I am a visitor and needed a refill of a supplement that I used more of than expected since being here. I called the Ohana Office and received a reply from Amy quickly by text, email and phone! Wow! They had what I needed on hand and we set up to have it delivered by mail to our resort near Waikiki Beach. The next day I received a message from Amy that she had dropped it off at our resort because she happened to be in the neighborhood on her way somewhere! That is going above and beyond. It's about a year and having some issues with back and hip. I asked about weakness in my legs and extreme fatigue. We ruled out COVID19 with test at 3 days and 5 days after exposure. Since I'm seeing a cardiologist tomorrow, Dr. Robert Anderson need to clear whether it's heart problem before any spinal or muscular skeletal problems. He did blading and massage before adjusting me. My hubby and I both see Dr. Robert every two weeks to get graston treatments and realignment. We both are very active and love to workout, so back health is truly essential to our happiness and livelihoods. If you haven't had a graston treatment it's a dull metal blade which he uses to breakdown all the built up scar tissue on your muscles. It's pure heaven, especially when your shoulders or back have a ton of tension built up in them. I suffer from lower back issues after having three children and seeing Dr. Robert regularly has really helped me to understand how to better take care of my body. What I love about seeing him is that he gives me alternative ways in which to improve my back health and has helped me to change the ways in which I sit or stand while working. In addition to our treatments, you have to buy the Cryoderm roll on stick that they sell at the front desk for $15. Think about it as Icy Hot, but 10X more effective. If I have any back pain in between treatments because I've pushed myself too hard in yoga or if I've been sitting too much during the day, I just roll on the Cryoderm and feel instantly better. I might have an addiction to it because I love it so much! Hope you'll make time for yourself this week and visit Dr. Robert, because if you're not at your best physically, it's tough to be emotionally and mentally at your best. snap...Crackle...POP! Those were the words I thought of when I considered going to the chiropractor, but boy was I wrong! I recently needed to go to the chiropractor after the birth of my daughter. I was dying...I was so sore, and my neck, back, shoulders, and arms were sore from carrying her, laying with her, and nursing. Wow, it's seriously terrible. I was so freaked out, though, because I went to the chiro when I was a kid, but it hurt me. So I finally worked up the nerve to call Ohana Chiro when I couldn't wait any longer. Dr. Anderson worked to fit me in as soon as possible, and from day 1, I started feeling better and better. It took weeks for the soreness to completely go away, but it was worth the wait! Dr. Anderson has also really helped me when I pulled my shoulder out, and another time when I threw out my back. He uses a gentle method, and I feel completely safe. I also started taking my baby girl, and he is AMAZING with kids; even babies. He has special certifications and education to work with children, so I felt especially safe and secure with his knowledge and skill. The office is SOOO NIIIICE! The receptionist is actually his wife, and they are a great team! They are so amazing to me, even when I show up alone with a fussy baby. There is another chiro at this office, too, and he seems nice, and who people really like, but he has a stronger approach to chiro care, so I'm going to stick with Dr. Anderson. They take my Kaiser insurance, and there's a small co pay for us. If you're sore or hurt, get yourself in there! You're going to kick yourself you didn't go sooner!! Very friendly staff and super quick to go in, make appointments and get evaluated. Centrally located. The reason for the 3 starts is I went in for the tightness of my upper back. I'm not sure if I was expecting since it's a Chiropractic Center that I would get that Chiropractic experience like when I've gone to other centers here on the island and mainland. But..I well, never got "adjusted". Being military it is out of pocket- which is no problem but unfortunately will not be going back after second visit because I was rubbed down for 4-7 mins and used a tool for a min or two and..that was it. No cracking, no adjustments to other parts of body; even though I was told I was misaligned. That's a lot of $$ for a 5 min rub down that I could do at home and a tool that doesn't work. read more

This was my first visit to a chiropractor, and I was not disappointing. Dr. Anderson was a really friendly guy, and I like his preventative / root cause approach to things. He explained which muscles he believed were causing the issues I was having, so I now have something to work on before my next visit (in a month) to see if it helps at all. I'm all about getting to the source or root of the problem. My neck felt the impact after my vehicle was rear ended so I put my trust in Yelp to search for five star chiropractic care. I found this office to be conveniently located near freeway entrances, offer validated and free parking, convenient hours, and military discount. On my first visit, Dr. Anderson informed me I experienced a whip lash as a result from the accident. He asked questions, explained step by step his action plan, worked on areas of my spine that required adjustments, informed me about exercises and stretches that I am able to practice at home and work. I continued to seek treatment for two months until pain subsided and completely went away. Dr. Anderson is an amazing chiropractor with many years of experience, very professional, family oriented, and has a great sense of humor with adults, teens and children. I'm glad I found this Chiropractic Center! I had been feeling some lower back pain so needed a professional to help me diagnose and treat the problem. They are included in the Kaiser approved list so I was able to use my health insurance to cover the payment and I only had a nominal co-pay ($20) under my plan. The customer service aspect was great. There was always someone available to promptly pick up the phone. I could call and schedule my appointments easily. The building was easy to find (whale mural) and the parking was a breeze! My first appointment was around 45 minutes. Doc had me do certain exercises and movement in order to see which muscles were weak/irritated. I thought this was very helpful as I could see which side of my body had issues and I could measure improvement in more concrete ways. The adjustments consisted of using a metal tool to massage the muscles and a smaller pressure tool to help target certain areas on my back. I came back in about 1-2 weeks and my appointments was shorter (around 15 min), we went over similar exercises and Doc did similar adjustments. After 2-3 weeks, I felt completely better and was so glad I took time out of my day to meet with them! read more

I'll be honest and say that I was skeptical of chiropractic medicine until I had no choice but to try it. Dr. Anderson saved me during my pregnancy. I had the worst hip/joint/lower back pain ever. It was difficult for me to walk after siting still for some time. I looked like the tin man in serious need of some oil. After a few sessions with Dr. Anderson, I was feeling a lot better. He takes his time with his patients and I felt like he really listened to my concerns. He took the time to demonstrate different yoga poses that would also help me. His wife Amy was also really nice. Went to Dr. Robert for the first time today. It wasn't my first time going to chiropractor, but it has been awhile since I have gone. I walked into the office and the receptionist, his wife, was especially warm and greeting to me. I filled out the paperwork and even got into the office early. Dr. Robert was very nice and personable and knowledgeable. He addressed my concerns and asked me details about my injuries, my past, and what specifically I want help with moving forward. He is also able to talk story WHILE applying procedures and techniques. A lot of people will talk and then do work, wasting time, but he did both flawlessly! My body is riddled with injuries from 10 years of rugby and getting more into heavy lifting, and my low back is all messed up. He addressed my concerns, applied gratin to my mid-back to low back. Adjusted my hips as well. It reset my uneven legs and made a lot of my pain go away. It is a definite step forward towards my pain management. I so appreciate the thorough care provided by Dr. Robert Anderson at 'Ohana Chiropractic Center. His clinical and interpersonal skills are both top-notch, meaning that he's a doc who knows his stuff but also remains human and compassionate. I especially appreciate his manner with my kids. I have to say Dr. Robert Anderson is one of the best Drs I've ever been to. He is thorough and asks lots of helpful questions. Dr. Anderson listens and truly hears your concerns. He doesn't simply throw medications and massage therapy at your problems, and he develops a realistic treatment plan. Dr Anderson is the best. I first saw him when I was pregnant in 2018. My hips were misaligned and causing me pain when I walked. His adjustments always made me feel immediately better. I had a huge baby (almost 9 pounds) and after I gave birth, i had some shoulder problems from carrying my big baby around. I had a great experience being treated by Dr. (Awesome) Poulain. I was suffering from a leg injury that I reaggravated and was in a lot of pain. Dr. Poulain was my primary Chiropractor and really made me feel comfortable during the entire process. I felt great after each session and was able to recover a lot faster than expected. I love this place! I went while I was pregnant during my third trimester when I was super uncomfortable and Dr. Robert helped me feel so much better. Fast forward to about 2 months after my son is born and we needed to find him some relief (he had crying fits, lots of gas and lip/tongue ties) and Dr. Robert helped my son as well. He slept better, had less gas and adjusted well to breastfeeding after his surgery for his ties. My son is now 8 months and I definitely will return to get him adjusted again as well as myself. The first thing you notice or feel when you walk into this center is how friendly everyone is. It's nice to be greeted with a smile when you're feeling any sort of pain. I specifically visited Dr. Robert for some upper back strain. What drew me to him (all the way down from the North Shore) is his approach that didn't involve loud cracking sounds on my neck, which has always freaked me out! Using this tool (which looks like a shoe horn), he was able to apply pressure where needed, and followed it up with some really good stretches that I could do at home. I was recently on vacation in Oahu and tweaked my lower back at the beach. I knew that if I didn't get an adjustment my back would eventually give out, which would have ruined my trip. I found Ohana Chiropractor Center on a google search and saw that they were close to where I was staying. I drove down to the office for a walk-in appointment. It was a Monday morning and I wasn't sure if I would be able to get an appointment. Dr. Poulain was on-duty, and after I explained my circumstances, he willingly fit me into to his already busy schedule. Dr. Poulain adjusted my back and I was able to enjoy the rest of my vacation. Dr. Poulain...what a great Doctor with a most pleasant demeanor. i went in with a hip problem, thought it was sciatica. I suffered for a few weeks, walked with a limp. Essential oils helped with the inflammation I think, but I needed more help, and not pills or a cortisone shot. Always afraid to seek the services of a chiropractor, I went out of desperation. What a great decision that was. Dr. Poulain made the whole process easy....did gentle stretches and when I walked out...no more pain and I was standing straight. I have gone to both Dr. Poulain and Dr. Anderson. They were both fantastic and personable. I am currently 7 months pregnant and have been experiencing severe lower back pain. I was initially disappointed in Dr. Anderson's non-invasive, gentle approach at first because I like to hear/feel everything being "worked out."
