I've been coming to this location for years. I have a degenerative back issue which means I randomly have issues with my back where a chiropractor is needed. I have used several chiropractors here, all skilled and knowledgeable. Most recently today I was adjusted by Dr. Hawkins, I had a tight/stuck middle of back that I was unable to stretch or roll out, she expertly diagnosed and fixed. Super disappointed in our multiple visits to Dr. Norm. My partner and I saw him for a total of five visits. Each visit was maybe like five minutes each including the initial visit and when I told the Dr. about how my shoulder hurt, both times I mentioned it to him he shrugged it off. We have been seeing chiropractors for over five years now and recently being back on island we needed to find a new practitioner. Never been so clearly purposely ignored and pooh-poohed before. BUT perhaps today it was because he had to see the four other patients he had scheduled? I stayed an extra 15 minutes to deal with the billing about $150 for initial visit and $75 for the following visits (yes, even with insurance.) In that time he saw four other patients. Ridiculous to see patients so quickly. This is why chiropractors get called quacks, not okay. I gave them one extra star as they were nice enough to re-schedule our appointment due to the flash floods, but overall my review remains the same, find someone who will listen and spend time with you, after all that is what you are paying for! read more

This Island Family Chiropractic office is located on the 2nd floor above Yummys in Koko Marina. Lots of parking, so don't make the same mistake as me and park by the bank because the security will kick you out. It was my first time coming to Dr. Carie for an alignment, I had a lot of lower back pain and headaches. It's been a couple days since and I've noticed my back pains have gone away, and headaches decreased as well. I work 6 days a week and work out about 6 days as well. I'm constantly sitting at my desk in a wrong position which causes majority of my headaches. Dr. Micaire has helped me tremendously with my overall health and wellbeing. I go for an adjustment monthly and can definitely tell if I have to miss my appointment. I've been going to IFC for a little over a year. I've tried different Chiropractors and depending on where I live, I've used some really good ones over the years, so I'm glad to have found Dr. Norm. There's something about a good adjustment that just puts a smile on my face! I'm not sure which I enjoy more, the sound of an adjustment or the feeling afterwards, but I would recommend IFC. Went there for my first time today and mrs Hawkins was very informative about her practice. Unlike the chiropractor I went to before her she actually went through the process of checking and looking what work needed to be done on me. Not only she takes what pain I told her into perspective she went and run a bunch of tests to see what else seems to be the problem. As a family, we have been going to Island Family Chiropractic for a few years now. We started with Dr. Cassie who is warm and intuitive. But, due to her new baby, she cut back on her hours. We now see Dr. Pete who is amazing. He listens and addresses your concerns and then finds others that you forgot to tell him about. Went in with a sciatica pain in my lower back. I had insurance and they said that my visit would be covered 100% except the $25 copay. The 'chiropractor' pulled out a Theragun and massaged my lower and upper back for 45 seconds. She insisted I needed about 6 more "sessions" of that until I would see results. That was the entirety of my visit. I then got a bill for $110 and harassment phone calls and letters for 6 months threatening to send my account to collections if I didn't pay immediately. I went to another chiropractor who relieved my pain with a set of real adjustments in a single visit. I could've bought my own Theragun for what I paid her to use hers. read more

Dr Cassy is amazing! It's very easy to make an appt. She even takes insurance and just collects a co-pay. I have seen her several times for prenatal adjustments and Webster's method and she works on my 2 year old and now our newborn. I am a huge believer in the benefits of good chiropractic work. Our new baby at about a week old developed tightness in his jaw and his latch was terrible not opening up his mouth wide enough. I had damage that was incredibly painful to nurse on my left side. One visit to Dr Cassie and he's a different baby. I feel bad for new moms struggling to nurse through pain and they give up before anyone tells them how to avoid pain all together. My go-to place when I am in town. Dr. Cassie is personable and bubbly, and she knows her stuff. She gets right to the heart of the problem, and for me, it was a subluxation on my lower back. Met Dr. Jeff today for my first adjustment with Island Family Chiropractic. First impression: friendly, easy going, professional; and that was only upon entering and filling out paperwork. Dr. Jeff had me do some exercises to see where I was tight. He could tell just by the way I moved my head from side to side. He massaged well in between my shoulders and then adjusted where I've never been before. He also had me turn on my left and right and on my back for more adjustments. I felt free, light, and relaxed as I walked out. Dr. Jeff is so thorough that he even emailed me within the hour, stretches for my plantar foot pain. I had been going to a chiropractor for years and years before moving to Hawaii. I had gone to a few after moving here...but was disappointed in the overall experience. But after a shoulder injury early on during the pandemic that I couldn't treat, I ended up with frozen shoulder. Orthopedic surgeon suggested trying PT before surgery. I asked about chiropractic care and he was ok with it. I found IFC online and they were able to get me in a few days later. I was set up with Dr Polski. He looked at my ortho report and immediately went to work. after only 4 treatments, I was absolutely amazed at the movement that I already have. Dr. Cassy is undoubtedly the best Chiropractor I have ever been to. During my first appointment, she spent quite a bit of time with me getting to know me, my lifestyle, and my back issues. She then examined me, while at the same time explaining everything that she was doing and why she was doing it. She found all of the areas that were giving me problems and then spent a lot of time treating me. She used several techniques to treat me. I am usually nervous about neck adjustments, but by the second or third treatment I learned to relax and completely trust her. I called Island Family Chiropractic last week to see if I could get an appointment while visiting Oahu and they were able to get me in the next day. I completed a medical form, was given a video watch on an iPad and then I was introduced to Dr. Norm I've never been to a Chiropractor before and Was actually terrified; but from the moment I entered their office to the time I walked out, I was at ease. I've had years of lower back pain and hip pain (in the past 2-3 years) from years of dance, gymnastics and cheerleading in my youth. I could barely sit up and get out of bed without walking myself up my legs. This place should be ashamed of themselves. $65 per visit. That's actual theft. While it's true some things cost more in hawaii, the cost of living is actually comparable to California where chiropractic Visits cost $25-$45. I've been a patient in chiropractic care for 30 years in 4 states. This one was way out of line and it was insulting to be told that I can submit my bills, by my self, to my insurance company and hope for a $20 per visit refund. This is chiropractic care. Not plastic surgery. Absurd and shameful. This doctor should be embarrassed. Having done lots of research now and found several offices I like, I promise there are other chiropractors all over this island who not only will bill insurance for you l, they don't look to club you for exorbitant fees for the same services. All doctors go to school. All doctors pay for offices, staff, and equipment. This one is way out of touch with practical fees and apparently thinks it's funny when potential clients are not on board with being fleeced. read more
