We just moved to a new construction house last week. Lots of things to hang. My regular handyman couldn't come over the weekend and I wanted few things to be hanged quickly. I found Eric on Yelp. He has excellent reviews so I called him. I told him what I needed and he gave me a price. He doesn't work by hour. I don't know but maybe he overcharged me? Maybe this was the Sunday charges? People here says he is fair price. Here is what he did: 3 tv mounts and secure to a wall 2 narrow tall bookshelves It took him 1 hour and he charged me $350! On top of that, the master bedroom tv was not centered and the bolts were not tight enough. His explanation for the tv not being centered: the tv bracket was not long enough to reach the 3rd stud to center the tv. Ok, understood. But why did he hang it off center without explanation first and ask if that was okay? he hanged it and left it like that without offering a solution. My regular handyman came on Monday and this is what he did: He hanged: 2 pin boards 1 white board 1 full wall mirror 1 coat rack 1 medal display rack 1 surf board 1 painting 2 belt racks 1 broom rack 1 dry laundry rack 1 fire extinguixer It took him 4 hours and he charged me $300 That one hour of work was the most expensive job I have been charged and it wasn't even done right for one TV mount. Most of the contractors I had contacted were either not interested in my project or were already proposing something much more major and expensive than what we wanted or needed (which was just to fix our sliding garbage can cupboard, which had a broken track).
