    Old Fashion. Amazing.

Went to try this place since the recently remodeled. Very nice restaurant with amazing service. Food was very good and the price point was perfect. The old fashioned I ordered was actually one of the best I've had.

    French toast

This restaurant is part of the Elk Ridge golf course club house. It is set with the course and the views are green and enjoyable. I ordered the Challah bread French toast. It was nicely presented with a drizzle of blackberry coulis. There was supposed to be toasted walnuts, but I didn't see any. It looked better than it tasted. I thought it was kind of dry, although a good dose of maple syrup helped. I also had hash browns, they tasted good but had a bit too much oil left on them. The plate was all oily when I was done. My wife got the oatmeal. It was good with the cranberries and brown sugar. The service was good, but I forgot to present a coupon that we had received from the Carson Hot Springs Hotel until she had started to ring it up and it was too late. She only suggested that I come back again to use it later. My fault for not showing it earlier, but I also felt a little disappointed. There was also an employee talking to another employee during the whole first part of our breakfast in a loud voice. It was a bit more than I wanted to hear. Maybe those conversations should take place in a more private area. I gave it 4 stars because the food was presented well, and I only had the dryness of the french toast to complain about. I might go back to try the lunch or dinner, but I'd probably skip breakfast.

    View from table

Even though there was construction going on, the ambience was extremely pretty and nice and we were almost the only ones there. They served us breakfast, which was delicious and the view was also amazing. they went out of their way to service breakfast even though it wasn't morning anymore and the server was extremely welcoming and nice. Definitely recommend also we got 10% off because we were staying at the Carson Hot Springs.

    Caesar salad

Ali as a server was phenomenal and the food was delivered very fast, hot and exactly to order. Delicious onion rings appetizer, Caesar salad, and steak!!!

Great service, great drinks, and the best pizza I've had in decades!…read more The beers Backwoods makes are all delicious and smooth-drinking. The service staff was all exceptional. But the pizza! Off the charts!, FULL REVIEW of all Services: If anyone who enjoys hiking, river fishing, or just a general outdoor-focused vacation wants a good, simple getaway with their spouse/loved one, check out the Backwoods brand in Carson, Washington (just north-northeast of Bridge of the Gods/Cascades Locks). Backwoods Cabins offers a really great overnight stay option. The 8 cabins there are all basic "two-room" designs (bedroom and attached bathroom, and a living room / mini-kitchen room). The cabins sport king-sized beds, a gas fireplace and outdoor fire, a mini kitchen with refrigerator/freezer and microwave (no stove/range). I think 3 of the 8 cabins welcome dogs. The Backwoods brand also owns Backwoods Brewery, which is just across the road from the cabin property. They have great microbrew beers (from light lagers to GREAT stouts!). The brewery also has a smokehouse, with fantastic smoked brisket, pulled pork, and house-made sausage/brats. But even better, the Backwoods Brewery offers the BEST PIZZA I've had in decades. The pizza dough is a perfect balance of flavor and texture. It's not too thin and not too thick. The crust is chewy in the middle, with a great crusty edge and base. The red sauce (they also have a white sauce we didn't try) is thick and rich, with a few tomato chunks. It's got a slight spicy bite with a sweet finish. They also have some unique house pizzas. We tried the Whistle Punk - Red sauce, bacon, smoked brisket, peppadew peppers, sweet onions, fresh mozzarella rounds - and the Pepperoni Express - Red sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, tomatoes, banana peppers, smoked mozzarella. Both were outstanding. I'd go so far as to say both Donna and I deemed these the best pizzas we've had in 35+ years (noting that our first date was at a pizza joint in Fife we both thought was the best-ever pizza). If you stay in the Backwoods Cabins, you get two coupons for free drinks at the brewery (beer/wine/cider/cocktails) as well as an assortment of snacks for your hiking adventures, and a full S'mores kit to use over the gas fire pit. And if you are in a dog-friendly cabin, you get complimentary treats, and water/food bowls for your canines.

Tried the Tree Hugger 10" GF pizza and it was genuinely tasty. The crust? So good. The staff? Kind. The price? About $20, which felt a little "ouch," but the pizza did not, and that's what matters. The place was fun and great ambiance. Take a fun trip and go try this place out.

First of all, the drive into the town was gorgeous and scenic. What a restaurant with a view! Easy parking and plenty of seating on the inside. Second, the staff were incredible. From the moment we walked in, the young lady taking our order was friendly, welcoming, and helpful with our questions as non-locals. Another co-worker was helpful in helping us to get seated and bringing out food/drinks. Wonderful service, thank you! Third, the food was AMAZING! Everything we ate was fresh, hearty, and so flavorful. We shared a cup of clam chowder and it was so creamy and delicious. My husband got the fish and chips with the Cajun seasoning and it was so scrumptious! And very filling! I got the smoked salmon po'boy and it was so decadent. I loved every bite and walked away stuffed! And, on top of it all, prices were so reasonable for such fresh fish and ingredients! If we are ever in the area again, we are going to be sure to stop by Brigham Fish Market. It is worth every minute of the drive, every dollar, and every bite! Thanks for an amazing lunch!

The place is extremely unassuming inside. Very clean but hard to define just based on the decor. We were the only people eating there which gave us pause but we were too interested in eating to care. A friendly local arrived soon after us. He loves the place and eats there several times a week. He also lives next door so there's that. Server is a delightful immigrant from Vietnam who shared her whole life story with us. Efficient and responsive. I ordered a BLT with extra crispy tots. This classic was excellent, just the right amounts of bacon, thick tomato, fresh lettuce and standard wheat bread. A correct amount of mayo too. Nothin' fancy, just good. The tots were the crispiest I have ever experienced. I always prefer extra crispy. These were crunchy at least halfway in! What others ordered: Denver omelet with crispy hash browns, small stack of fluffy (looked like soufflé ones!) pancakes and a bowl of won ton soup. The star of the entire meal was this soup! When it arrived, the oohing and ahhhing began. Huge bowl, absolutely crammed with gigantic wontons. Why so big?? Each one held a whole shrimp with pork wrapped around it! The soup was full of fresh veg and the broth was complex. I was hit with entree envy. My cousin ate steadily from that bowl for at least 15 minutes. It was still 2/3 full! In fact, she and her husband ate the rest for dinner that night!! All in all, we were delighted with our discovery. No, they offer the impossible burger and the black-beanburger. OK - they are vegan, sure, but they are not what we like. Now they offer a variety of specialty burgers with catchy names. Like the Pendleton. The description sounded good: "Our 1/3 pound char broiled beef patty, covered in House BBQ sauce, melty cheddar cheese and crispy onion rings, on a toasted bun, served with French fries." The "covered in House BBQ" turned out to be about a table spoon of BBQ inside of one of the onion rings. I had also ordered their clam chowder. Look on line, picture shows what looks like a creamy clam chowder. What showed up could best be described as thin. Think skim milk. Taste was not bad, but dang it all, it used to be legendary clam chowder. We've been going to this restaurant for many, many years. They used to have a salad bar, they used to have great relishes, now, well, we tried the Brigham Fish Market earlier today and will not be going back to Bridgeside. Pity.
