We used to love this restaurant. They offered a house-made veggie burger that was amazing. Clearly someone there understood what vegetarians like in a good burger. No, they offer the impossible burger and the black-beanburger. OK - they are vegan, sure, but they are not what we like. Now they offer a variety of specialty burgers with catchy names. Like the Pendleton. The description sounded good: "Our 1/3 pound char broiled beef patty, covered in House BBQ sauce, melty cheddar cheese and crispy onion rings, on a toasted bun, served with French fries." The "covered in House BBQ" turned out to be about a table spoon of BBQ inside of one of the onion rings. I had also ordered their clam chowder. Look on line, picture shows what looks like a creamy clam chowder. What showed up could best be described as thin. Think skim milk. Taste was not bad, but dang it all, it used to be legendary clam chowder. We've been going to this restaurant for many, many years. They used to have a salad bar, they used to have great relishes, now, well, we tried the Brigham Fish Market earlier today and will not be going back to Bridgeside. Pity. read more

Many of my luncheon group (bringing them here today), have been here before, and know exactly what to expect. As for me, they don't take reservations. I didn't know, you have to order at the counter. For me, those would be negative, for the group. But, they were OK with that! We came for the view, I told them. Hubby and I both ordered the Reuben Sandwich with the soup of the day, and it came with fries. I didn't care for my soup, it's a bit spicy! I gave mine to hubby. Clam chowder was excellent. Shrimp basket was ok frozen breaded shrimp meh, was ok for frozen shrimp. Inside was very interesting decor was about Indian tribes picture artifacts. I belive the Indian tribe owns establishment. Service was basic order at front register and have a seat and a number. They bring your food to you. Best part was the Yakima tribe selling smoked fresh salmon and whole fresh salmon on ice in parking lot. Bought some smoked salmon was very very good . We bought from 2 young Indian girls . The view is really what makes this place worth a stop! Food is quick and good, you order at the counter and they bring it to the table. We got there at 8:30 am on a Friday and it was almost empty, with quick service! We had their breakfast sandwiches which were simple but very yummy and well priced. read more

I had been recommended to eat here specifically because of the bridge view. The view was indeed beautiful. That was the main attractant for many I believe. I was not really impressed by the restaurant itself. You order at a counter, grab a number and seat yourself. It was extremely packed so you have to kind of hustle to claim an open spot. Drinks are self serve and the OJ tasted similar to sunny D. Staff were flat and seemed impatient at times- particularly the busser. The food was not bad, but not amazing either. I paid $21 for pancakes with bacon, orange juice, and an extra side of bacon. Tip was not expected but there was a jar on the counter. read more

We walked in and there was a pretty good menu and they still served us even we were there 20 mins before closing. I got some food and it was pretty solid, nice and filling the person who was serving us gave us a free cup of sauce when requested. There is a great view of the columbia river and The gods bridge. Came from the booneville dam right before this. me and my family were extremely hungry and expecting a good lunch. We walked in to a massive line, even though it's 130. what really took me off the edge was the prices though. We were looking at the menu, and the prices are ABSOLOUTLY outrageous. I know inflation is a thing. but $9 for 2 chicken tenders is CRAZY. INSANE. one of my family members then wanted a little bit of extra ranch because they gave us a small cup. I walk up to the counter, and ask for a cup of ranch, and they say " 50 cents please". 50 cents for some extra ranch!!?? We attended a meeting at nearby Slamania Lodge and took the toll bridge across the river to try out Bridgeside for a nice diner breakfast. Hot generous portions hit the spot with spacious window booths and views of the Columbia River. Nice selection of pie slices and strong coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful. read more

Walk in and order your food and beverage, then find a seat. I ordered the black bean burger with fries $16.00. I was surprised with the double patty with cheese. It as delicious, held together nicely, had a little guacamole on top. The fries were plentiful and fried perfectly. Our view of the river and Bridge of the God's was beautiful. Came in today to have a small breakfast, and the waitress refused to let me order the dish I wanted because it was on the '10 and under' menu. I recently had multiple stomach surgeries which make me unable to eat much. Even the kids sizes I'll normally leave half behind. I explained this and she still refused. "How many are in your group?" Our visit to Bridgeside started with this innocent-sounding question from the staff. We soon found out that it was anything but innocent, as we found that this was the company's way of tacking on an 18% gratuity to any "group" larger than 8 people. Probably a way to add to their profit from groups of elderly people on your buses. The food was mediocre at best. My 11-year-old got a kids burger ($6.00 = $7.05 with the family tax), and literally started crying when it was brought to us, as the portion was not even the size of a McDonald's cheeseburger and small fry. I switched with him and ate the smaller portion, giving him my "larger" burger, which was still on the small size, and not nearly what one would expect from a burger that cost $14 ($16.50 with the 18% family tax). Apart from the prices, the food also was not great. About the quality one would expect from a low-budget political fundraiser potluck or drive-through fast food. Definitely not restaurant quality. The restaurant recently changed its hours, so you can no longer eat dinner at the place. The staff does bring your food to your table when your order is ready. If you have never been to the restaurant before, however, be prepared to get your own drinks. I didn't know this, and went back to the register to report that we didn't get our drinks, and was told where to get the drinks for ourselves. The view from the seating area is spectacular, and there is outdoor patio seating if you want to go and find it. Directly beside the "Bridge of the Gods," the setting is idyllic. If only the business were run in a similar fashion, with quality and integrity. Unfortunately, Bridgeside Family Dining cannot be recommended. If you must stop, don't bring friends, or you'll be charged an extra 18%. read more

A local recommended this place and it was awesome. You order at a counter, multiple awesome choices, get a number and pick a place to sit. We chose a booth with epic River views. The service was outstanding and food arrived quickly. Incredibly huge portions (I'm embarrassed to say we cleaned our plates) that were above expectations. Had not been here in 20yrs. No surprise here, you order at the counter from a large menu hanging behind the cashier. After one places an order, you grab your silverware and napkin and head over to get your own coffee or other drink's including water. I've posted a picture from our table, beautiful view. Our omelette's were brought promptly to our table. Included with our eggs were crispy potatoes and 7 grain toast accompanied by what appeared to be homemade jam. Omelette's we're filled with spinach, sharp cheese and bacon, and we're very well prepared. I'd have given 5 stars but this isn't my favorite way to order. I like a menu to peruse, as I'm reading what's on the wall I get the feeling I'm holding up the line. Place was very clean, but we were there at 7:45 am. This is my go-to place when traveling along the gorge. It's cafeteria style with food you'd find in a diner. If you want healthy food this isn't the place for you. The seating has an incredible view of the Columbia and bridge. That's my main reason for stopping here. Very relaxing after a long drive. The staff is always pleasant. They do have fresh pastries. There's a little shop adjacent where you can find great greeting cards and gifts. Easy on and off from highway. Very picturesque. read more

This place got everything, even their view by the windows is great you can see the waterfront. My first impression was that this place when you go in it is like a school cafeteria. Pretty classic and throwback, which I like. They have ton of great foods to choose from their menu. It was a hard decision to make. I end up getting their Country Fried Steak with Gravy! Huge portion and it turn out to be delicious!!! Not to mention that the gravy is what I liked the most. Whatever their secret recipe is. It is perfectly matched with the fried steak. Would you like a Million Dollar view with your burger? Then Bridgeside, formerly Char Burger, is your place! The food is what one would expect at a roadside diner; it's the view that makes it spectacular. Nestled under the OR side of The Bridge of the Gods with views if the Bridge and Columbia River, it makes for a delightful spot to grab a bite and take in the gorgeous scenery. Since I drive to Hood River often, and always take WA hpHighway 15 there, Bridgeside is the perfect place to stop, refuel, and truth be told, to use the restroom! They also have a gift shop with awesome cookies and they are famous for their fudge. Service is always friendly and efficient; during Covid they are taking all precautions which means there are less tables available. For some reason they are only serving indoors; they haven't set up any outdoor seating. But there is plenty of space in between tables. The food is good and decent price, think diner menu: burgers, fish & chips, omelets, sandwiches, salads, meatloaf, soup - the list goes on and on! My go to is a bacon cheeseburger & fries served in a basket atop quaint red and white checked paper; you just can't go wrong! Delicious. A friend of mine always gets the milkshakes, which they are also famous for and their pie and ice cream. The decor is western and the woodwork amazing. Check out the bathroom doors and the metalwork. It's art. After a stop in the gift shop, I always take a quick stroll along the river on the walking/bike path and under the bridge to take in the lush surroundings and snap pics of this gorgeous scenery. You can also walk across the Bridge for even better views. The parking lot is huge and easy to get in and out of and back on the road to finish your journey. read more

Came here years ago just past the Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River by the bridge to Washington. Food is not fancy for this local place but both the fish and chip and BBQ pork sandwich was done right. The large bowl of chowder was good value too. We had two glass of their porter. read more

Not pretentious at all. Sort of an Everyday Folks kinda place that serves good food quickly. It's got one of the best views of the Columbia Gorge and especially the BotG bridge in that area. I've been coming to this location for decades (previous owners had a cafeteria style layout. Views and food have never disappointed me all these years. Today we split their salmon patty burger - they do their own salmon patty and it was very lightly fried (perhaps pan fried) but substantial. and without the fillers some places add. We're not big eaters so 1/2 the sandwich and splitting the fries that came with it was filling. read more
