So I decided to check this place out. It wasn't too far from my work. I went this last Thursday, which was three days ago. Got my nails done. They looked OK kind of disappointed, though they are very uneven. The nails are bumpy looking and curved down which doesn't make them look good at all whatsoever. So I was in the bathroom and I noticed my nail just like popped off out of nowhere literally three days later my nail came off for a full set. Acrylic. I paid $65 for these nails totally not worth it. I definitely will not come back to this nail shop. The nails took really long, and I felt like they were a little sarcastic and rude the workers. I came to Elegant nails and spa after a negative experience down Piedmont. I was immediately greeted by the staff and asked how they can help. The interior is clean, and, as the name states, elegant. :) The pedicure chairs are gorgeous, but I didn't give it a whirl since I was there for a mani. I saw Jenny, who was really sweet and gave me some good ideas. I wanted to start with something simple, saw some colors on the wall for display, asked her about it, and she not only gave me an overview of what to expect with chrome nails, but was not pushy at all and super transparent about the extra cost. Stay away from this place. I wanted to love it. My last visit however was the last strike. I went in for a Fill and "deluxe" pedi. Which is just some crap in a box. Sorry but it's cheap. The total of my services came to $160 which I was asked to Venmo. Which I did although it would have been nice just to charge my Card. Anyway that's neither here nor there. Long story short I paid $160 to their business Venmo. Confirming with the owner it was the correct Venmo account. After paying, using the restroom and exiting, I was chased down the street and told that Jenny did not receive payment. That the account she confirmed wasn't "her" account. I repaid her and immediately called Venmo about the charge. They let me know that the account did belong to the business and owner. They refunded me, but I felt scammed by the owner. I paid her twice for one service. $320 for a service worth $80 at best. Overpriced, unprofessional, scammers. Stay away. The owner upsells you to death and rushes all services. read more

My nails on my hands are naturally short and thin and they filed them thinner and down to the nub. They also are normally rounded, but for some reason they kept filing square. Nice ladies, they mean well and did a good job with the pedicure but my nails are not cute at all. Bad color choice on my part too. This is 7 coats, eggshell white and top coats (way too many). I have been going to Jenny for a while now and she and everyone else are awesome the salon is very clean and inviting. I have to get dip powder nails due to an allergy to gel and acrylic and Jenny is the only person in the area who does this flawlessly. My pedicure is always awesome the chairs are so comfortable and don't beat you like most do using the massage option lol the seat also has a warming option and my nails are beautiful and last so long. The atmosphere of the salon is warm and relaxing and I always have good conversations with not only the owner and employees but other patrons. Worst gel manicure I have ever gotten! The woman doing my nails was very sweet, but she was not skilled. Gel polish was applied very unevenly and she got it all over my cuticles. Also she rubbed my nails before they were fully dry and smudged them. She attempted to "fix" her messy job by applying additional coats of gel polish. I asked her to stop applying additional coats and she said, "Nikita okay, it's very thin." I am left with an incredibly thick very uneven and messy gel manicure. Deluxe pedicure was anything but deluxe. Sugar scrub but no foot massage. The woman brought out hot rocks and I assumed she would do the massage with those, but now she ran the rocks up and down my calf a couple of times and then proceeded to polish my toes. I will definitely not be returning to this over priced place! $83 + tip for a terrible gel.manicure and "deluxe pedicure" with virtually no massage! read more

I live up the street and truly wanted to like this place, but my appointments (and walk ins) have equally been disingenuous with my time and the rates of services. I usually request Jenni for my gel/tap manicures, and typically get whoever can take me for my pedicures, which usually has to be re-done by Jenny. Since I started going there in June 2024, I was initially impressed overall with the manicurists and atmosphere. But within a week, and since then, I've had to return to get chipped or broken nails repaired. I work from a computer for context. At first I wasn't bothered because I live within walking distance, and overall the new salon is clean, friendly, and happily takes walk ins. The last 2 visits have been very disappointing to say the least. I had a gel pedicure appointment made for a friday afternoon (several hours before I had a meeting), and spent over 2 hours getting half of the "deluxe pedicure" and had one finger nail that needed repairing -once again from my manicure just a week before. I was told to come back for the rest of my pedicure and the nail fix. They were clearly busy, taking too many people and walk ins, because the woman next to me getting a pedicure was even more frustrated by the wait time, quality, and cleanliness of her service. I finally spoke up going into the 3rd hour, that I needed to leave, and expressed I should not be charged for my first deluxe pedicure considering I didn't receive the full service, and I was ok with it because I was in a hurry. I walked out of there paying $90 + tip, for the pedicure and still no fixed finger nail. Mind you, my gel or tap w/tip manicures + tip at this same salon usually costs me $70-$75. After witnessing the woman's pedicure experience next to me, upset with her wait time and lack of sanitary procedures such as: no latex gloves, pre-used clippers and nail files, and no sanitizing of spa bowls, I've had no choice but to leave a review. I myself have been experiencing brittle nails, discoloration, and fungi issues over the last few months, and after reading some of the previous reviews, this is less of a surprise. Update: I cannot believe this review needs to be updated with yet another horror--DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. I NOW HAVE TO TREAT NAIL FUNGUS AND MY NAIL IS FALLING OFF ON MY PINKY AND RING FINGERS, AND PROBABLY MORE FINGERS BEING IMPACTED SINCE IT'S PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE. Other people have also complained of this. This place should be shut down. Now I have to spend even more money treating this issue. Reporting them to the BBB and sharing on Yelp so other people don't suffer like I am. Not okay to reuse the same tools, because this is what happens, so disgusting and unsanitary. -- I went to get a gel manicure and pedicure, and immediately noticed they charge $3 more for the manicure if you do both, vs just a manicure. Makes zero sense to charge more, when I'm already paying for that additional service. Then, when I'm picking out my colors, the manicurist was impatient and annoyed. I said I wanted 5 colors, and honestly I do my own nails all the time unless I want gel. Having to use multiple colors is not worth $5 per color, and they only told me that AFTER I chose the colors and they were working on my nails. Then, after the manicurist already cut my pinky nail, she asks if I want them long. Are you kidding me? I specifically grew out my nails, I've never seen a place cut without even asking. To add injury to insult, after I told her no, like I showed her in the photo, I wanted them long as they already were, she left the rest of my other hand long and I had to fix her sloppy work myself. Not only because she didn't fix the other hand, but also because the nails themselves weren't filed straight, and they weren't consistent. I finally had to tell her I needed to do it myself. After they realized I was not having their bs, and that their tip was probably in jeopardy, they became nicer and actually tried to give a half-hearted massage. Then, while putting my foot into the uv light, she put the device on my toe because she was careless. Overall, I was going to give this place 2 stars, but honestly they don't deserve even that. Really disappointed that I used my hard-earned money for this terrible experience. And yes even after all of that, and the manager whispered Do I want to give them a tip? I still did. But yea, not deserved, and kind of regretting it. read more

This place is NOT IT! I came here for years, maybe even a decade, and was a regular customer of Jenny. But after what occurred yesterday, I will never set foot there again. My friend and I asked if we could get pedicures together, at the same time. Jenny said sure, her mom was going to be there in 3 min (this was a damned lie, her mom took half an hour to arrive). We ordered deluxe pedicures, my friend got lavender and I got mint. Jenny was on the phone the whole time and was not paying attention. She put some Rose stuff on her and my friend said, "Woah, this is not what I ordered. I ordered the lavender." First Jenny tried to gaslight us and tried to tell us that my friend did indeed order the rose. My friend was like, "I hate Rose. Why would I order that?" Then Jenny says laughing, "Oh well, too late now! I already opened it." I'm sorry....WHAT??? That would be like ordering chocolate ice cream at an ice cream parlor and instead, they give you Rainbow Sherbet while saying, "Oh well, can't change it now, we already scooped it." Then my person (Jenny's mom) didn't give me the massage, which is my favorite part of the pedicure. Jenny tried to gaslight us again by telling me that the scrub was the massage. Since when is a scrub a massage? I said, "Jenny, you gave my friend a massage, but your mom didn't give me one. I started half an hour after her, and yet our pedicures are finishing at the same time. What's wrong with this picture?" She just kept doubling down and trying to say her mom did give me a massage (she didn't) and that she (Jenny) didn't give my friend one (she did). Unbelievable! It took the old lady forever to take the gel off my two big toes only. She couldn't figure it out for some reason. I didn't stay for a full mani/pedi as i had came in for. She was too slow and was wasting my time. I left without color or anything. Just an hour and half in there for her to take off the gel on my toes and fingernails. This review is long overdue, but this salon does great work! Jenny has done my nails several times and never fails to make them look amazing, no matter what funky designs I bring in. She recently convinced me to get tips with silk & dipping powder to make the nails stronger & less prone to breakage, and they looked great and lasted two weeks longer than usual!
