My wife and I have been devoted fans of Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen for years, especially their Kirkland and Lynnwood locations, so we were excited to try the Queen Anne spot. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we were looking forward to the bold flavors we've come to love. The visit started off a bit oddly. The front desk server, Tar, asked to see my wife's ID--even though she's 36 years old and we weren't seated in the bar area. It felt inconsistent, especially since younger guests nearby weren't asked, and it's something we've never experienced at their other locations. Unfortunately, moments like that made us feel singled out, and honestly it sometimes feels like they tend to pick on Asians, whether intentional or not. That feeling alone made the experience uncomfortable and will likely make this our last visit to this location. That said, the table service was excellent. Moo took great care of us, and Cece from the bar was attentive and kept our water filled throughout the meal. Unfortunately, there were a few moments that took away from the experience. While I was taking photos of our dishes, a young staff member alongside Tar appeared to be giggling and mocking me, which made things uncomfortable. It may not have been intentional, but it didn't feel professional and only added to the awkward atmosphere we already felt. Food-wise, there were some inconsistencies. The chicken didn't taste as good as we remember, and several plates had visible fingerprints, which was off-putting. The galvanized metal plates also gave off a slightly unrefined feel--more like cafeteria-style serving ware. Additionally, the sticky rice, which is usually presented in a traditional bamboo basket, was served in a Ziploc bag, which felt like a downgrade in presentation. On a positive note, the papaya salad and pad Thai were still very good and delivered the flavors we expect. We'll continue supporting Isarn, but we'll likely return to the Kirkland or Lynnwood locations next time. Sadly, after this experience, this Queen Anne visit will probably be our last. read more

Isarn has become our new go-to Thai place in the area, especially when we are wanting a little more than your average take-out Thai. Isarn's flavors and menu are unique and I have yet to have an item that I did not enjoy. We have done both take out and dine in here. I would recommend dine in if you have the chance as Isarn also has a great cocktail menu and having the food fresh out of the kitchen is great, but most of the items are also take out friendly. They don't accept reservations for parties less than 6, and this place can get busy especially on weekends, so eat early if you can to beat the crowd. The staff is always friendly and helpful and it is a polished, modern restaurant that feels both laid back, but like a nice place for a decent date night. If I have I recommend one item, the tropical curry is phenomenal! The pineapple and lychee in the curry really come through and it just adds this additional layer to the curry that is unique to any other curry I have tried before. But, I have not had anything on the menu I have not enjoyed so highly recommend stopping by here sometime! read more

We ordered quite a feast, and it's a fantastic spot if you're looking for flavorful vegetarian options. We got the tofu fried rice, garlic mushrooms, pad thai, and thai basil tofu. The garlic mushrooms were the absolute standout, definitely the best dish of the night. For drinks, we tried the pineapple cocktail, coconut cocktail, and guava juice, which were all delicious. We had a wonderful visit to Kerry Park and I was in the mood for some thai food. My friend recommended this place so I thought I'd give it a try. Definitely did not regret! The Northern sweet curry is very flavorful and flagrant. One bite of the curry soaked in with the rice and a piece of meat and it put an instant smile to my face. It says sweet in the title but it's not that sweet. There's also a chili pepper sign next to it, but it's not that spicy either. I would probably ask them to make it spicier next time! Pad see ew had really soft and tender noodles with excellent flavor and the tofu texture is perfectly cooked. This is the most delicious pad see ew I've had in recent memory. I was excited to try Isarn after finding out that it's owned by the same people as Kin Len. The menu is interesting, there are dishes I haven't heard of before so I feel like they offer authentic cuisine. We got the lamb massamun and the pork belly stew. I did think the pork belly stew wasn't anything special, especially since the hard boiled eggs were kind of dry and didn't add much to the dish. I liked the lamb massamun, especially because of the roti that it came with! I love Isarn! They have maybe locations throughout the greater Seattle area. This Queen Anne location in particular is in such a cute part of town. Decor inside the restaurant was also super vibey. Parking was not too hard to find. There's a lot of street parking or you can park in the neighborhoods close by. We came in at 5 o'clock on a Sunday with a party of four and got seated right away, but the restaurant quickly filled up afterward. They have an amazing happy hour menu! We got the Isarn mini wings, red curry and pad kee Mao with beef. All of the dishes were full of flavor and super tasty. I really like the rice in particular this day. Food came out super quick + service was very friendly and helpful. Only docking one star off because the meal overall was pretty heavy on salt. Northern Thai Leaf Cup Nibbles (Miang Kum) - 5/5 These were incredibly flavorful and refreshing, just like the ones you'd find in Thailand. My Thai parents couldn't get enough of these. Isarn Noodles with Coconut Milk - 5/5 An explosion of taste. We got it with tofu as it's traditionally served this way in Thailand. Fried Rice with Crab Meat - 4/5 The rice is a little too wet for our taste. There was only a small amount of crab, but it's understandable given that it's one of the least expensive crab fried rice I've seen in the States. Corn Salad with Young Coconut - 4/5 Tasty, though the spice level we chose (2 out of 3) wasn't spicy at all. A more granular spice scale would be helpful, perhaps with 5 levels instead of 3. Isarn Pork Sausage - 3/5 I usually enjoy Isarn Sausage, but this one was off, possibly a bit stale. The presentation was on point though. This one has a little more upscale/elevated feel inside in my opinion. The tables are larger booths and the decor is quite nice. We got the khao soi with chicken and the pork belly stew to share, and this was more than enough food for the two of us. Both we absolutely delicious! The khao soi was massive, and came with huge chunks of chicken. The egg noodles soaked up the scrumptious coconut curry broth perfectly, and the fried noodles on top added such a nice flavorful crunchy bite. The pork belly stew was surprisingly so good - I never really get this at thai restaurants, but the broth of this was AMAZING. It was sweet and savory and the pork soaked it up so well.
