    Flan

Im sorry but people rating this place do they lack taste buds or is they figure salt is spicy. We ordered lamb sliders that was 1/5 the lamb was on diet, tried to mask gamey of lamb (when usually they aren't even gamey with sauces that lacked flavor. Patatas bravas 2/5 a plate of potatoes no sauce, really dry and lacked seasoning on potatoes on half the plate (don't know how that's even possible). Croquettes 0/5 1) they are not supposed to be a circular item with no seasoning 2) not supposed to be a big circle of potato 3) its supposed to melt in your mouth not fighting for the frozen cheese and ham that was inside. Flan 3/5 rough but taste like flan nothing special screams for me to get it again $16 worth of an item i can get a 2 pack from traders joes for 3.49 and it'll be much better in quality and texture Saving grace is the drinks probably want the people drunk to think the rest of the food is good. I liked my guy Josiah though

I regret not checking the reviews before dining here. While the service was good, the food was underwhelming and definitely not worth the high prices. None of the dishes really stood out.

Has my company holiday party here and the food was incredible. The chimichurri steak and peri peri chicken was so good. Lots of flavor. The risotto was also delicious. Very cute spot. Nice ambiance. There's a fireplace to the left when you first walk in and a big open bar. Staff is nice and attentive. But the drinks at the bar is expensive and their tablet that gives you an option to tip is set at such high percentages. So you'll have to go in and manually add your tip if don't want to tip 25% or 20%.

Very large space with multiple seating options. Booths along the parameter, tables of various sizes in the interior, a great bar set up with comfy chairs and a foot rest, so important, and a cozy seating nook in front of a fireplace - grab this if you can! Menu is quite large, a variety of tapas meant for sharing. What sets Irving Street Tapas apart is the multi international offerings. Not just small plates from Spain, which is the usual, but offerings from India, Africa, Argentina, Japan, Italy and more. The common denominator seems to be spice, very spicy! Be aware when ordering. We shared the spicy edamame, a very interesting take on a dish that typically comes just salted. I'd definitely get these again! Next came the spicy paneer, Indian cheese cubed and stir fried with sweet red peppers and other veggies, served along side jasmine rice. This dish as super spicy! We were two fisting our water and wine! To give our palette a break, we then ordered the Argentine steak with chimichurri and a plate of the patatas brava (potatoes.) The steak was a little tough, wish it had been marinated longer to give it more flavor. The potatoes were cooked perfectly, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. The sauce was surprisingly light in flavor, especially compared to the first two tapas we ordered. We couldn't decide on dessert but knew we wanted something sweet to end the meal. We decided to get both the tiramisu, which was excellent, and cannoli that took a unique spin on the ricotta filling by adding a hint of cardamom. Very nice. We took our time with our meal, enjoying cocktails and wine. We were never rushed and the various waitstaff that took and brought our orders, were all delightful. The owner even stopped by our table to say hello and check on us to see if we were enjoying the food. It was a cold Wednesday evening and it was also very chilly inside the restaurant. The space is huge so probably expensive to heat, and on a week eight where there were a lot of people, but far from a full house, it was cold. We kept our coats on for the first hour. Irving Street Tapas would be an excellent choice for 4 or more people so you can share a large variety of plates. It was good for two, but 4 dishes were plenty. Parking can be a challenge in this part of downtown especially on a weekend.

My boyfriend and I were in a restaurant hopping kind of vibe, so we really wanted to check this spot out since it specialized in tapas! Inside is very lively, with bright lighting and plenty of seating. Although I think the ambiance would have been perfect if it was a bit dimmer, it's still great for big parties! They have a fairly diverse menu too; with food ranging from typical American bites to some Asian foods. We got a mix of both: chili garlic edamame, peppered mushrooms, calamari, egg rolls, and crab cakes. Everything was alright--not great for a nice date night, but good to go with friends on a casual night. Our server was super amazing though--super sweet and I had a great time because of her. I would definitely be open to coming back to try some other items on the menu that I heard had good reviews!

This review is a bit hard to swallow... because I really went in, loving the vibe and ambiance. I saw the prior Yelp reviews but thought... can't be that bad. Starting with the positive was our server, Vanessa. she was friendly and exuded warmth. Very attentive and solid. From there it went a bit downhill... Tap water - avoid it. Not good. Cocktails: Hot toddy - bland and lacking in everything that makes the Hot Toddy comforting on a cold day. Possibly the not so great tasting tap water did it. Spiced orange old fashioned - a little too orangey but not bad. Prefer regular old fashioned Stratton - interesting and ok but not sure he liked it Old fashioned - missing cherries 5/6 times - Nuff said. better than with the Spiced Orange. Food - presentation was nice but flavor very lacking across all the dishes. Esp difficult because I've experienced amazing tapas restaurants with explosions of flavor and texture, so was def disappointed. The fact this was also Asian-fusion tapas - I def had high hopes... Crab cakes - 2/5 - hmmm not the best and seemingly not fresh Croquettes - 2/5 not very flavorful - very little filling, which might be okay, if it had flavor to complete the bite. Crunchy texture of the surrounding croquette but again, not much flavor. Miso soup 1/5 - too salty and maybe soy sauce? might explain the dark color. tofu is def frozen, not tender Patatas Bravas - 3/5 Chimichurri steak - 3.5/5 ok - got cold fast. Chimichurri flavor is good and def made the dish. Steak was prepared perfectly Mushrooms - salty but good 3.5/5 Gambas - 2.5/5 ok but I've had better Chashu - 2.5 5 decently good Potstickers - 2.5 / 5good but salty Meat pinchos - 3/5 cold cuts on bread lol Mujaddara - 2/5 cold and bland

When we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome by bringing my guest a drink on the house for their retirement celebration. I knew the menu but tried some new things! We shared everything. My favorite item I have to order each time is the Tuna Tartar. Its favors are rich but delicate. The presentation is perfect and my guest was impressed. I got the dumplings for her but if I had to skip something I'd do those. They were good but compared to all the other items we had, they were lacking. The only thing not pictured is our wagu braised with sweet potato. That was phenomenal. It pulled apart and melted in your mouth with every bite. We ended with two very different deserts, the strawberry mochi and whipped crem brûlée type desert. Both were tasty. Price range for all plus three alcoholic drinks was $165 not including tip. We were full and happy. Great service as always and it was full, busy house tonight inside the place. I wouldn't change anything other than trying some new things next time to add!

My favorite items of the visit were the sake selection, the whole fried snapper (best bite - amazing), the tuna tartare with furikake chips and caviar, and the super tender beef cheek. The mushroom small plate was also pretty good! I didn't like as much the milk buns, they were just ok and I only liked 1 (rooftop grown chive) of the 3 butter shmears it came with. Wasn't woth $6 per bun. While it was a quality cut of meat, the Snake River Wagyu steak dish needed salt and the sauce below it wasn't as flavorful. Perhaps needed cracked black peppercorn, or something to punch up that flavor. I wasn't as impressed with the octopus salad either. Very scant thin tiny octopus slices on top salad greens with lots of sliced raw bell peppers. You'd think it should be called a bell pepper salad with the amount it had in it, instead of the hard-to-find octopus! I couldn't detect a flavor note of the dressing either. Other dishes we tried were lobster bao buns and the seared scallop on jalepeno grits... they were ok but lacked a little flavor. I could not taste the jalepeno on the scallop dish, and the lobster slices were fairly scant and not very succulent. We split the strawberry mochi cake for dessert and it was fun that they added Pop Rocks on top, but the mochi was too tough and dense. A chiffon cake or something light would've been a nicer alternative to end a rich dinner. Service was excellent, and each person who spoke to us or delivered a dish was beautiful & friendly. Be prepared to share dishes when you come here, about 2/3 per person. Prices are on the higher side but I think it matches with the sophisticated ambiance and quality of food. Lots of free parking in the Cascadia parking lot just outside. Will likely come again down the road, for a date night.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.

Sweet and sour fried chicken - the small was plenty for us, since we had been snacking all day. They were lightly breaded, very crispy, and not heavily drenched in sauce, but still very flavorful. White curry with brisket burnt ends - light curry taste and the pieces of brisket made this dish so robust. The brisket was a bit crunchy at the tips, but it fell apart in your mouth and wasn't chewy or tough. Overall wonderful experience. My dudes - please wash your hands.
