Bagel w cream cheese. Doughy and tough.
    Daniel S.

Unimpressed. For a place within 2 hours of NYC there's no excuse for their baked goods not being on point. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was tiny, doughy and tough. I also ordered a jalapeño cheese scone. I was told it was locally baked and had my hopes up, but while its flavor was good it was doughy. The ambience here is nice. It's quaint and quiet. They have counter service. Service speed was good. I've attached my copy of the receipt. I felt very "nickel and dimed." I mean, $1.50 for a smear of cream cheese?? On the plus side, the espresso is great! Their bean has a tiny bit of bitterness blended with the right amount of sweetness. I'd stop by here for the coffee every time. But if I was hungry, I'd get that coffee to go and eat elsewhere. Bon appétit.

No substitutions. Don't even ask for them to replace a brioche with a bagel.

Time and time again, a disappointment. I tried to forgive them but they just can't seem to get out of their own way. 9 Years ago I tried to get a piece of pound cake that wasn't an end piece and they said, "no, we can't go out of order our boss will have our head. Now, if you ask for a substitute type of bread on a sandwich, they'll say no. And the attitude? This is the worst example of poor customer service ever. I didn't hear my mocha being called because it was very noisy, but I got up and picked up the wrong drink, and when I returned it (because it wasn't mine) the young lady barista said "I called out mint mocha," very snobbishly and looking like "shame on you, you drank it and now I have to throw it out." It's a very loud place and I never heard the "mint" part. Yet she looked at me like I was a pond scum, and I ruined her life because she'd have ti make another drink. I watched her remove take the drink that I had taken a sip of, and call out the proper name for that drink and then she looked at me, and made sure I saw her throw it out, while disgusted with me. No grace, no respect for the very people she's paid to serve. The most egregious of all failures is a 3" inch by 1" 3/4 Insult pumpkin cake. $6.75. No larger than a key! Nearly seven dollars for 50 cents of ingredients. Obnoxious, insulting and the last straw! Three people in line complained and two-seated also remarked how ridiculous it was! We approached each other and commiserated. They live in Millerton too. I'm done with this place. Done, done done. As a local, I'm disgusted and ticked off. And, the fact that feel they can do this without repercussions is a testament to their hubris, and the detachment they have with this community. This is not NYC. We are not just passing through. We live here. Be considerate of this. They won't get my $50 a week ever again.

    Receipt for a Roaster sandwich

According to the menu, a Roaster includes turkey meat. But not in our case, apparently! Sandwich we got was more like a BLT. You had one job. sheesh Also, the bread was tough like leather. Who wants to tear out their teeth eating a sandwich? not cool to serve stale bread on an $11.50 sandwich Despite all this, the BLT was good albeit not what we ordered and the iced mocha was also good. I think it was just an off day for these folks. Lots of hipster vibes, both good and bad. Would recommend to others but my first visit probably is my last unless I just want coffee. Check your order before paying is my advice.... to make sure your turkey sandwich has all its contents.

Had a drip coffee and the Fernando which was trippy. Jalapeños, tomatoes, eggs, bacon, cheese on incredible bread. Coffee was intense and delicious. Busy both times I visited.

Now that they took away all the favorite foods in the menu they have reduced this place to just another Starbucks.

Excellent cappuccino! The best espresso in the area, by far. We bought some beans to take home and also some local pear jam.

Well now, they're Miss Freakin' America. The space is gorgeous. And they aced the talent competition too. I almost exclusively drink iced coffee, and I don't always love Iced Americanos. But here, they were up front about the fact that it would be an Iced Americano, when some places are sneaky about it. I appreciate that. I also liked that they offered three single origins as options. I went with the Papua New Guinea. It was great. Krafted is serious about coffee. Now they have a serious location too. 5 Stars

This coffee roaster is tucked away on the side of a building and offers the best beans you will get anywhere. They roast their own in house and so far my husband and I have tried the Bantam, Mexico and Nicaragua blends and all are fantastic and so unique. Our go to order is the maple latte which I will rave about until the end of time to everyone. They also have a small but delicious selection of baked goods to choose from but our personal favorite are the chocolate chip cookies! The workers and owner are also so kind and have great recommendations! Krafted Brew Lab is a must visit!

This location is where the Shearwater beans are actually roasted (in 20lb batches, which counts as "really small" in the coffee industry). When I came by, I received a friendly and enthusiastic greeting from the personnel on site, who expressed no annoyance at being diverted from their normal wholesale activities. Shearwater has good beans, and those beans are roasted with care. I came in for some ground coffee that I could use while visiting Central Connecticut and walked away with a full pound of roasted coffee in the bean, 12oz of ground coffee, and a cold brew coffee to drink on my way back. The cold brew was delicious, and I liked the ground coffee (Honduras, I think) as well. The unground coffee made its way down to Philadelphia, where it's giving great pleasure to its recipients. Although Shearwater has espresso machines and some pour-over equipment on site, only the cold brew was available to retail customers like me. That was fair enough, but still somehow disappointing. If you're around Trumbull and are looking for some excellent coffee to take home, head directly to Shearwater without passing Go. Check their hours before you do, though; note for example that they close at 2PM on Fridays.

That being said, they always have at least one coffee brewing. On this early weekday afternoon, I got a 12 ounce of the Running Rapids (usually their cold brew) for $3.19. As other Yelpers have mentioned, there's no milk or sugar, leading to a pure and complex coffee experience. After letting it cool a bit, it was very deep and flavorful. It was nice to see a bit of the operation since the space is open. There are a few shelves with coffee accessories and a few stools for perching.
