I have been using Blue Water Sprinklers since Douglas started his business. Doug not only installed my system, he does my blow-outs and start-ups every year. The system Doug installed in approaching 15 years old and he has maintained it trouble free for all those years. He stays on top of his clients needs and performs minor tweaks to avoid system failure. Doug seldom charges for these adjustments and tweaks, for him they come as part of his outstanding service. Horrible experience. Paid a lot of money to have essentially nothing fixed. I thought I was hiring a professional who would take care of my sprinkler system. After Doug left most of my sprinklers were still spraying the sidewalk and others just weren't spraying properly. He replaced a couple of heads which was about $5 in parts and I was charged 20x that in "labor." I could have done this work myself. This could have been remedied with a little customer service but was basically brushed off. Total ripoff. read more

We never got as far as actual work. Because this was a referral, I waited the 2- 3 weeks for appt. to fix a year old sprinkler leak and a new from this summer. He was very nice, identified the new leak as likely a simple pebble in a valve and encouraged me to get new efficient nozzles and a controller. He even told me where I could find them to save money. I was happy to pay to have everything ordered a done right though. He wasn't able to find the old leak and that was costing me hundreds of $ (my main goal) but he said he'd find and do it all when he came back out. I realized after he left how close to being outside the 2 month leak adjustment window so I quickly purchased everything else online in hope's of getting him back soon. Marla responded that this was against policy (huh?). I had to purchase everything through them and also I needed a new valve @ $150 and labor was $90/hr. Still no discussion of the original leak. This was nothing like what was discussed as only half the valves were even located by him (only the front) and none of those 3 were removed to verify any damage. I thought she had the wrong customer at the first email or two but then she got rude about it, as if I had done something wrong. Considering I was willing to spend all this money, pay 1.5 times the Denver service avg. rate and do these unnecessary upgrades on top of the leak issue, it's perplexing. I mean how much was I supposed to be ripped off to make it worth their while? Fortunately I immediately found another service who did all the work same day AFTER opening every valve/checking all hoses and showing me issues, giving me options to fix or replace, installing everything and stopping THREE leaks. The cost was less than 1/2 for parts and 1/3 per hr. I just don't understand why it's so hard to track down honest services in Denver but I'll keep posting when I find a good one AND THE BAD ONES. Maybe if you make it worth their while by some measure not disclosed, BWSs does a great job. I wouldn't know! read more

Ok, the review I just read by Ben on 10/29/15 (less than a week ago) is telling. Now that I have had an interaction with Douglas, I am not at all surprised. Douglas came to my house to blow out my sprinklers this evening. I offered him a chair to step up into the crawl space, and as I turned away to get him a chair, he said "that's fine, don't need one" as he jumped in. He damaged my wall by putting a really large mark with his black boots, and chipping my drywall/paint on two spots where he kicked the wall. I told him about this, and he came out and said, "Ok, I'll just leave then." I told him that he couldn't just damage my property and leave. He left the house and drove off ignoring my requests for him to be held accountable. I will follow up with a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, but I just wanted to warn people not to use this lunatic. read more

I have used them twice. First to winterize my system and then in the spring to restart. They have always been quick to provide with an appointment when I was short on time. Very accommodating. Not closed (per previous poster). Doug came out last week to fix a line I punctured with a shovel. Maybe I could have done it... but he did it in about 5 mins, then adjusted and swapped out all my other heads to reduce over-spray. Recommended changes to make after plants die back (rather than dig them up now). Managed to squeeze in a visit to fix my neighbor's system too. Good price, good guy. read more
