A Very Disappointing Experience with Bamboo Catering…read more This review is primarily about our experience with David Webb, the event coordinator for Bamboo Catering, who had been working with my daughter and her husband for approximately a year leading up to their wedding on August 16, 2026. My daughter put an incredible amount of time, effort, and love into planning her wedding. She made wedding favors, sent invitations to approximately 250 guests, and stayed in regular communication with David to make sure everything would go smoothly. With guests traveling from the mainland and internationally, this was an event that had been carefully planned for a very long time. Unfortunately, Hurricane LaLa was passing through the islands on the day of the wedding. The storm had been widely forecast, and we understood that weather conditions could potentially create challenges. However, what we did not expect was the lack of communication from our event coordinator. The day before the wedding, my daughter received a text from David reassuring her that the wedding was still on and that he would see them on Sunday, August 16, to open the facility early so she and her bridesmaids could arrive and get ready. What happened next was incredibly upsetting. The facility lost power, and the outage lasted throughout the day. Despite knowing there was no power, David did not contact my daughter to tell her not to come to the venue. As a result, her entire wedding party was dropped off at the venue early as planned, expecting to be able to enter, get ready, and begin preparations. David did not show up. He did not come to the venue to explain the situation, help them make arrangements, or even personally communicate with the wedding party. My daughter was left at the venue with her wedding party, not knowing what was happening. Even more upsetting, she was not offered a refund until approximately 1:30 p.m., just three hours before the scheduled 4:30 p.m. wedding. By that point, finding an alternative venue for 250 people seemed almost impossible. My daughter was crying and desperately trying to figure out what to do. When she called David, she pleaded where he was, but he quickly became very rude, scolded her about coming early when he told her to come the day before, and the conversation ended with him hanging up on her abruptly. As a mother, it was heartbreaking to watch my daughter experience what should have been one of the happiest days of her life turn into panic and uncertainty. Our entire family immediately rallied together and began calling restaurants and venues, desperately trying to find somewhere that could accommodate approximately 250 guests on extremely short notice. We had family and friends who had traveled from across the mainland and internationally for this wedding, and we were determined not to let the entire celebration be lost. Thankfully, Legends Restaurant at the Chinese Cultural Center heard about our situation and came to our rescue. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about Bamboo Catering. We understand that weather and power outages are sometimes beyond anyone's control. What was not beyond their control was communication and customer service. If there was a possibility that the facility could not be used, my daughter should have been notified immediately and given the opportunity to make a contingency plan instead of calling off the venue middle of the day knowing this morning that this venue couldn't work. When you are responsible for an event involving 250 people and have been working with a couple for an entire year, communication and compassion should be a priority--especially when something completely unexpected happens. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Bamboo Catering. The lack of communication, failure to provide assistance when it was desperately needed, and the way my daughter was treated during an extremely emotional and stressful situation were deeply disappointing. The way this situation was handled by Bamboo Catering and David Webb is something our family will never forget.

We had an extra large charcuterie box, a box of tea sandwiches, and garlic noodles. We chose the menu to cater to a kindergartner's taste, but the adult guests seemed to love the food as well.
