While Isabella's is a mainstay for Soaring Eagle Resortists, I was somewhat disappointed during my last visit. First off their menu was close to if not exactly the same as a year ago. In years past Isabella's has been a fairly nice break from the standard resort/casino bar and buffets reaching up to 4-5 stars. There calamari was previously very good whereas during this last visit it seemed really pedestrian. The rings were deep fried alongside whole pickled cherry peppers filled what I'd guess to be mascarpone. The bruschetta was so so as was the service. The prices are however very fair! For my entree I ordered the NY strip and their garlic smashed. The steak was cooked properly and the mashed potatoes were garlicky but could've used a touch of cream. They were a little too pasty and translucent. My dad had ordered the risotto of the day along with the salmon. He liked his salmon and we both tried the risotto which was more of a kitchen sink risotto offering sausage, mushrooms and a host of other ingredients (honestly, our server just kept adding things to the list that I'm guessing the chef needed to use up). It missed the mark. That aside, whenever we're at SEC we always eat at Isabella's at least one night so I'll return to see what has changed on the menu on my next visit. read more

Excellent meal with family. The new spring menu is delicious. The chicken tortellini soup du jour was excellent. Chef Shaun made a dessert for our daughter personally. He was friendly and personable and took a genuine interest in our experience. I enjoyed the shrimp and pasta as well as the delicious focus bread made there daily. My only suggestion for improvement is some the wines by the glass elections were unavailable with no replacements. Therefore the selection was limited. read more

We travel to Soaring Eagle on a number occasions. We have tried all but one restaurant, the steak house. The reason, because every restaurant appears to serve the same food items and the steak we have had at Isabella's is not that good. I don't know how to explain the food. Everything tastes processed/brined? I am SOMETIMES negatively effected by salt/preservative products in that I hold fluids so bad my body swells. This happens every time I eat here. We actually have found some great local restaurants close to the property that are outstanding. They really need to up their game. The new sports bar area had a few other choices that are somewhat yummy and in a pinch okay: Burger and the Wings. SOARING EAGLE USED TO SERVE THE BEST BEEF SANDWICH. THE ONE THEY OFFER NOW IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE ONE OFFERED IN " THE DAYS OF OLD." I remember dining at Isabella's when it initially opened and enjoyed the Italian selections on their menu. Decided to try this again after past problem with not getting gluten-free pasta and getting sick. Manager told me to let him know when I came back. Ordered gf pasta and the server told me they had it but couldn't guarantee it. What?!? Why bother then! I asked for Jack the manager and all server would say is "he's here". She couldn't be bothered to get him. I happened to see him walk by and called him over. He told me he was "on it" and went to the kitchen. I did get gf pasta which was a plus but for some reason they put onions in my alfredo sauce. Neither the server or the manager ever came by to check that my order was right or that it was indeed gf. Food tastes like Gordon Ramsey prepared it... if he were on crack and was cooking for his worst enemy. Best thing on the menu is water. If you decide to eat here, make sure it's in a McDonald's bag. Trust me, you'll thank me later. Our server was great, but management blows. Main course came out out wrong and instead of fixing it, they had us fill out a complaint form. Isabella's is the signature restaurant at the Soaring Eagle Casino. The prices are quite reasonable and the food was very good. They offer a Pasta Palate with several choices of pastas, sauces and meats or seafood for $10.50 and a Bruschetta appetizer for $2.75 - a bargain! Our waitress, Dawn, did a great job taking care of us. We will be back again! read more

Nice atmosphere, good service and good quality of food EXCEPT the cheapest greasiest bacon on the planet. At least mop the grease off to this supper thin low quality bacon. Now the manager was kind enough to try again for crispy bacon and remove it from our tab. Was a little crispier but dripping with grease we used our cloth napkins to mop the grease off as best we could. And still agreed nearly if not the worst bacon we've ever gotten at a restaurant. Absolutely awful experience. Was staying at soaring eagle for a conference and decided to have a nice dinner. Went in to Isabella's needing a table for six, the host said it would be a one hour wait- when there were clearly multiple tables available but the host stated "they didn't like to move tables together." This then immediately made one of the individuals in our group leave, now we needed a table for five and offered to "squeeze in" at a table that normally seats four. This seemed to be a HUGE annoyance to the host, but she eventually told us "your table is ready" and just expected us to go to the table on our own, instead of walking us there. Now we are at the table. It takes approximately 15 minutes for someone to greet us (and as I said it was not that busy). Once they greeted us, only one of us was still in the mood to pay ten dollars for a glass of berringer, so the rest of us settled with water- which immediately seemed to make our waitress upset. When she came back she immediately took our candle and flower because she needed room for the bread basket- didn't even consider asking us if we wanted it there. Then, she rudely asked us what we each wanted and seemed to have a poor attitude seeming "annoyed" at everything we said. Food came out- calamari, spaghetti with sausage and peppers, and shrimp Alfredo-- everything was VERY mediocre (when you are paying between 12 and 34 dollars per entree). Also two of the spaghetti dishes were the wrong sort of noodles, but they did not offer to take it back. The calamari had dried spinach underneath it with no sauce- probably in the worst three calamari dishes I have ever had. And don't expect to get any drink refills.... You would have to be able to find the waitress to do that. Let's not even talk about how the waitress felt when we asked for separate checks-- "ugh! I guess." This restaurant is not a casino bar, it is advertised and decorated like a high class restaurant, but when the staff is rude, unaccommodating, too young and unprofessional, and spend their time gathering around the hostess station talking, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. Extremely disappointed. Ruined the whole evening for all of us! read more

Worst breakfast ever! If you're looking for breakfast with no taste, seasoning or flavor what so ever, this is the place to go. All items except the toast and orange juice were completely tasteless (how can you go wrong there) from the steak in the omelet, the eggs, potatoes fried with absolutely no seasoning. One star because I can't give them less. Just left this place and it was by far our worst dining experience ever!! On the way out we were talking about where to go to eat it was so bad.....blehh!! It is advertised as fine dining, but it is anything but....trust me!! My husband and I ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo, the lobster ravioli, and the tomato cheddar house soup. It was all horrendous!! The fettuccine was drowning in a thin milky congealing cheese "alfredo sauce" that made my husband gag while trying to eat it. I had a bite of the tomato cheddar soup and it was just disgusting!! Cold, bland, and soooooo greasy and this is supposed to be their house soup....an abomination I say. And don't get me started on the ravioli, there was no filling in there....I checked believe me. And the tiny claw of lobster on top was the chewiest piece of plastic I have ever eaten. I took one bite and it got stuck in my teeth so I quit eating it...just horrible. Funny thing we witnessed: the couple next to us came in and ordered appetizers, salads, and entrees. When their appetizers came they tried a few bites of the spinach dip and then pretended to go out for a smoke and bolted because it was soooo bad. They legit left the restaurant and the waitress showed up with the rest of their food to an empty table. At first I felt bad, but after tasting the food, I must say they had the right idea That slop I would not eat again for free let alone ever pay for it again!! In all honesty, this restaurant deserves only 1 star; however, our waitress was very nice and offered great service. With that said, the menu was fairly limited. Anyway, the food itself was very bland. While the Caesar Salad was probably the only good thing I tried, I had to spend a minute to push off the endless mound of Parmesan cheese. The steak was not cooked as ordered (was ordered medium, but overcooked on all but the middle). The flavor was there, but the overcooked parts were too tough to enjoy. The pasta (anything with Alfredo or tomato sauce) were about what you'd expect and could find better at the Olive Garden or the local Italian Oven restaurants. The Alfredo in particular was mushy and bland. Overall, excellent service, but the food is not worth the trouble. It came off as a restaurant trying too hard to emulate an authentic Italian atmosphere. I would take the old water lily restaurant over this any day. read more

Ok so we have never been treated like we where the other night . Used to be one of our favorite places to go on our Anniversary. We will never go back. The food was HORRIBLE, my salad was brown and the main meal was not eatable, at one point the water girl tossed the silverware across the table at my husband, most of it went on the floor. never brought him clean ones. Like ALL restaurants in the casino, it's a swing and a MISS. I've tried almost every dish here (on someone else's dime thank god). The only things that are halfway tasty are the Caesar Salad and the Chocolate Ricotta Torte. Everything else is barely edible. The Risotto was VERY gummy. The Fish was bland. The steaks are 90% fat. The polenta fries had less flavor than a deep breath. Broccolini is their go-to side and it is NASTY! The pizza is flavorless and weakly topped. The list goes on. The service is usually ok, but even the dining room is a miss. The entrance is adjacent to the Water Lily Lounge which can get pretty danged loud with music or sports games on TV. Do yourself, and your wallet, a favor and eat anywhere BUT the casino. read more

The food and ambiance were mostly satisfying at dinner, and the service was so-so. The wait for the food to arrive at breakfast was unacceptable. I came with my boyfriend on a Saturday night for dinner, and then for breakfast in the a.m. I'll start with dinner: we ordered the fundatta appetizer and a bottle of wine. The appetizer arrived a good 5 minutes or more before the wine... surprisingly poor timing by the server. The fundatta appetizer was delicious and very rich and was accompanied by an herbed bread. My boyfriend ordered the hangar steak with tomato risotto and I had the smoked mozzarella salad and the chicken Gnocchi soup. Again, the soup was delicious and very rich. The hanger steak arrived medium rare as requestes but was disappointingly chewy. The tomato risotto and broccoli were great. My smoked mozzarella salad was lackluster and drowned in an unimpressive red pepper dressing. At the end of the meal, our check took quite a while to arrive and then to be paid out with a credit card. The next morning I had breakfast at Isabellas, since it appeared to be the only place to eat a hot breakfast meal in the hotel section of the resort. I waited about 10 minutes for my table and another half hour for my food (2 eggs, toast and Canadian. bacon, which totaled almost $10!) It was as if they weren't expecting many people for breakfast... on a Sunday morning?? For almost the same inflated prices, I could (and should) have ordered room service. read more

But we had a large party of 9 people, that included 3 senior citizens. Due the the "steak house" at Soaring EaGle not taking reservations we came to Isabella's because they would make a reservation. The first time we ate at Isabella's we were not disappointed and now a second time is equally satisfying. The atmosphere is fantastic and the wait staff is superb! Our waitress was a delight and deserved the 25% tip we left her. We sat down and were greeted with a smile and had some delightful hard bread sticks while we looked at the menu. The choice was the Chicken Parmesan with the Mozzarella salad. The Mozz salad was a little spicy for my liking so when the waitress asked how it was she immediately got me a replacement Caesar salad that came in a Parmesan Bowl. The Chicken Parmesan was the best I have had and the chicken was Parmesan crusted lying on a bed of of fettuccine with a tomato cream sauce. I have never left an establishment with such a "bad taste in my mouth" as when I did on Black Friday. I wanted to treat my sister, brother-in-law and 14 month old nephew to what I thought would be a nice dinner. The host was pretentious; reminding us how lucky we were to receive a table without reservations. I asked if they had seating for my nephew. They said they could accommodate the baby, who was well-behaved. Still, we all felt discriminated against because we brought a child with us. We could see the staff staring, pointing and rolling their eyes. I ordered a bottle of Moët for the table. The server couldn't be bothered to deliver proper bottle service. The menu was written in a chicken scratch font that was difficult to read. (Because one could not distinguish 'Cs' from 'Rs' and so on.) The menu was also not the same as the one provided online. The server, while not overtly rude, made us feel unwelcome in a restaurant which is essentially a glorified "Olive Garden." The price point per person was about $31.00. This would have been ok, considering we were looking for a more up-scale dining experience. However, the food and service didn't reflect the cost. They made us feel so unwelcome that we had them box up the food so we could return with our entrees to our hotel rooms at the Soaring Eagle. My brother-in-law is a Sous Chef. I have been a wine steward and have worked In brand development and marketing as an executive. We are not scourges who would look out of place, but nobody should feel as though their money isn't good enough to dine there. This was one of our worst dining experiences yet. read more

Personally, I like the food. The main downside is how busy/packed it gets. And as somebody who used to work in a restaurant, don't complain when you have more than 4 people and you expect to be seated immediately without a reservation. "Open tables" are often reserved for people who actually took the time to call ahead, so don't blame the restaurant when you're the one who's slacking. read more

We eat here usually about once a week. Good food and really well priced for what you get. Service is usually good, sometimes if you have a big table plan on being there for hours because new servers are unprepared for big groups. Some entrees can be bland but you can add salt and pepper. For $15 you can get an entree that comes with soup or salad and dinner rolls. Isabella's is much better than the steakhouse. read more

The cook dumps olive oil in to everything and then labels it "Italian". It is like dumping curry in to everything and calling it "Indian food". "Fat everywhere" is no way an Italian cuisine. Fried Calamari appetizer: sea food flavor was supressed by bread crust and oil. Stuffed tomato was excellent, fried vegetable leafs could be replaced by something less oily. Soup: The olive oil is spilt on the surface of soup as a decoration before the serving - all while there had been already plenty of fat dissolved from cheesy, milky content. My opinion: There are only few cases when ingredients go to soup just before the serving. Fats do not belong to those exceptions. They sould be cooked together with other ingredients. Rizotto: I appreciate generous usage of cheese but coupling it with too much oil made it too greasy. The interior, waitering, table clothes, the design of porcelain is pretty stylish. read more

Worst dining experience ever. Please just don't go here. The manager Josh is a skinny, rude punk who has no career in this business. Hostess Maddie was so rude and has zero personality. Drinks never refilled, calamari was soggy and under par for a "fine dining" experience. Waited for 15 minutes to be seated while the restaurant was almost empty and many employees walking around and nobody ever said "were getting your table ready" or "just a few more minutes"....I was appalled by the treatment of their guests. After an hour and half our food hadn't arrived, I assumed our server was butchering the cow in the back...needless to say we decided to leave and will never return. Save your money and eat at McDonald's....at least they use spring mix in their salads....this place uses iceberg...they do not have the right to call themselves a fine dining restaurant. read more

When a restaurant can't fix eggs to a very specific but simple order, they don't rate a return trip. Her over medium eggs had uncooked areas of white. Specifically ordered them well done! My omelette was bland. I did enjoy my rain toast. read more

Terrible dining experience! Ordered the Spinach and Artichoke stuffed portabella and received Spinach and Artichoke dip, it was good so we didn't say anything; the dip by itself isn't even on the menu. Wine glass came out with detergent spots on the bottom. We ordered the French Onion soup and it was the worst I've ever had, a weird colored gelatinous, greasy tasting mess. I got the Manzo Marsala, tenderloin tips with sautéed mushrooms and pasta, the meat and pasta were cooked well but the sauce had a strange taste I can't describe, it was not good. My wife had the Frutti di Mare, with scallops, shrimp, spinach, tomatoes and pasta. Again, the seafood was cooked well but the sauce and tomatoes had a weird sweetness to them, sauce did not go with the dish, it wouldn't go well with anything. Not sure why anyone would even consider serving this food, if there is a "Chef" he needs to be let go. At the end of the dinner my wife showed me her knives, which she had not used, and they both had crusted food on them. We didn't even bother to point out the filthy silverware by this point. The server was nice, but he should have caught the spotted wine glass and dirty silverware. Paid $70 for a truly awful meal, we would have been better off getting a couple of slices of pizza at the casino. Do not dine here! read more
