My dad was hungry and wanted to do a Resy restaurant. Even though I thought it would be better to wait for magical dining on Friday, I suggested this one. We booked for an early dinner at 6pm. The parking gate was open, so we went through without even getting a ticket. When we arrived to the restaurant, my expectations lowered as this was most likely the hotel house restaurant, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner were served. My dad and I decided to have a Marlot wine to start, which was surprising not to dry and quite enjoyable. For entree, my dad went with the salmon while I decided on the half chicken. Both were nicely portioned, which surprised both of us. Even more surprising was how good it was. The chicken was served with bones, and roasted nicely. It was tender and whatever seasoning they added was good. While the vegetables were a bit mushy, I still enjoyed it because the seasoning made it more enjoyable. The jasmine rice was very good as it might had a bit of coconut flavor. While my dad finished his food, and loved it, I took my other piece of chicken home to enjoy for the next day. I didn't want to leave without dessert, so I ordered the suggested ube flan. I was so happy I did. It was moist with a great ube flavor. The coconut added really enhanced the yammynous (pun intended). The fruit was so fresh, and the popping bobas were a nice touch. We also ordered vegetarian spring rolls for my mom to enjoy, and she loved it when we brought it home! I tried it as well and it was scrumptious. Our server was nice and professional. Our food came pretty quickly and we were in and out after 1.5 hours. The atmosphere was very casual and quiet as well. Hula music was mostly playing in the background, as my taste buds were doing it. We came during the early hours, so it can get more crowded later in the evening or during breakfast. Since the parking gate was open, we just went through it to exit as well. We didn't need to pay anything, and I wasn't sure why. Island dining room is an excellent example why I should never judge a restaurant by it's appearance. Even though it looked like a plain ole hotel restaurant, the food was very enjoyable. Even though it was expensive, we took advantage of the Resy credits. It is located at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios, where you can even enjoy walking around the public areas after eating. Very low key upscale vibes as you walk in, comfy yet classy. Our food was great and delicious, we ordered Mongolian beef, pork belly ramen, and another noodle dish that I forgot what it was but it was steak and noodles. A nice restaurant inside of the Royal Pacific Resort. During breakfast hours you have the option of ordering off the menu or eating from the buffet. I decided to order off the menu. I ordered two eggs over easy with bacon and home fries. It also comes with toast. Everything was cooked nicely. We also ordered a fruit medley and it all tasted very fresh with a big variety of different berries and melons. This is another restaurant located in the Royal Pacific Resort. The decor is Pacific Island. I ate breakfast here three times: twice by myself and once with the full family. Bacon, eggs, potatoes, toast, and coffee were $30.00. I ordered this twice. The last time, I had the full family: four adults and two kids, nine and five years old. The bill came in at $200. Once they revived me and placed me back in my chair, I paid the bill. The kitchen was closed when we arrived, and the buffet was our only choice. Hence the price. To feel like I was getting value, I ate two pieces of smoked salmon. :). It's a captive place. The service was excellent, and the food was average. Really disappointing here. Firstly, we came pretty late, like around 8:30 ish, but we still had to wait 15 minutes because we didn't make a reservation. When we got inside, there was practically NO ONE in the restaurant, only a few stragglers, but a ton of empty tables. Our server was nice, but forgot my drink and didn't take one of my family member's orders and we had to tell her to come back. We ordered lettuce wraps for starters, and they were pretty lackluster. It came with small tiny pieces of beef and sad leaves of lettuce. They weren't even the right kind of lettuce either. For entrees, I ordered the hibachi salmon, and my god, was it SALTY. It was so salty that I couldn't even take a bite without eating white rice in between. The fish was pretty soft though, but it was way too salty to enjoy. The rice and veggies were covered with a lot of oil too. We also got the korean ribeye which was alright, the chicken fried rice which lacked a LOT of flavor, and a miso soup which was terrible. I'm not sure I've ever been as disappointed in a restaurant, ever. First, the positive: Coconut Soup. It was really awesome! Great portion, piping hot with an awesome flavor. Something I would get again - but not here. Moving on, the whole night was a terrible experience. Terrible server who didn't know the menu which almost caused a huge allergy concern. A manager who came by to try to sort out the confusion, but didn't offer any real solution or help. Instead, everyone got basic food with no thought and the server and manager never returned to see how things were going. Lastly, two people got extremely sick after the experience. My guess is allergy related (even though the allergens were clearly identified) which makes this a hard place to review happily. We almost let the bad reviews turn us away, but I'm glad we gave this place a shot. We had the spring rolls and Mongolian beef and both were delicious. The service was great, and they had live musicians and gave out leis to all the guests, it was fun and super convenient as a guest of the hotel to be able to just walk over to this restaurant. We stayed in the hotel attached to this restaurant and so happy we did! We had spent a fun afternoon exploring the hotel and found this restaurant near the pool! After an evening at the park we were famished and dehydrated! Not to worry the portions were huge! My daughter and I got the Mongolian beef, which we shared and it was plenty! My husband got the salmon and devoured it before I got even one bite! If you order fried rice they do charge $6 which i feel was high due to the small amount you get but it was very good! I hate paper straws and that is all they offered! Luckily for me I brought my own but ky family had to suffer through. I do not trust buffets even during non-COVID times, so I was happy that we were able to order ala carte. I ordered the Hawaiian pancakes with toasted coconut, golden pineapple, and macadamia nuts and he ordered an omelet with chorizo, mushrooms, and cheddar. We already had coffees from the market upstairs, but our server also brought out water, which was much appreciated. The pancakes weren't very warm and were dry, but the Hawaiian-style topping was delicious. My husband was very happy with his omelet and found it very filling. The restaurant was nicely decorated with the Pacific Islands theme, but it did feel a bit outdated. There are better options for breakfast in and around the hotel. We came here after finding it on a Yelp search for brunch on a weekday. The universal boats at city walk will take you direct to the Leows Royal Pacific Resort where the restaurant is located. The brunch has a several American favorites like steak and eggs or waffles. There are a few Hawaiian treats you can try like Coconut pineapple pancakes, or a tropical fruit plate. However, it's mostly your standard American breakfast. We didn't see any spam and eggs, loco mocos or Portuguese sausage on the menu. The food we did have was good. They have several fresh juices for your breakfast or your mimosas such as orange, guava, mango, papaya, P.O.G and many more. The mimosas are endless for $15. We had a variety of breakfast dishes such as the Big Kahuna, the ham, egg and potato breakfast and many more. The pineapple and coconut pancakes were soft and yummy. We liked our food and the sides of bacon were fantastic. We loved this place since it's a brunch within minutes of the front gate and no crowds. It's a great break for the day. Jairus helped us with brunch and he was an amazing waiter. He was very personable, friendly and funny. We loved his enthusiastic interpersonal skills. I really enjoyed this restaurant. I am not sure why this place has such bad reviews. I walked in without a reservation and I was seated immediately. Saturday night btw. They immediately told us that they were offering an all you can eat stir fry and that they had the magical dining menu. Most restaurants don't offer up that info. There are families and kids around and the pool is right behind.. you can't really see it that much and I didn't hear any noise from the pool. We did the magical dining and it was such a good deal. We got the korean hot wings and the calamari as appetizers. The korean hot wings had a nice flavor but were too hot for my taste if you like spicy you will love them. I still thought they were good. The calamari was one of the best I've had..it was a huge portion and perfectly crispy but not heavy breading. We both got the ribeye and it was delicious. Great seasoning and perfectly cooked. I recommend medium as my hubby got it medium well and we both agreed mine was better. The fried rice that it comes with was so tasty..not your average fried rice. (Tasted great re-heated too) we both got the Ying yang oreo mousse cake for dessert and it was ok. Not amazing. But not bad. I wouldn't come here for the dessert. My family & I went to the Island dining room twice on our trip to Orlando. Both times for breakfast and both times given the best service by Z. The menu isn't very extensive, having most staples such as custom omelets, avocado toast (pictured), pancakes, waffles, French toast, to name a few. Overall it's a great place to grab quick breakfast before starting the day. The food isn't anything too crazy- but satisfying. The avocado toast was tasty and the side potatoes didn't last longer than 5 minutes; they were very well seasoned and cooked! Our server Z suggested great items such as the French toast which was so delicious! And the banana nut muffins that literally melted in my mouth. I gave this place 5 stars mostly for the great service given by Z (he is definitely 5 star worthy). He tended to our every need and checked on the table frequently. The second leg of our magical dining was decent choice, the appetizers were spring rolls, coconut soup and a peanut sauced salad. All were good but the star was the coconut soup, sweet,creamy with a touch of nutmeg. The entrees were Korean ribeye , shrimp pad Thai and honey glazed salmon all were very decent choices I enjoyed the ribeye the most but each of us had our favorite. The deserts were the disappointment the Oreo mouse was just meh and the ginger brûlée was not a taste I could recommend. We also went off the dining menu for the jumbo pineapple donut but it ended up as a disappointing choice. It had a bread-like consistency not donut-like at all. One burnt entree, possibly the worlds worst Mai Tai, in a sort glass, tasted awful...no Dark rum, and charged $16. Worst part, I couldn't drink more than a sip, and the waiter did nothing about it. My family and I made a reservation here on a whim, but after reading some reviews on Yelp we considered canceling. However we were so glad that we didn't cancel! First- the Royal Pacific is a beautiful resort and we enjoyed walking around before dinner. The hotel is only a short walk away from City Walk and definitely worth getting away from the crowds. We ordered appetizers first. My dad said the Krab Rangoon was the best he's ever had. My mom and I shared the Thai Coconut soup and this was the best part of the meal! The soup is dairy free but so creamy, sweet, and delicious. The lemongrass is strong enough to give the soup a unique flavor without overpowering the subtle coconut milk. You are also given bread before your meal which was great. Tasted like a King's Hawaiian roll, but even better. For our meals we ordered Mongolian Beef, General Tso's Chicken, and Tofu Broccoli Lo-Mein. Every meal was delicious! The presentation is beautiful and the portions are huge. We all took home leftovers for dinner the following day. While you may think these dishes are going to be basic they are a notch above typical Asian food. We ordered the Jumbo Pineapple Doughnut for dessert and man this thing really is jumbo. There were clean glasses filled with silverware along with plates and water pitchers randomly stacked on multiple surfaces around our table. This made things look messy and seem disorganized. As soon as we were seated I realized that our placemats were stained and sticky. They don't appear to replace placemats between diners. I also noticed that clean place settings were placed on the dirty tables around us before they were bused. This means clean and dirty dishes all being handled by the same hands at the same time. The process appeared unsanitary. For appetizers we ordered calamari and wings. Portion sizes are big but the wings were lukewarm and the calamari was very greasy. Our steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare but was so chewy and bland that we barely touched them. The vegetables had a unmistakable layer of grease making them unappealing. Also came with a salad bar, with some Asian inspired choices, and egg drop soup. The food was good enough and the experience combined with it being all you could eat probably made it worth the price. But... the service wasn't great. Twice they brought someone else's food to our table... both times we were clearly eating already. Never did our server come to check on our drinks. And I swear he quit his job during the time we were there it seems because we never saw him again. Eventually had to ask someone else for the check in order to leave. The coconut soup was fabulous. My husband had the Mongolian Beef, which was good. The meat was very tender. He selected mild spice & it had plenty of flavor. The service was fabulous. We would have loved to have eaten here multiple times. My only disappointment is that despite the resort being full & every offsite restaurant having regular menus "due to Covid", this establishment has a very limited menu. This is the only resort that I've visited in the last 6-7 months who still has a limited menu in place. The offerings were too limited for us to eat here more than once during our stay. We stayed over at the Lowes Royal Pacific over the Mother's Day weekend and this was the place my husband booked for late Mother's Day brunch. First, I really liked the vintage, old island, Hawaiian ambiance of the hotel, and the Island Dining Room really was representative of that. We were seated promptly and there were a variety of buffet options available. There was an omelette station (which I didn't partake in), sushi station, Asian stir-fry station, seafood buffet, Kids/dessert buffet and meat carving station serving prime rib and pork. I just have to caveat that I'm a huge seafood lover, so anywhere that offers me unlimited access to already half cracked, split snow crabs, shrimps, and smoked salmon has me won over. The prime rib was so succulent and juicy. My daughter1 and I were huge fans of them and kept going back for more. The roasted pork was slight dry, and the least impressive station out of them all, were sushi station. It only offered two rolls-- California roll and Eel roll, and both were too bland for me to go back. I enjoyed the curry coconut stir-fry I got. AND the best part of it was the service, our server Jairus, really took a good care of us. He kept the mimosas coming and I enjoyed every single sip. The dessert station had a lot of variety to offer, and it was very nice that they had complimentary balloon and face paint artists there to entertain the kids so Moms could really enjoy their food (...and mimosas). They were barely mixed and had terrible presentation. Seemed as if one of your friends in college mixed the drink for you. The food was ok. My fiancé had the general tsao chicken, and it was a huge serving. I had the shrimp pad thai. It was under spiced and super runny. However it did have a nice presentation to it. We are new Universal Annual Pass members and Universal had a "kids eat free" deal at most of the resort hotels. We had been meaning to check out Royal Pacific since we got here and used this as an opportunity to do so. The ambiance is great. A little more south pacific than Hawaii. But lots of clean lines and open spaces. With nice views of the vegetation and the pool. The menu was not expansive, but everything we had was fantastic. The coconut soup was amazing and my wife said it might be her new favorite soup! The Thai salad was also great, with fresh veggies and a delicious dressing. For our entree, we ordered the mongolian beef. It didn't look particularly appetizing, but it tasted amazing! When I first saw it I thought "I paid $22 for something I could have had at Panda Express for $8". But it tasted amazing! I would definitely go back again. Their kids menu was well thought out and expansive. We dined at the height of the Coronavirus epidemic in Florida and really appreciate the lengths Universal has gone to in order to keep everyone safe. Typically, we go to Islands for breakfast, and their breakfast buffet is perfect. Plenty of options at a reasonable price, and the outstanding service we receive usually makes it a great experience. Last Friday we decided to go for dinner to try their Wok experience, and it was fantastic. The Wok experience will satisfy your cravings, there is a great deal of choices and it is prepared to order right in front of you. Located inside Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Islands is a great alternative to Emeril's Tchoup Chop across the lobby that is also on a similar food/price level too. My friend and I decided on this spot for a girls night out on a Monday evening. Monday night is the time to go - no wait, barely any kids around either. Our waiter was attentive and came back with our drink and food orders in a timely matter. To drink, I ordered a mimosa after the waiter mentioned there was a full bar. I wish they put a little more champagne in it but I did like the strawberry garnish. My friend ordered the Pad Thai and I went with the Filipino Adobo Shrimp Bowl. My dish was very peppery and far from the best adobo I've ever had, but it did hit the spot. My friend enjoyed the Pad Thai and said it was very filling. To our surprise, Bart & Homer Simpson decided to pop on in for an appearance! Sometimes it's fun to embrace your inner child with some character dining. Knowing that resort dining is going to be pricier than restaurants off the premises beforehand won't bring any surprises when the check comes (some of these reviewers need to realize that). Arrived here for vacation, and decided to have breakfast on-site. The people here are friendly and attentive. Decided to order off the menu instead of the buffet, food was mediocre. We had the following: - Black Angus Steak & Eggs - 6 oz sirloin steak, two strips of apple-wood smoked bacon, 3 cage free eggs any style - my steak was VERY dry and overcooked (I asked for medium rare). Honestly, I would have to say it was almost close enough to be called a beef jerky.. The eggs were well cooked and the bacon was awesome. Our table was totally ignored and we almost had to flag our server down to clear plates or refill drinks. I know this in not the rule as I have attended the Luau here as well.
