The spicy Hamachi hand roll was not spicy at all I don't think anything that said spicy was spicy. It is very expensive even if we went for happy hour. Just for myself the pictures that I shown cost me $80. And that is just for me. It was very nice and and kind of noisy but that's average the place was clean. So I guess I gave it because it is so expensive and if you want me to come back and afford just me again I don't think so not for $80. read more

This was one of our favorite spots during out stay in Kihei. I recommend this spot if you're craving sushi but there's that one person in the group doesn't like to eat sushi or raw fish. They have a variety of other food items like ramen, kalbi ribs, steak, fish n chips etc. You can set a reservation or walk in. We loved the interior and view. I got the sake/salmon sashimi and nigiri combo. My boyfriend tried their chow fun. First time on Maui visiting my boyfriends family, and his older brother recommended Isana to us. Coming from Oahu, Isana gave me very much doraku vibes, which was nice because I do like doraku's. It would've been a good idea to make reservations before coming, because they really are a busy sushi spot, especially if you're with a big party. We waited around 40 minutes till we got seated, but it was worth it. We dined here for the first time today at the recommendations of a few acquaintances. Luckily we were seated at the sushi bar and we arrived during happy hour. Andy was our server and she made some great recommendations when asked what we couldn't leave there without trying! We had the entree special which was a raw fish dish and the crab rangoon and the tuna avocado roll and finished with some spicy tuna nachos. It was all delectable. The fish was clearly very fresh. We were told to come here by a few locals. I think it's a more casual spot for sushi. We found the rolls pretty standard with, personally, too much rice. I don't like when there is a double roll of rice because I can't taste the fish. We did a specialty and a couple standard rolls. They were ok but not something I'd return for. Come here for happy hour from 3-5pm & 9-10pm! They have a great select of sushi to choose from. We lined up at the door right at 3pm and got seated right away for walk in. You can also make a reservation. We got seated near the window at a very small table. Service was great! Checked in and got a free miso soup! We started off with oyster shooters and baked mussels. The oyster shooter was a little too much on the sake, but that is just my opinion. Baked mussels were really good I love how it came with 4 mussels. Usually you get just 2 at other restaurants. We got the eel and cucumber hand roll, spicy salmon hand roll, spicy tuna roll, spicy hamachi roll, California deluxe roll and a salmon nigiri. We asked for uni, but they were out. I called this evening to see if people without reservations could come. The hostess said there were high tops in the sushi area and bar seating that were first come first serve. I was coming with my family so I figured a high top would be fine. Got there and she said the high tops are bar seats. What? Drove there for nothing. And hostess, a high top is this. If you're on Maui, this is the perfect spot for a fancy date night. And it's an understatement to say it's the best sushi on the island. Food: my favorite was the fried calamari and the white dragon roll. All their food was great, fresh sushi and flavorful sauces. They have a good selection of cocktails as well. The prices are fairly reasonable for the quality of food. Hamachi kama is my go to & also their limited baked scallops from off island. When we arrived, it was 2:55pm and the hostess asked us to continue waiting outside while they completed their sanitizing process. No big deal. There were several locals and other eager diners who waited patiently with us. By the way, call ahead for a reservation -- it will make things a lot easier for you and your party. Once we were welcomed in, we were quickly seated by the hostess. I noticed the tables were intently spaced 6 feet apart and the entire staff were wearing masks. The restaurant is a huge space -- adequate for a group of any size. There's a full bar but I don't believe they are entertaining bar seating quite yet. Anyway, we ordered everything on their HH menu -- literally, every roll. We also added a Rainbow Roll, Fried Salmon Belly, and a couple of oyster shooters. The fish was fresh, everything came out really fast, we were there for about 35 minutes and spent $275.. they didn't have any tables available even though it was pretty empty? I think you can only get the sliders during happy hour but they should add them to their regular menu because they are so good! The sushi was as always and nicely discounted for happy hour prices. We came here and got the salmon avocado roll and the chef's choice platter. The sushi rice was yummy (and I loveee sushi rice) but unfortunately the chef's choice dish left a lot to be desired for. I was expecting more variety of fish, being more expensive than the chirasi bowl, I was hoping for as much variety as a typical chirasi bowl if not more. There was only 5 types of fish and 0 frill. My review is purely for happy hour. I have yet to come outside of happy hour since they opened under new management/ownership. I've been to both happy hours 3-5pm and late night, 9pm-close. No preference. You receive bomb service at any time. It's best to call ahead just in case they're busy but they're super accommodating. They have a great selection for Happy Hour and everything comes out fresh and tasting delicious. - I personally am not a fan of any of the desserts they offer but they have a great menu of other things to choose from! The space is nice and open, they have sanitizer, and do temperature checks upon arrival. They're usually super quick with both food and drinks. A few times we sat at the sushi bar and they're so quick to make you another roll before your waiter/waitress can even put the order in. It's great! I love that they offer takeout too. If they're super busy, you can order takeout and head over to the beach right across the street. There's ample parking and a great location. You can't miss it! read more

Came for a nice view and amazing dinner. When we arrived the restaurant was bare with a few tables taken along the front windows. We were early for the reservation we booked 30 mins before (mind you there were open reservations for every time tonight) and when we asked the hostess if we could wait and have a seat with a view (as that's what we came for) she told us no since we were a party of 2t those views were saved for larger parties (4).
