They made me feel so comfortable when I got my very first hearing aid over 5 years ago, and they're so friendly and helpful. Tara is so sweet and thorough, and made sure I understood all of my options to help me find the right ones every time. And now that I have 2 hearing aids, she shows remarkable patience while I struggle to find a comfortable balance between the two. And the staff? I can't begin to explain how lucky I feel every time I walk into the office and am greeted with huge smiles and kindness. I don't even need to give them my name because they already know me - they even ask about little personal things they remember about me, even in those times they don't see me for around a year. I have a lot of doctors, constantly in and out of doctor's offices, and although I see some of them fairly often, none of them take the time to show me the kindness and warmth that these ladies do. Having been reluctant to deal with my hearing loss for years, I decided several years ago to finally address it. I went to several Audiologists and was less than happy with recommendations, costs their willingness to deal with insurance follow ups. I'm so happy I found IBH and Dr. Tara Mazzone. Her evaluation was thorough and she recommended several reasonable options, explaining the strengths and weaknesses of each. I am now on my 3rd pair of aids ( I like to stay current with technology) and my work and social life has improved dramatically. And no one realizes I wear hearing aids. Outstanding. I've been battling using hearing aids for the last 10 years until I moved back to Huntington New York and was told about Island Better Hearing. I wear a cross system because I lost hearing in one ear completely over night while I was sleeping. Chasing batteries is such a hassle and I could never keep enough on hand. Island Better put me in a set of recharging hearing aidS and took the time to educate me on my latest pair which was time well spent. I've only had one issue but it was my fault and I damaged the one side which when I stop at the store to see if it could be repaired, the response was simple, give us 10 minutes and I was back up and running.. Excellent care. Island Better Hearing examined and treated my 92-year old mom for hearing loss. It seemed my mother couldn't hear even with hearing aids, but the thorough exam provided by Dr. Trentacoste showed she could be treated with the right hearing aid adjusted to compensate for the specific hearing issues my mom was experiencing, and she explained how my mother's diabetes was affecting my mom in relation to hearing and comprehension. I was referred to Dr. Lori Pentacoste at Island better Hearing last summer. Dr. Pentacoste is extremely thorough in the work she does. She also took the time to answer every one of my questions (and I had a lot). I am from California, and after going back home, I had to find a local audiologist. Dr. Tara Mazzone is my audiologist. I've have purchased hearing aids twice from Island Better Hearing. My first set of hearing aids were good and I was on board to buy the same brand again. Tara was not satisfied with how they were performing for me. We tested three brands before she found ones that she was satisfied with. The new brand has been wonderful.
