I stopped by the food truck today for a quick lunch while running errands and I'm happy I did! My smoothie bowl came out very fast & was the perfect light lunch to keep my day flowing! The girl at the window was sweet and so fast I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for my bowl. Absolutely will be back.

Run, don't walk, to island açaí!!! This is a little food truck that travels around and has divine bowls. The açaí is smooth and not icy. They have a ton of fresh toppings to choose from with sauces (honey, caramel, chocolate etc). I added granola for extra crunch and it was absolutely magical. There's 3 sizes to fit your appetite or budget. I got the bowl, biggest size. I went to Galveston Island Brewery on a Tuesday and they currently have $2 off the bowl if you get a tiki wheat beer. The truck travels, so def follow them on Facebook to ensure you know where they are! The service is great! The guys that work the truck are friendly and helpful. They offer suggestions, are patient while you review the menu, and have speedy service.

This little food truck has the best açai bowls that we've been able to locate on the island maybe even all the way into downtown Houston.

So happy to have found this place after a late night at Kemah we were hungry and not much was open…read moreso late. This place is in the area where the locals live. Almost across from the cemetery, kinda cool. It is a very small outdoor space with a food truck and some picnic tables. The entire space is covered in potted trees and plants of all kinds. Hence the jungle name. There were locals and regulars seated in one table and gave a sense of comfort, kind of like in the movies when the lost tourist goes to a little food shack and has the best times with the locals. Any who there is what appears to be a nightclub next door inside a building that looks like a house with plenty bouncers. They sell canned sodas and their menu is pretty standard. I always go for regular tacos so I can really get a sense of what the rest of the menu tastes like. These were real tasting street tacos. Tiny double stacked corn tortillas to hold the meat that is generously placed in the taco. I ordered barbacoa. I gotta say although the portion of the meats are generous I feel like they don't mix the meat with cachete which is crucial to get a soft meat that melts in your mouth. This meat looked soft but took me quite an uncomfortable amount of time to chew. Kind of like one of my kids who spits out his meat if it is not chewable. The taste was authentic and the salsas a bit on the watery side but its actually spicy as it should be. I did talk to the owner about his setup with all the greenery and he was super nice and was very welcoming. If you do end up here just remember this is a tropical area with mosquitos that thrive here so come prepared. They did have a mosquito repellent available to use which came inn very handy because the mosquitos were definitely feasting. Maybe a fan directed at the tables would help keep the mosquitos away.

We were seated right away, but I saw another group of 3 wait so long to be seated that they left. The ambiance is fantastic and the servers were friendly, although not attentive. The food was so good and the margaritas went down smoothly! But we sat with empty drinks a lot and slow service. Thankfully, we (my boyfriend and I ) enjoy each other's company immensely. If we didn't, it would have been a frustrating experience. Will I go back? Of course. Will I recommend it to others? Yes, but don't be in a hurry. You're on island time.

It's easy to overlook this place but we are so glad we ventured in. It's kind of a 3 in 1 place…read more There is a nice restaurant in the middle, one side is a "Refresqueria" which has ice cream, Mexican snacks, corn in the cup, street tacos and aguas frescas. The other side is a bar. The restaurant has nice atmosphere with cool Mexican theme decor. They actually use the empty Tequila Azul bottles and use as table lamps. Servers are friendly but a bit slow in service. Good prices are very reasonable and the food is good. Fish was a bit overdone and needed a little seasoning. Also you have to watch the fish bones when eating. They have a great variety of drinks served in cool Mexican pottery cups. Definitely will return and recommend you check them out.
