We had so much fun at the museum that we needed to grab some lunch. There was this really great sandwich with pulled pork, refried beans, avocado, cheese and seasoning. It was so good I've been craving it ever since. Yum. The only downside was the avocado was under ripe. It was crunchy which wasn't appetizing. The fries were perfect as well, they hit the spot.

Had lunch here yesterday... it's 100% perfectly acceptable fast casual food in a cafeteria-esque format. The staff was friendly, truly seemed to care about what they were doing. The kids will love it

This multi-station food court was pretty good....for a museum/zoo. Yes, the burgers are frozen discs, no big deal. Fries are okay too. Probably your best options are from their Mexican menu (focused on tamales and tacos). They do have a kids menu ( for both the Burgers and Mexican food stations ) Tip - if you buy a large drink in a souvenir cup you get free refills all day. NOTE - There is also a sit down restaurant in this same dining area. However this food court might be a good alternative.

The patio just outside the Ironwood Terraces - very pretty!

Our first sit down, get a snack and enjoy the air conditioning rest stop on our Desert Museum adventure today! The Ironwood Terraces is lovely and a little tucked away in the corner of the museum so it's not usually over crowded. It's a cafeteria style restaurant with lots of options from burgers and fries to salads and grilled fish. Don't bother trying to find any obvious lines- just figure out what you want and go to that counter. Today our party was just looking for drinks and ice cream. We decided to invest in the Desert Museum plastic cup - they are $3 -$4 depending on which design you pic (there are two different cups to choose from and they hold about 20-24 ounces each.) The best part is you get free refills "for the life of the cup!" Several Desert Museum employees mentioned the program to us, so we had to check it out. Sure enough, every time we stopped at a restaurant, cafe or even the coffee bar while inside the Desert Museum, we were able to get a free refill (fountain drink or iced tea,) with our new magic cups. As we left, we were encouraged to bring our cups again next time too! What a deal! I guess they really really want to encourage hydration here! The Terraces dining area is great - it was hot so we sat inside today. The views of the surrounding museum desert gardens are still beautiful and the overhead ceiling fans circulating the A/C on a 90 degree day in Tucson like today, felt marvelous to this Seattle girl! 3 stars for grill/cafeteria dining, 4 stars for friendly and excellent customer service and 5 stars all the way for ambience, whimsy (metal insect art... look up in the dining room,) and absolutely breathtaking Sonoran Desert beauty!

    Great outdoor seating.

We made a reservation well in advance and even then there were limited time options. The atmosphere of the restaurant is slightly upscale while still being cozy. I love all the plants! Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to give several recommendations. We ordered the grilled and chilled beets and the steak skewers for appetizers. The beets and everything that came with them was very fresh! I love anything with pickled onions. The steak appetizer was excellent and my dad could not stop talking about them. Next, I ordered the swordfish special and my dad got the pork chop. Everything was cooked to perfection and flavor was everywhere! For dessert we split the dark chocolate ganache. The ganache was very rich but paired wonderfully with the whipped cream and other flavors. I don't drink, but my dad also loved the cocktails he ordered! If Tito & Pep has been on your list do not hesitate any longer. I very much regret not coming here sooner and I highly recommend giving it a try!

The PAELLA MIXTA is also mind-blowing which includes Salmon, cod, sausage, shrimp, saffron rice, red bell peppers & peas. We opt for the pescatarian version and they gladly hold the sausage for us. It's only halfway through 2026, but I already know this will make my Top 5 restaurants of the year…read more It brings me such joy to happily pay for food that truly deserves its price tag - and I'd gladly pay more. So many higher-end expensive restaurants serve bland, tasteless food, meanwhile this amazing mid-ranged restaurant is serving some of the best dishes I've ever had. The smashed chicken was probably the best chicken dish I have ever had at a restaurant. The skin was perfectly crispy while the meat was juicy and well-seasoned. The ginger and herb salsa verde was so fresh and aromatic. The cilantro rice complimented the lemongrass aioli perfectly. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and I'm usually one to reach for the salt shaker at most restaurants. Smoked olives are a concept I have never considered before. It's a concept that was executed perfectly here. So savory, flavorful, and complex. I'd love to have a few with a dirty martini. Speaking of drinks, my Casino gin cocktail was great. Perfect level of sweetness and tartness. I knew I had to order dessert after how good everything else was, even though I am usually not a dessert person. The oolong tea cake was nothing short of incredible. The tea flavor was subtle but paired well with the fluffy and light honey buttercream. Not too sweet at all. Of course, the service was great too. Our waiter was very attentive and personable. My first experience at 5 points made me realize that this is what restaurants should strive to be. I can tell there is passion poured into every dish with every ingredient thoughtfully melded together. I can't wait to bring everyone I know here so they can experience this too!!

It was absolutely delicious and all the flavors compliment one another perfectly. The batter stayed crispy even with the slaw on top and the orange-chili jam balanced it nicely. I love that the entire dinner menu is 20% off for happy hour 4pm-6pm. The regular price seemed high to me for the serving size but I could definitely tell that they put effort and creativity into the dish. The menu changes seasonally and the food tasted very fresh and interesting. I hope to see them add some plant-based items to their breakfast and lunch menus the next time the menu shifts with the season. Vegan, vegetarian and GF items are clearly marked. They have nice outdoor seating with sprinklers. I will mention that the food took about 40 minutes to come out even when they didn't seem busy, it was not a problem for me but just noting that it might not be a good spot to come to in a rush.
