I returned home exhausted after flying 10 hours and found that someone had stuck toothpicks and paper into my lock. I couldn't get my key in or get the debris out. I called the nearest locksmith, which happened to be ISD. Isaac was at my place within 10 minutes of calling and was able to fix the problem in no time. He actually saved my lock and got the debris out, which I wasn't expecting at all. I figured any locksmith would charge me to re-key it, but he didn't. He did the minimum necessary to solve the problem and did not try to charge more money for something I didn't need. He even lubricated the lock and had me test it myself before leaving. He also showed me some better laser locks, but did not pressure me to buy. I was back in my house with my same working lock in record time, and thought that ISD was very professional, courteous and prompt. We had a very serious problem that needed attention ASAP. A key chain with everything on it was lost and no amount of searching found it. It was late in the day when I started calling locksmiths. Knowing this was going to be an expensive project, I wanted to check with more than one. I talked to ISD Locksmith and Isaac quoted me a fair price and sounded very professional. I called him the next morning and he came out promptly. We needed to have eight locks rekeyed, which he did very skillfully. He examined each lock's mechanism, lubricated it and refurbished as necessary. One lock is from 1970 and required most of his time. My husband was very impressed with his attention to all details. His housecall was $35 and for seven locks he charged $15 each. The grandpa of locks took extra time and he charged only $19. We were extremely pleased with his care and neatness. I got locked out of my house this Morning before work, I made the mistake of calling a Locksmith (not ISD) to come fix it claiming it would cost me $40, well they were a HOUR late & they told me it would cost me 150$ to get my door unlocked!!! The service was fast and prompt since I was locked out of my vehicle in PB, but literally other than the fact that he got the job done I probably wouldn't use them again. The locksmith said, and I quote "Good thing you called us because you would normally be paying $120 which for keys locked inside a vehicle I have never seen a price that high before, he charged $55 for me, which still seemed a bit high since I've locked myself out of this truck before and the most I've paid is anywhere between $35-50 usually with companies like Pop-A-Lock and such. On the card he gave me it said that it was 50% off on PB locksmiths so I'd be afraid of what they would have charged if I was in Point Loma or La Jolla.
