I started going here 2012, today 8/18/26, at 11:45am an older female employee with glasses attempted overcharging. Upon my arrival I requested a menu of services, was asked if I wanted deluxe pedicure & I said sure as my last visit was this. After the service completed this same person stated $70 & I stated no it was $60 I paid last visit, she then stated I got a mask on my legs. I told her I did not ask for that service. (the young lady doing my pedi was having a discussion with the older female & at the end she put the mask on my legs) I paid the $60; I have spoken to the owner years ago and she is nice, disappointing to see her employees have become unprofessional. I've been coming here for years for pedicures and have always had a positive experience. The staff is friendly and I feel pampered. The pedicures last a long time, as well. I'm writing this review now because I recently went to another place in oakland that my daughter picked, for a mani/pedi. It was ok but then we felt very rushed at the end to move /leave, even though there were open chairs available. And also we felt rushed while paying. It kind of ruined the whole experience. The people I'm here are very nice but I went in here to get my nails fixed and an American Manicure which the Owner said that they could accommodate. This is my second time coming to Isabella Nail Spa and I'm pleased. I called about 15 minutes beforehand and was seated as soon as I arrived. They promptly asked if I wanted tea or water and brought fresh lemon water right away. The staff were very courteous, and my pedicure is absolutely beautiful. I couldn't agree more with all the other bad reviews for this place. I keep coming because is convenient close to laundry and grocery shopping but if the owner is there, ruins the whole simple experience of a simple mani/pedi. She is always in a bad mooth.. looking what to criticize and be upset ..she feels like she is doing a favor to customers. I thought after dealing with a global pandemic and almost out of business she would change, but clearly not. I had to come back today after a very bad pedicure done last week, it was done very poorly.. I did messed up a nail, but the lady that did the mani agreed she should do all the nails again. Even worse she had to do the whole process again, she did it so bad that looked as if I did the pedicure myselt at home with bad lighting. Not Only I had to come back and spent time again, but she asked me to move in a rush, and She pretended me to walk barefoot? And quick because she got another appointment? After I waited to dry more Than 15 mins, I left, I messed up a nail tripping on my own sandals and when I came back she was sooooo upset !!! What is the problem on fixing one nail???? According to her, She is an engenieer? Well that's the problem. She should go back to that industry. I have waited patiently before, just to have a rush mani/pedi by her, always in a rush. Her staff seems to be scare of her. I should have stopped coming here years ago, when they messed up my eyebrows, they only did charge me full amount and no apology, but the owner was showing me how to fix my eyebrows with make up set, that she tried to sell. I don't get my nails done often but once in a while I do and then I'm glad I went to Isabella. The women who work there a nice, the owner always welcoming. This time I had my brows waxed and tinted. I was nervous but the end-result was satisfying and very natural-looking. Very professional, perfectly matched my hair which is blended with grey. All in all a nice spa experience. I have been coming here for years! Uyen always remembers my name and is incredibly accommodating, fitting me in around my schedule. The environment is soothing with calm music and nature videos and I can read and relax. I also really value knowing the management is so knowledgeable and thoughtful about safety in nail salons for both the staff and the clients. That is very important to me in choosing a salon. Many of the staff have been here for years. They are always friendly and do a great job on my nails. They will also go above and beyond to fix it for me if anything is not perfect. do I have to give one star? Can I give no stars? We were looking for a spa experience manicure and walked into an empty salon with two techs. Instead of having comfortable chairs, they seated at what look like a cocktail bar. I asked for a spa manicure. She filed my nails. Did not buff them. Did not clip my cuticles. Rubbed some olive oil on my arms back and forth, back-and-forth. Never properly massaged them at all, and never massaged my hands and fingers even once. We had to ask for some weak tea. It really was a ridiculous experience. It ended up costing like $22. I would've paid them $80 or more for a really luxury experience and even asked for it and they looked at me like, "Huh?" how do these people stay in business. What a disaster. Never had a worse one. I was super unimpressed with the service I received at this nail bar. The staff all dragged their feet acting as if this was the last place on planet earth they'd rather be... not a very good vibe when you want to relax and get your nails done. My friend got a pedicure and the woman dropped the heel-scrubber on the floor and picked it back up (without washing or replacing it) and used it as if it never happened... no sorry, no "oops" nothing. Second to the poor customer service, the actual work is not impressive. I attribute this to their lack of passion for being there in the first place. My lady seemed like she cared about my nails, but in the end they came out as I posted in the photo attached to this review. Lastly, the price was 48 dollars for a gel manicure that didn't even come with a massage... sadly, I will never be going back to this place. There are far cheaper/better quality nail shops in the Bay Area and this isn't one of them. If you're in the east bay, look in to Citi Nails in concord. They are a much better salon! read more

THE WORSE PEDICURE WE HAVE BOTH RECEIVED IN OUR LIVES. Beyond disappointed. My fiancé and I made an appointment to pamper ourselves with self care for a pedicure and ended up leaving feeling defeated and overwhelmed with anxiety from the experience. Both pedicures were rushed through. My fiancé and I are well aware of the service industry and making sure that we tip more because of our appreciation of service (not because we have to or are expected to.) Pedicure A: I had to ask her several times to scrub the bottom of my feet to ensure she removed the dead skin. She seemed annoyed that she had to do more than her normal patting of the feet with the scrubber. Then she tried to mask the dead skin with oil so it wouldn't show. WHY?! When she began to polish my toes she did not remove dead skin from my toes and but instead put alcohol on it so it would not show. At that point I was over it and just wanted to leave. Pedicure B: Where do I start?! My toenails where filed crooked. When my left the spa my feet were extremely dry and the white polish was lumpy. When I impressed my concern she said "thanks for letting me know." She then proceeded to charge me $6 extra because I got a premium colors. I got white and my fiancé got clear polish. What about that is premium? I chose the only bottle of white on the shelf. We wouldn't go there if it was the only place, if it was the last option that is an hour from here, if it is the last spa on earth, or if Jesus or Buddha came down and told me go here my child. They then proceeded to tell me that they only accept cash or Venmo after the fact and overcharged me and I had to request a refund. We are new homeowners in the neighborhood and there is no way that we will be supporting this business in the days, weeks, months or years to come. Do better! read more

I was put in a back room ( that was not as updated as the front part of the business) like the kid on the back of the bus as if they were hiding the fact that there was a Black women in their business. The lady who did my pedicure seemed as if she was pissed off that she had to do it. My manicure water was no where near warm she just did not care. She was rough and she rushed through it all. At the end she finished and just walked away without a thank you or any directives. The younger lady was nice but I think she kept checking in too much to distract me. I really wanted to like this salon bc of how nice it looks . the lady's were very nice and so welcoming but the place could have been way cleaner. it needed to be swept and mopped along with where u put ur feet was dirty not even the clear plastic was provided the seats were just dirty and all needed a good clean ... I hope this owner understands what needs to be fixed so they'll have more potential costumers . I was told to go over the phone with no wait and I had to wait for 30 min before getting my hands done and ended up not getting my feet done bc of how long the process would have taken as well. I like locations that are honest about the wait time . ... i was in a rush and that could have been the reason why my nails came out bad but i made that clear over the phone. The lady who did my nails did a bad job even tho she was so nice lol i was very disappointed with the out come of my nails and time wasted. I won't be going back. So I need a mani and pedi and stopped in to this place. First off the pedi was not a pedi . My feet were soaked in cold water. I told her it was cold she didn't care. My feet were some what scrubbed and polished. There was no massage, no cuticle cleaning no towels nothing. My manicure wa the same thing. Was charged over of what I should have paid. So I made an appointment and came to this nail bar, and I specifically asked before calling if they removed ingrown toe nails, the lady told me yes, I come in for my appointment and then find out they don't have the tools to remove the ingrown toe nail, so as she is digging into my toe, my toe starts to bleed, and it developed a yellow puss coming out or both big toes, I will not be coming to this nail salon ever again! Due to the neglect on my feet and to the ingrown. My foot is now throbbing in pain and it continues to bleed with puss as I am writing this, I have pictures to follow this post, this place show be shut down, or not even open.
