Very happy I went here. The food was so fresh much different from the other places I've been to. I love that they mix and season everything well! Although I asked for my sauce on the side my rice still had plenty of flavor. The proportions are very reasonable. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I frequent Island Fin Poke for lunch since it's close to my university and fairly inexpensive. The service is always very friendly and often provides samples of the weekly dole whip flavor(s). Their rewards program is great for students and it's easy to rack up free bowls over time. The selection of sauces and toppings is great for the price, although sometimes the meat isn't the best quality. Island Fin is a go-to spot for me and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in the Worcester area. read more

I'm not sure why this place chose a different ordering format than practically every other Poke restaurant in the United States, but I specifically remember ordering being far more complicated than it needed to be, the staff was not helpful at all, and the cost was way over priced (least important item to me). For those who are health conscious (I do WW Purple, a huge bowl is only 4 points if you choose wisely). Price point is very good considering 1 specialty sushi roll elsewhere would cost more. I love poke, so yay to more poke options! Came here in the evening on opening day and the place had a decent crowd. While they only have one serving size option (3 scoops), they do have more protein options which include the standard tuna, salmon, chicken, shrimp and etc. BUT they also have spam and octopus! Cool. Something new and different which is a plus. Though I was a little sad to find that they didn't have a ginger based sauce which is my all time fave but they do have a avocado cream sauce which I enjoyed. Note: If you decide on the ponzu soy sauce, be cautious of the added amount because our bowls were a little heavy with it and towards the bottom of our bowls, everything was drenched and a little too salty & strong. Also, if you love avocado, masago and imitation crab like I do, be aware you'll have to pay extra as those are considered premium toppings and cost an additional $1 each. Now, another reason why I was excited to try Island was because they had Dole Whip. YASSSS. I got the twist which is both the pineapple and strawberry flavors. I have eaten here twice and both times were not good. 1) The store has a smell of old fish. 2) The food does not taste fresh. Both times I got tuna and salmon as my protein and both times they did not taste fresh. The tuna had a raw tuna taste (which I understand because it is raw tuna) but it had the mouth feel as cooked tuna. My friend got chicken as her protein and the chicken tasted like fish and it was very dry. 3) The last time I went my boyfriend and I got sick. Good portion amount for $15. Just moved to Worcester from Hawaii and was craving poke. The rice is a little dry, salmon and tuna is not very fresh but I don't expect much from Massachusetts. Salmon doesn't really taste like salmon but the spicy tuna is okay. The sides are good. read more

I suggest going inside to order versus through Yelp/GrubHub, it will be faster. I don't know if the preparer simply forgot to update the status of my order through GrubHub or if there is a system issue, but I watched my order sit on the shelf for over 30 minutes while GrubHub still said my order was being prepared. I got tired of waiting and went inside to check, yup the bag that was sitting there. After I left I then got an update that the order was ready for pickup.
