He doesn't judge especially if you have fallen off the bandwagon with stretching and doing what he advised to get you back on track. If I have other requests he will check them out too. All you need to do is ask. I would recommend getting on a plan if you are not because having a regular alignment is needed and times. Office is really clean and he is really quick with the visit. He really wants to educate the patients so they are more aware of what's going on. He does take certain Health Insurances.

It was fascinating to learn about this practice, observe the outcomes patients experienced, and challenge the preconceived notions I had grown up with. However, I was still hesitant to try it myself, until last year, when I visited another office and discovered that my mobility wasn't great. While my initial experience began positively, it turned sour, and I ultimately stopped going. This year, I had the chance to meet Katie Gillum and Dr. Austin Blanchon at the Employment Law event hosted by the Honolulu Chamber of Commerce. This reignited my interest in chiropractic care. During the event, Dr. Austin was pre-screening participants, though I didn't participate at that point. Instead, I spoke with him later, where he shared insightful advice. Katie was a great listener, providing resources and addressing my hesitations in an encouraging in a non-pushy manner. By the end of the event, we spoke again, and I finally decided, "Okay, I'll schedule an appointment." Katie mentioned that Turning Point had multiple office locations, convenient for both my work-from-home days and my office-based workdays. Open seven days a week, the practice allowed me to choose appointment times that best suited my busy schedule. Additionally, I could select any chiropractor I preferred. Since Dr. Austin had been so professional and insightful, I chose his office in Kaimuki, a location convenient for my in-office days. During my first visit, he was calming and helpful, and x-rays were taken to develop a personalized care plan based on my specific needs. The process was seamless, with the helpful staff verifying and double-checking my insurance coverage early in the process. Now that my initial treatment plan has been completed, I appreciate having the flexibility to use my remaining visits as needed for ongoing treatments or adjustments. I already feel welcome to return whenever necessary. I referred my daughter, though she remains a bit nervous for now. I've also recommended Turning Point to others, hoping they take advantage of the ease of booking appointments and the gentle, professional approach that everyone in this practice provides. Paul clearly showed me where I was and where we wanted to be. After going to weekly appointments that included traction and adjustment, I was re-evaluated with another set of X-Rays. This time it showed improvement so I know we are on the right path to success. Pain down my legs has subsided (not completely gone yet) and I can stand for longer periods than before. My first appointment with Honolulu Pain Relief was made because of some pain in my neck that started bothering me right after I got sandwiched between 2 other vehicles while waiting at a stoplight. I never saw the rear driver coming and I was already at a standstill when I go hit so I most likely suffered from some bad whiplash after the event. My vehicle was totaled but I luckily got out of the accident alive with just some neck pain that was causing me really bad headaches. This happened back in 2017. They were able to get me in the next day and the driver that hit me had insurance which covered all the expenses. That initial appointment went really well. Dr. Smith greeted me and went over all the procedures that he wanted to do. I was given an assessment, my XRAY was taken, I got a chiropractor adjustment, STIMs therapy session, was given a home-use STIMs machine and got a massage all within that first week. Right after my first chiropractor session, the headaches went away and I felt like new but I still had some back pain so he had me schedule a chiropractor session every 2 weeks for a couple months. I loved all my appointments with him and his team. Even after the other driver's insurance no longer covered my appointments, I used my insurance with HMSA to keep coming back regularly since I got about 6 free chiropractic sessions per year. Although his location is in town and I live further away, I still made the effort to come visit while my insurance covered. His services and the way he treats his clients is sooo worth it! I love my chiro adjustments with Dr. Smith and always ask for him although there are other Chiro doctors in his office. He cracks my back like no other chiro has done. He perfected his technique and I always look forward to feeling my spine crack from one end to the other. I get so much relief right after especially because I also lift really heavy at the gym. Overtime, Dr. Smith improved his office space with more upgraded equipment and more beneficial therapy services. Besides everything I listed earlier, he equipped his office with multiple massage chairs, a wave therapy table that stretches out your back really well, more rooms and tables for privacy while receiving STIMs therapy, a stretch therapist to work with you before or after your chiro session and improved STIMS Laser equipment. My last appointment with him was back in November 2025 and I still received the same caring and thoughtful services he's always provided. I always recommend Honolulu Pain Relief when ever anyone asks me for suggestions for a chiropractor. He's my #1 pain relief doctor. I've gone to him for soo many years, he's practically like family. I have been seeing Dr. Garza for the past 23 years. From the time I was a toddler, I suffered from…read moremany different physical complications including allergies, severe incontinence, chronic urinary tract/bladder, kidney and ear infections as well as constipation from the endless daily antibiotics. My family had taken me to different doctors and another chiropractor regularly with no improvement for any of the problems I'd had. At 8 years old, my primary care physician had sent me to numerous specialists and after countless traumatizing and uncomfortable tests, they decided that I should have a catheter placed with a urine drainage bag attached for the incontinence. Fortunately, my family wanted a 100th opinion and that was when we started seeing Dr. Armando Garza. Within one week of treatment from him, my infections CLEARED and in two weeks I no longer had incontinence issues. He found that my pelvis was so far out of alignment that the nerves were not communicating to my brain that I had to drain my bladder, which was why I never felt the urge to go.  I was able to stop all antibiotics immediately and the only thing I've taken since for urinary tract health has been cranberry extract (CranActin).   Throughout the years, I continued to see Dr. Garza for all my health-related needs. He has helped me with carpal tunnel syndrome, excruciating menstrual cramps from PCOS, acid reflux and heartburn as well as neck and back pain. Just recently, my mother and I were in a car accident and both of us got bad whiplash. I went to see him right after the ER trip and I haven't suffered through any debilitating back and neck pain or headaches since.    With PCOS, it's typically a little more difficult to conceive and he helped me get my body functioning at as optimum of a level as possible. After two months of trying, in combination of Clomid (prescribed by my OBGYN) and chiropractic care, we got pregnant! I am currently 5 1/2 months along and I have sought regular chiropractic visits with Dr. Garza from day 1. I may be one of the fortunate ones, but I have not had any morning sickness and NO discomfort and I KNOW that that is due to his care and treatment. The only time I feel uncomfortable is when I let too much time pass between a good follow up... Hey! Babies and the extra blood volume gets heavy on your joints! Prenatal chiropractic care is a MUST! The first visit was a lot longer than the other visits just because he has to explain everything and go through everything. The spine is really interesting and he explains why things are happening the way it is and if there is something wrong with your spine. I told him I might has scoliosis and the only way to know for sure is to take an x-ray but he did say you can see it through the curvature of your back when I bend forward. I love how honest and true he is with you and that's what I appreciate the most. I love those chiropractor videos onlines so I always get a kick out of it when he cracks everything. Idk why, I just love it so much! Parking is free, he is located on the second floor so the only problem I see would be if patients have a hard time coming up the stairs. However that's not the case for me so everything is good. After your initial visit, the visit time will shorter and you'll just go to adjust the next and back and done. Definitely do recommend! I thought I could recover on my own with stretches and exercise, but after a couple of months I still had a dull pain and weakness in my lower back. It felt like every movement was going to aggravate it again. After just ONE visit the dull pain and discomfort was gone! I've been back 4 times now and after each visit I feel better and better. I've been to many chiropractors over the years (good and bad) and Dr. Jessica is the best I've ever had. She asks all the right questions, does thorough examinations to pinpoint the source of the discomfort, and gives you stretches and exercises to do to maintain the adjustment. After not getting adjusted for a few months I could feel how tense my body was and Dr. Nick could tell also. His technique is slightly different, but he sure knew what areas were giving me problems.
