apologetic for the slight incident. She's a good waitress and knows how to treat her customers. The place is clean and inviting. Nothing really special but comfortable. I thought it was a fun thing that the restroom area was called the "Water Closet" as in some European countries. Very clean inside and the bathrooms were very unique, but clean. Staff made sure that our drinks were always full and the food came out hot and correct. Frozen lettuce in salad (replaced on request), Cubano sandwich lists pulled pork as first meat, but couldn't find it or taste it in the sandwich. Manager said it was sprinkled on top and covered by melted cheese. Special request for no mustard was not honored. I don't know if they had any kitchen staff working, because the manager stated she was the one who had made our sandwiches. The nachos were fantastic, the raspberry chipotle jam for the Montecristo was fantastic. The building and atmosphere were very nice, no one greeted us at the door and the table we eventually wandered into wasn't clean they did have a reserved event going on next to the dining room. Food arrived fast and hot!! The burger was delicious but my honey butter chicken breading was burned, inedible, tasted of old grease. The flavor in the chicken was good but the burned breading destroyed any hope for the honey butter sauce. I feel if the chicken was pounded and then breaded it wouldn't have burned before the middle was cooked. I would probably try again, but for 2 people $65 I won't go back on my dime. They were good, the flavor was on point but they use the wrong ice so it just water downs the drink really fast. I wasn't a fan that the menu changes seasonally. I saw some things on here that i wanted but they didn't have when i went. I liked sitting in the booths in the back, they were private but they're so tall that when you look in the place it looks empty, but there's actually people in it. Mainly the duck fat fries, I haven't tried anything else because it's all a little pricey, but if it's as good as those fries and their "house ketchup" then I can see why. The beers are good. Not Heady Topper / Northern New England level, but nothing down here is... (it's because of the water...) But anyway, beers definitely good. The food was excellent also. Downtown Texarkana is as dead as a doornail, however, it's worth diving into this zombie apocalypse of a business district to visit this place. Was tempted to ding it one star for the use of the lame and a pretentious term "Gastropub", however the food is just too damn good. Burger: thick, meaty, flavorful, topped correctly. Fries: look just like the pictures... crispy, not heavy. Amazing. Water: well, it's water. Service: very good. There when I need them and gone when I didn't.
