I was on a short visit to my daughters and found that we didn't know how to work the new sprinkler system. Tried a few companies but all were booked for 30 days. So was Dan's. I explained to Annette that I was only in town a week and she really was helpful and even through they were booked until late June she got back to me in a day and squeezed in an appointment. Thank you again Annette she went above and beyond due to our situation. Chris and Pete arrived and were very professional. They assessed the system and began their work. They taught my daughter how to use the system and checked everything out and in no time we were good to go and up and running. The whole experience was awesome. Dan's Lawn & Sprinkler quoted me $400 to replace my entire valve system for a leaking sprinkler head buried underground SIGHT UNSEEN. For a company to provide such a high estimate without even visiting the property is highly unprofessional. Many repair companies will not provide estimates without first visiting the site for this exact reason. The issue was resolved by simply capping the sprinkler head using a part that costs less than $10. They also unsuccessfully "repaired" another leaking head and attempted to charge an additional $275. After leaving our property, the head continued to leak. I had another company come assess the situation and they suggested I replace the damaged head with a sprinkler head that has a check valve. The part was purchased from DBC Irrigation Supply for less than $4 and stopped the leak immediately. Furthermore, it is extremely difficult to schedule a repair date with Dan's Lawn & Sprinkler, as also mentioned by another reviewer. They are very slow to respond. On several occasions, I had to resend the same email requesting repair to even receive a response at all. Very poor customer service. I do not recommend this company and will not be using their services again. read more

My vacuum breaker gave up the ghost and Bob was able to come by quickly and do a great job replacing it with good quality parts. You could certainly tell there was experience behind what they do. These guys are legit. Bob is terrific. I wish all vendors would be as helpful as him. They provide a comprehensive assessment of your irrigation system. They fixed a few problems and sought approaches to keep costs down. When we settled on the invoice, I was very pleased. The total cost was more than fair. Guys like Dan don't exist anymore. Dan repaired a couple of things on my sprinkler system a couple of weeks ago. One of the issues kept happening, so we called Dan back. He committed to being here at 8:00 AM on Saturday. Sure enough 8:00 sharp (I am still in bed) Dan arrives, and then spends an hour fixing the problem. Then, he adjusts all of my sprinkler heads and walks me through the system and points out some things to keep an eye on. Then, Dan refused to take any form of payment, since he said he should have fixed it the first trip. When you call the company phone number you automatically go to voice mail. The voice mail says basically don't leave a message but e mail me, that is the best way to get ahold of me. I e mailed at 9am Thursday and didn't hear back until until 9pm Friday with only "Any chance to get some pictures." I expect better service response time than that for a top rated Yelp company. I read several reviews of Dan's and I knew I'd found the right person to repair my sprinkler system. When I called him he happened to be in my neighborhood and that same day he was working on my sprinklers. In the two years I've been in my house the sprinklers have never worked properly and within 30 minutes Dan had diagnosed the issues, made the repairs and adjusted the spray patterns of the sprinkler heads. Our sprinkler system had a big leak at the lowest point. It was eroding our lawn away into the creek below and we needed to get it fixed ASAP. Dan's Sprinkler got us scheduled within a week or so and fixed the problem in about 30 minutes. Dan is the man!!! Called Dan to come out and do a sprinkler blowout. Well it just happen to be last week when we got a big snow storm. Every place I called pretty much laughed at me for thinking I could get a fast appointment...but not Dan. He made it out to our house that same day. Dan and his team are amazing! When the team first came for a sprinkler blow out, they quickly were able to diagnose some issues with freeze damage. They took some photos, documented everything, explained it to us, and helped us set some time with Dan for that following weekend. That weekend, Dan came out and fixed the immediate issue, but then noticed there were a few things that were set up incorrectly from poor workmanship from our builders. While my immediate instinct was to panic, Dan calmly explained everything to us, what all of the issues meant, how we could protect the house and the pipes in the meantime, and repair as much as he could with the system as is. He then went on to photograph & document everything, later pulling together a comprehensive explanation that we can take to the builders so that they can make good on the incomplete system they put in. Dan went above and beyond! He could have just told us that he couldn't blow out the system as is, but he instead spent a great deal of time to make sure we understood everything. Dan was quick with the winterization service. He went through all of the zones twice to make sure all of the water was out of the system. I initially contacted Dan through Yelp and got a quick response. I really appreciate that he asked for photos/sketches to help him diagnose the problem and spent time helping me figure out what to do before he even came out. That is above and beyond in a big way. When he did arrive, Dan was very friendly and spent the time to answer my questions and point out future issues I might have. Even things like his invoice write-up were thorough. Do be aware that he charges a trip fee (advertised up front) that definitely bumps up the bill. I was a long-haul for him, so I understand, but those kind of add-ons always rub folks the wrong way. Communication was excellent throughout the process - such a rare trait these days. I did feel like the prices were extremely high, but getting my problem solved quickly and professionally was worth a lot to me. Overall I really liked Dan and he helped me diagnose and repair my problem with great communication and good responsiveness.
