**Always** a great place for a nice dinner, I was fortunate to enjoy the exceptional wine dinner at Feast yesterday. In addition to providing an opportunity to try some new wines (these ones from one of my favorite regions, Paso Robles), these dinners really showcase Chef Doug Levy's talents, and the talents of his staff. From starter to "something sweet, the dishes he presented were special--incredibly creative and unique--as well as being perfectly paired with the wines (take a look at the photo for the full menu). My favorite dishes were the first two, actually. The flavors in the marscapone toast with salmon were so unique, and absolutely delicious (who would think to use cinnamon and nutmeg with salmon?). Torched hamachi loin was tender and flavorful, with delicate seasonings that let the hamachi itself shine. I'm not a meat eater, but I did taste the venison, and it was worth the taste: tender and cooked just perfectly. The bread pudding it was served with was tender and flavorful, and the blood orange added punch (and beauty). After the first two, my next favorite course was the final course: steamed garlic pudding over wild mushrooms delicate, earthy and prepared perfectly. As always, the service was great as well: professional, efficient and friendly, all at once. This was the second Feast Wine Dinner I've attended. They are pricey, to be sure, but not over-priced, given the quality, so well worth the occasional splurge if you can swing it. read more

Another very enjoyable dinning experience tonight at Feast. From the daily bread loaf to the Bacon and Egg Salad and then to the main course of seared Scallops with leak custard and green beans, it was an amazing culinary experience. We then completed our meal and shared the roasted strawberry shortcake with whipped cream which was truly unbelievable! Service was very good and Chef Doug stopped by our table several times to answer our questions about the various courses. My Wife and I enjoy the menu which changes monthly and always seems to contain seasonal gems such as stuffed squash blossoms this month. Feast is, in our opinion, one of Tucson's top dining experiences! read more

I have been wanting to try Feast for many years and FINALLY made it there for Valentine's Day and it was everything I had hoped it would be! They had a pre fixe menu along with the February menu items, you could also order pre fixe items ala carte. We started with the specialty bread service and the Lobster/Corn/Scallion Bread Pudding and were in absolute carb heaven. I had the Mushroom Tart and my husband did the Beef Tenderloin. All of the food was bursting with flavor and we were both proud members of the clean plate club. I had a couple of bites of the spinach soufflé that came with my husband's entree and could have made an entire meal out of a slab of that! We DID save room for dessert and split the chocolate caramel nut tart which was scrumptious. The service was excellent and we enjoyed watching the owner/chef go around checking on his guests. If you want a nice meal in an ambiance that makes you feel as if you are at someone's home and enjoying creations from their kitchen, Feast is where it's at! I believe this is a long lasting Tucson restaurant. I liked the place because I felt like I was a guest in someone's kitchen. Staff seemed to care. My short ribs with root vegetables were nicely seasoned. I did not like the cream spinach as much and would have preferred more spinach and less cream. Staff were friendly and offered some good food guidance. The prices were very reasonable for a meat dish (it would have been 3x more in Manhattan. To celebrate my friend's birthday, we decided to go to Feast. He has never been before but was intrigued by this month's menu. We both love trying new things and joke about ordering tasting menus. Dishes we tried: The squash blossoms were amazing. Neither of us have tried them before. The batter was light and crunchy, similar to tempura. The cheese filling was housemade and smooth and a little stretchy. It was topped with a honey garlic sauce and toasted hazelnuts. We both loved every bite. The crab cakes were two smaller cakes in a lemon and pear brandy butter. There wasn't a lot of filler in the cake and the sauce had this little hint of sweetness with the rich butter flavor. The house bread was a sun-dried tomato (plus other things I forget) with I believe a citrusy butter. It was soft interior, crispy exterior, and tangy butter. Supper yummy. For entrees, we had the barramundi with sticky rice, watermelon, cucumber, and a garlic, coconut chili sauce. This dish was right up my alley. I've never had barramundi before, it was a softer white fish with a nice flavor, not overly fishy. The sauce on the rice was sweet and tangy. I made some bites with all of the elements together and the flavors and textures really worked well together - soft fish, tangy sauce, bright and crunchy from the watermelon and cucumber. Seriously delish. My friend was intrigued by the duck sausage sandwich which had pickled beets (one of his favorite veggies), bok choy and fried onions. He was in sandwich heaven and loved the flavor and texture of the sausage, the balance of the beets and sweet crispy fried onions, We ended with the grilled angel food cake with cherries and goat cheese crème fraiche. The cake was fluffy and not too sweet. On its own the goat cheese may have been a little too tangy but when paired with the cherries it mellowed to a great bite. Service: So...the service we received was absolutely phenomenal, truly one of the best experiences. I had listed we were celebrating a birthday on Resy and they led with a Happy Birthday when we checked in and other staff wished him a happy birthday as well. Our server was Farrin and she was an absolute delight. Dishes came at a nice pace and were cleared quickly. They put a candle in the cake for my friend to blow out and gave us a small package of two delicious dark chocolate cookies to take home for later. My friend originally ordered a different entree but wasn't super impressed. He tried mine and said it was better than his. Farrin overheard this - I seriously don't know where she was - and materialized out of thin air asking him if he wanted a different entree. We are not the people to send food back and never do unless it's prepared wrong. I usually just suck it up as a miss and know to order something different next time. Farrin wasn't going to let that happen and convinced us to switch entrees. It was the right move because he loved the replacement entree so much better. The chef even came out to check and make sure my friend enjoyed the dish and said he'd rather a dish get sent back and someone truly enjoy a meal than settle for something they didn't love and then complain on Yelp. Came for the first time and enjoyed a beautiful dinner on a Friday with some friends. For appetizers the house salad with maple dressing fell flat. I was expecting more. The crab cakes were delicious! They had corn and tarragon with a delicious cream lemon sauce. I got the special which was the salmon stuffed with crab stuffing. The waitress described it poorly and didn't really emphasize that it wasn't just crab. It had an interesting flavor. The stuffing was probably 35% crab and this bread stuffing that was soaked lemon and herbs. The crab was delicious but the stuffing was just okay. A little overpowering. We are so lucky in Tucson to have such a marvelous restaurant and wine shop. With an ever-changing menu and an extensive (and greatly affordable) wine list, Feast is a go-to restaurant for anyone that enjoys a good meal. The menu is changed monthly, and there are still dinner specials to choose from. We chose the lobster, scallion, and corn bread pudding with Parmesan cream to start. The dish is more like a large muffin filled with the accompaniments, and it sits in a generous pool of the incredible cream. Licking the plate would be frowned upon, but it is seriously that good! The mains - I had the seared scallops atop creamy butternut squash and cabbage cooked in a bit of white truffle oil. The dish also featured small slices of prosciutto, and the bite was perfectly curated with balance and texture. My husband opted for the gnocchi with crispy duck in an XO sauce. This dish also offered a magnificent bite of flavor and texture. For dessert, we opted for a caramel nut dark chocolate tart, which is a bar-type dessert. It had a light drizzle of spiced crème anglaise, which only provided a hint of flavor. I was disappointed in most of the other dessert offerings, as they all featured beer or aniseed or caraway seeds - not my jam, but others may like those flavor profiles. We paired the dinner with a 1/2 bottle of Hartford Court Cabernet Sauvignon - a perfect choice for everything we ate. Best eating experience I've had, start to finish flawless, in Arizona. I'm happy it exists and yet also angry that I live in the Phoenix metro area because we need places like this and don't have many. We have nothing good or inventive in Mesa where I'm located. But enough about my existential crisis- on to the food and experience at Feast! We started with the fried squash blossoms, which are stuffed with house made ricotta and drizzled with garlic honey and scattered toasted hazelnuts. They were melt in your mouth decadence; delicate, tender little flavor bombs. For our mains my friend and I had the barramundi and pork schnitzel sandwich. The barramundi was pan seared til the skin was perfectly crispy and the tender white fish was so mild and delicate. It was served on a bed of lovely sticky rice, surrounded by tequila roasted cucumber and watermelon with cashew garlic coconut chili crisp. Such a great juxtaposition of flavors, the sweet watermelon playing up against the spicy chili. The pork schnitzel was incredible according to my friend although I didn't taste it. Many other tables had the schnitzels so I believe it was a hit. Dessert is so rarely the showstopper it should be, yet at Feast it is an event not to be missed. So what if you're full? GET THE DESSERT. The house made pistachio ice cream is a perfect bite of creamy, rich, vibrant pistachio. Then there is a ribbon of lavender white chocolate which as soon as it hits your tongue, melts into that familiar white chocolate flavor but then ends on a pleasant explosion of lavender. Sublime, and genius. The angel food cake grilled with cherry compote and adorned with goat cheese creme fraiche was comforting and delicious. I had a glass of their house made lavender lemonade and let me just say it was worth every calorie. The lavender was assertive and not fake tasting like wine syrups can be. Our server was delightful, attentive and sweet. The chef came out to check on each and every table, chatted with everyone, and made us all feel like we were eating a meal at a good friend's house. This very pretty restaurant was on my list of places to try for a long time. We went there for lunch last week and honestly it was just ok. The staff is very friendly. You are greeted by a smiling hostess at the door, walked to a table and handed their ever changing menu. The chef is super creative and comes up with a seasonal menu. I got 2 appetizers. The almond cakes and rabbit confit. I didn't quite understand the almond cakes. Two cakes were drenched in what seemed to be oil. Roasted vegetables and marinated goat cheese that accompanied them were delicious. The rabbit confit was yummy. If you take a forkful of risotto, salami, olives and a piece of rabbit..yum! Parking was easy right in front of the restaurant. The wine & cocktail and drink menu was IMPRESSIVE! Food was spectacular, everything we had was delishhhh! We did the Valentine's Day menu and it was the perfect amount of food. The beef carpaccio was fun and went so well with the bread. Scallop was delicious with some sweet sauce and chicken skin. The blue cheese cake was DELICIOUS, it was definitely strong on the blue cheese so if you don't like that then don't get it. Samantha was a great server, despite her long day on V day was very kind and attentive, thank you!! Very cool that in the front there's a whole bottle shop or curated sections of wine and spirits. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and finally had a chance! All my friends voted for this restaurant to try their Sonoran restaurant week menu. I really liked their menu selection and thought they were generously portioned. I picked sablefish for an entree and it was delicious!!!! Everything I ate was good and I loved the mix of cuisine they offered. Service was good as well. Chef came to ask if everything tasted good, which is always a nice touch. Our reservation was one hour before their closing time but we did not feel rushed at all. Parking lot was almost full when I got there! Looking for something different we opted for Feast. Very eclectic menu. Gourmet style dishes and non Gourmet prices. I had a steak sandwich. After the holidays I wanted small and simple. My partner had short ribs. He said it was good, however on the tail end of a major cold virus, he was just getting his taste back. Lost on him I guess. He said 6 out of 10. It's been 5 years, time for an update. Dinner for 4 last night, the place was packed. They are a little short on help, so our server was running ragged. We all had a cocktail before dinner, they were wonderful as always. I had the oyster shuffle as an appetizer, the flavor was excellent but a small portion. I normally don't order venison, but when I saw it on the menu I figured if anybody is going to do it well it's Feast, so I gave it a shot. It came with a copious amount of fennel and radicchio with a nice olive tapenade on top, perfectly balanced which is what Feast does so well. It was great! IMHO Feast is still the best fine dining spot in Tucson. Nice to see that they weathered the pandemic reasonably well. read more

The new monthly menus are as much to be looked forward to as is the chefs emails (trust me, you want to be on this email list). Decent food and good service but mains were not worth the price tag. We ordered the lobster corn and scallion bread pudding to start - tasty but very rich, lots of butter. Entrees - the scallop dish was good, but it felt pricey for what it was - $39 for 4 large scallops on pureed potato with sea beans. I understand scallops are costly and the meal was good, but maybe they could have upped the sides a bit, it looked more like an appetizer. The short ribs were served Korean style with kimchi turnip potato puree and bok choy. The short rib sauce was good and the portion was generous, but was a bit tougher than I expected. The kimchi turnip potato puree and bok choy were honestly kind of bland. Together both were nearly $80 which seems pricey (IMO), relative to other New American dining I've had in Tucson and elsewhere. The Exploradora dessert was very rich and the first couple bites were enjoyed, but we didn't finish it because the shortbread crust was very hard - it had to be broken up with your hands because a knife or fork won't do it. Ambiance was okay, it felt a bit dated with the fake flowers, and the seating was more cafe style than fine dining. The best part of the dinner was the service, our server was very charismatic and attentive. read more

This place was really good! We came for Sonoran Restaurant Week. I got a chestnut chestnut chestnut risotto as an appetizer. It was clever. It had chestnuts, water chestnuts, and chestnut mushrooms. The concept was fun and it was tasty, but I didn't love it overall. My pork two ways udon was fantastic. The homemade udon noodles were good, but the perfectly cooked and flavorful pork was better. Dessert was also good. Cocktails here look amazing! They change their menu every month so you likely won't see the items I mentioned, but just know they are clever and execute well. They don't have a kids menu so it's not the most family friendly place, but they were kind to my 4 year old. They put his water in a to go coffee cup to avoid spills and even put a candle on his cookie for his birthday. read more
