I haven't been to the Irving Golf Club since it was Twin Wells. They renovated the course quite nicely and I would come back if I'm ever in the area. Only some holes were sketchy because of the layout (difficult to go from the black tees to the red tees or very close to another hole). The cart girl, bartender, marshals, and chef were sweet. The brisket sandwich meal was really good as the potato salad was probably my favorite item. read more

Winter golf here is horrible. The grass is yellow, I lost two balls bc I couldn't see them. If they were bad shots, I can feel better about losing balls but they were good shots right in the middle that I couldn't find bc it camouflaged with the yellow grass. It was also too windy today. The last time I played here it was Twin Wells and back then it was a goat pasture. So when I played there my expectations were not high. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The course was completely redesigned and it is much better. The greens had recently been aerated so they were a little rough but I can tell that they will be very good. They rolled true and there are no scared patches of turf on them. The fairways are decent and fairly green. They are a little firm but not bad. The only issues are with the bunkers as they could use more sand and a few of the t-boxes are not great. But overall this is a good track, the staff is friendly, the pace of play is real good. The course is not overrun with annoying tournaments. read more

I'm a long time Irvning resident and a long time golfer. I played Irving Golf Club when it was Twin Wells Golf Course. I gave up playing there because they let the course go completely down hill and it ended up closing down. NOT anymore! They've redone all of the cart paths, the fairways are as good as any course I've played on this year, and the greens, even though they were recently punched, putted true and should be spectacular in the next couple of weeks. We stumbled onto the redone and renamed Irving Golf Club in August, 2021. It used to be called Twin Wells Golf, in our opinion, the worst golf facility in Texas. But, we heard it had be redone by John Colligan, a course designer that has redone many tracks in the DFW area. So, we decided to give it a try. We fell in love with the "new" course. It had features of a links course as well as a traditional tree lined course. In 2021, we thought one of the greatest features was the enormous sunflowers in the deep rough. You felt you were all alone on many holes as they were so tall you couldn't see adjoining fairways. Sorry to say the decision to mow completely down and then impacted by the unusual spring and summer caused the loss of 99% of that feature. But, we love the course layout and upkeep. We've moved our group golf from another course run by the City of Dallas. The staff have been friendly and professional. They have a great bar & grill called The Hideout (Bonnie & Clyde history). Practice range, practice green and two putting greens are well maintained. They have a very good teaching center as well. We play 50+ regular rounds a year and host two tournaments a year there. Great decision we made to try it out, then moving our prime course to Irving Golf Club. read more

To be frank, I was not a fan of Twin Wells. My prior review says as much. However, the course has a new name and underwent a renovation. Played here recently and was pleasantly surprised with how improved the conditions were. The greens are SO much better: night and day. I read online that the course has the same greens as Stevens Park. Course: geared towards beginners and mid-level, but the low handicaps will still get some challenge out of it. The green speeds are faster than you would expect for this course, and there are plenty of elevated greens making accuracy a priority. That said, not a terribly long course, so again, good for the beginner. All in all, after swearing the course off, I could see myself coming back here or suggesting it to someone who is just picking up the game. Visited the newly opened Irving Golf Club (formerly Twin Wells with a million-dollar facelift) last Saturday for a golf class with a people and was pleasantly surprised. This is the only daily fee (ie, non membership) golf club I'm aware of in the area, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the grounds look--very well maintained. Class was Saturday evening (5pm) so we essentially had the course ourselves to practice putting and chip shots :) The golf shop has everything you need out on the green, and the bathroom was immaculate. The only downer for me was the lounge area was a bit plain and not too many snacks available at the bar unfortunately, so I was starving when I left. Overall, not bad, and I'll be back this weekend for another lesson :) read more

And this day of all days is the day the general manger because of the little power the city of Irving has given him deems it time to become the fashion police. I had a nice cool Nike golf shirt on no collar think tiger woods. And this dude wouldn't let me play the municipal golf course I have played since I was a kid. So I'll never go back guy was rude off the bat , making it some kind of game to find my name at 0700 in the morning like there was so many tee times at 0700. I really like this place. Fairways were cut winter Bermuda tight which made them roll forever. That can work for you by adding yards or against you and put water in play in a couple of holes. Greens were in great shape and true. Pace was great. Responsible price for an intermediate golfer like me. Saw the beverage cart plenty. Decent clubhouse. Recommend. read more

Apparently Irving Golf Club does not offer a reduced rate if you want to walk versus rent a cart. They use the fact that the course is two years old as the excuse for not offering a walking rate. I have probably played more than 300 courses over thousands of rounds, and this is the first time EVER, I have been told a walking rate did not exist. The staff was smoking so much weed in the cart barn you could smell it in the club house. The electric golf carts died on hole 15. The beverage cart barely keeps any items beyond Gatorade and water. Bring cash or they make you surrender your credit card until you finish the round. Greens are clean and breakfast burritos were good. read more

Haven't played this course in 15 or so years but tried it Saturday to see the revisions made. The starter said there was a delay from frost so you'd think they would have a plan for that. Nope! We had a 1:26 tee time and and once we finished the first hole, we sat at the number 2 tee box for 25 minutes. We decided to leave and threw away a $48 dollar round. Poorly managed in my opinion and not enough space allowed between tee times. I would not recommend playing there unless you like waiting. read more

My friends have been enjoying playing this course until the course manager,Fred, drove up speaking very condescending to them. They have golfed here many times in support of the re-opening of the course. They were not aware they had a time limit on the pace of play. There's a certain way you speak to people and it would have been better to communicate a tentative ending time to your guests instead of speaking in a condescending way. Poor communication leads to poor results, Fred. Word of mouth is a powerful tool. read more

Horrible golf course. Filthy areas, unkept courses and extremely bad customer service. When I arrived to the course no one was there. 22 minutes later this rude ass attendant/owner walks up. Explained I'd booked a tee time and he could not find it, seems I had mistakenly booked for the following day. NO ONE was there/or waiting behind us. He then only allowed the back nine at the course and then gave no refund for the next day I'd already paid for and charged me twice as much for today. Since I can't give 3 1/2 stars, I will round up to 4 stars. I really liked the layout. The course is built on the Trinity River bottom. Large groups of pampas grass give the course a resort feel, while the wide fairways give it a links feel. The course is surrounded by large trees and the Trinity. There are some absolutely beautiful holes. The course is maintained like a British Open course ( i.e. not every blade of grass is cut uniformly and the fairways have bumps in them). I played the day after a rain, so there wasn't much roll. The wind was blowing 25-35 mph with overcast skies. The high temperature was around 64. This was the first time I played the course and since the back tees measured only 6636, I played there. I shot 12 strokes over my average. Next time I play here I will try the white tees. read more

Twin Wells is a golfing anomaly - it's the greatest bad golf course that I can't quit going back to. Like most anomaly's, it can't be explained. Everything is here; great layout, well designed holes, good prices, easy to get to, not overly crowded - that's the good. The bad - the world's most indifferent staff; terrible phone service (when making the attempt to call for a tee time) and allowing anybody to tee off, at anytime, in front of a group that does have a tee time; the funkiest tee boxes (some are really good, some are so uneven you need to bring a level with you to find a descent spot to hit from); the bunkers - oh those bunkers, forget playing from 99% of them for they are no longer sand traps at all, they are erosion projects - just fill them in and make them grass bunkers and then you'll have something. And what's with the broken down mower on #10 - is it now officially deemed a hazard? It's the worst golf that's really good or the best golf that's really bad - either way, we'll be back to pay for our punishment again and again. read more

The course could be really great, but it's not. It's been badly neglected. There was trash everywhere, the greens were horrible and fairways not much better. We only paid $25 each, but it wasn't worth it. The lady at the snack bar was nice though. It's a shame to see such potential be wasted. Twin wells is a decent public course. The summers here can be rough and towards the end the fairways start showing the wear and tear. Most of the fairways are in decent shape and played well. We had a lot of rain the last few days so that has helped out a lot. Drainage was an issue in the bunkers so there was standing water. It's $41 a round including cart. The course is fun and presents a decent challenge. The driving range is a little short and is irons only which can present a challenge if you want to go and practice the long shots. I think it could be a 4 star rating without the water in the bunkers an a longer driving range. I'll be back to play again. read more

This course was in unbelievably bad shape. It was a complete waste of $40. On every other hole you were either hitting off dirt in the middle of the fairway, or had to dig through trash to find your ball. I would not recommend this course to a single person. It is a true shame because it has a great view of the skyline of Dallas, but you are better off just looking at the skyline the whole time and skipping the round of golf. read more

$20 course MAX! Weekdays $15. I recently played this course on a Sunday morning for $38.00. It's a flat joke for that price! I honestly felt robbed. Greens are in mediocre shape at best, fairways have weeds sprouting up all over the place, and rough is simply mowed hay. Then comes the bunkers... No sand and just full of grass. I can't recall the hole number but right in front of the tee box is a giant patch of dirt. I would understand if this was just construction or the course had some recent bad weather. I get it sometimes it can't be in top shape, but this course is literally a cow pasture. If I paid $20 weekend rate I'd probably expect it, but not same price as nice golf courses in the area. read more

Not terrible for the groupon rate... bunkers are bad, but otherwise course not in bad shape. They should rename the course Mosquito Gulch because they were relentless!! We were stopped by 3 different people before teeing off about the mosquitoes, alas the club house was sold out of spray. We played in the heat of the day and these things would not leave us alone.... Made for a horrible experience. I've played there before and haven't had bug problems but I will not be returning this summer without loads of bug spray. read more

To be honest this course is in the worst shape of any golf course I've seen and played. Fairways are disastrous, there is legit piles of trash all over the course. On 18 one in our group lost his ball on the middle of the fairway due to trash from the neighboring warehouse. The fringe and greens are a joke, tee boxes are laughable, I can honestly say I enjoyed nothing about this course. I wouldn't complain had I not paid $40 when there are far superior courses for cheaper. Great location but zero upkeep made this a very frustrating place to play. read more
