8 Ping Yang is a newer Thai eatery located on Cap Hill. To get here, there is street parking all around the area. Inside, they have a modern interior with a good amount of seating. They have different menus for lunch and dinner, so plan accordingly based on what you want to try. Wifey and I stopped by for brunch with our friends and we were seated right away. We ended up getting the Khao Soi, Steak Fried Rice, and the Tom Kha Chowder. Everything that we had tasted delicious and all of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Came in for happy hour, so didn't get a chance to try their normal menu But thought everything was good! My favorite were the pork jowl and the fondue was fun While everything was good, nothing really wowed me They had a few specials that stood out to me, but was limited in what I could order since I was eating with someone who had a more restrictive diet. This spot just opened and decided to try it out. Cute little thai fusion spot. The food was good! A little pricey for the portion size. They did charge us an automatic 18% gratuity for 2 people without telling us. But I do like that this place is pretty different than the average thai place. One of my favorite thai places! This location was the former location of Marjorie. I particularly enjoy their grilled protein choices from the char grilled menu on the dinner menu which is pretty unique compared your standard Thai joints. I got the bone in rib eye and pork jowel which I highly recommend. They also offer other meats and seafood like kurabota pork , seabass and shrimp which i will definitely try next time. I checked out this restaurant with a few friends on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty easy to find parking, and the restaurant was fairly empty so no line. I ordered the lamb Khao Soi, and we were all very pleasantly surprised how nice the plating was. The Khao Soi was pretty tasty, and the lamb was fairly tender. We chose the pork jowl as our appetizer and it was our favorite bite of the evening when dipped in the sauce it comes with. For mains we had both the udon seafood soup and crispy pork pasta. The service was excellent and the people were all very sweet and helpful. I liked the intimate and kind of modern vibe of the restaurant. I need to go back to try more dishes. Congee and Khao Soi are both delicious. Intense flavors for brunch but who wants bland scramble eggs anyways. We sat inside and stared at the chef's special board for a long time because everything looked soo tempting. The chicken satay sandwich was good and a good idea, but I wouldn't say anything stood out or would draw me back. This place was awesome... luckily / happily found it while visiting g Seattle. Started with the fondue of meats & chicken wings, I had the Braised Beef Khao Soi. Others in my party had Kurobuta Pork Belly Pasta, Beef fried rice, charcoal grilled Sea Bass. Each of these were a 10+ out of 10. The braised beef was cooked perfectly. The chef/owner came out to greet us...had a great conversation with him and the waiter. The fusion was great...Chef was culinary trained in Italian and French cuisine. For dessert we had a Pana Cotta with Lychee in it and a Green Tea Tiramisu. A great way to end our meal. I can't wait to come back to Seattle for this place!! read more

Service was excellent and we ended up chatting with our server who is actually co-owner. We had a variety of grilled and fried proteins from the happy hour menu; Grilled Pork Jowl and Calamari Fritti were standouts, and we also enjoyed the Halibut bites and Chicken wings! If you like school lunch cafeteria tasting food, this is the place to go. Points for our very nice waitress who was super sweet and the ambiance is cute. We ordered the satay, which was dried pieces of meat dipped in satay sauce. The crab fried rice was decent, but the Wagyu pasta was absolutely reminiscent of school cafeteria food. read more

We dined as a party of 4 and had papaya salad, a tofu soup, beef tenderloin, pork belly and their famous wagyu pasta. All the beef was so over cooked and chewy. The wagyu was also super charred. The middle pieces had some pink left but the outside pieces were burnt black. I don't understand the good reviews and how they could have let two burnt dishes come out of the kitchen? We got a few items: 1/ chicken satay This may have been one of the best - if not the best - chicken satay I've ever had. Very nice sauce on top of the chicken, and peanut dipping sauce complimented the dish nicely. 9.3/10 2/ Fried Tofu The tofu was fine but the plumb sauce was really great! 8.9/10 3/ Khao Soi chicken katsu Presentation is nice but I felt like it was missing some flavor. The chicken katsu itself was great but the broth wasn't quite there. 7.3/10 4/ garlic chicken Flavorful and good portion size. 8.7/10 5/ Thai iced tea This one felt like a bit of a miss.
