Island Gourmet was a regular spot for Filipino cuisine when I used to live in the area and I still stop by whenever I get a chance driving back from the Bay. It is located in a small plaza so there's ample parking. Although it is not a big place, it is clean and organized with plenty of tables and the food is BIG in authentic Filipino flavor. This spot offers buffet style serving a variety of Filipino food. You can order à la carte as well as their 1 item or 2 item plate specials. This visit I ordered a 2 item special with the 2 pcs veggie lumpia, monggo bean stew and half rice/half pancit. So delicious just like how my mom and dad used to cook Filipino food. For dessert, gotta get halo halo Lol Sooo good! They also sell some Filipino ice cream. There is a small butcher shop inside offering a few select fresh cut meat, along with fresh longoniza (Filipino sweet sausage). And a few doors down, they also have a small supermarket. Coming back from Lodi, we decided to go here again. We've been wanting to check out their other location, but this place was more convenient on the way home. As usual, there was a line of people and the line went quickly. The servers were efficient and friendly as always. The place had a a good amount of people dining in. We were lucky to find a table. I came for their Lechon kawali. My friend got menudo, rice, pancit, and longanisa. My Lechon was just as good as the first time I tried. My friends said their food was okay. They did like the menudo the most. Still would come back if in the area and in the mood for Filipino food. I still have other items I want to try. read more

Definitely my favorite local filipino spot. They always have good fresh food and the flavor is on point. Their prices are great and even their party trays are very competitive. Staff is very nice. Typical slow service that is prevalent in many Filipino restos, but I live locally, and so I either come early or in-between the main serving periods (lunch, dinner). Standouts! Dessert!!! From pastries to fried mochi balls on a stick, to melon drinks! Always delicious. NOT the best halo-halo around town, but not the worst either. Lechon Kawali is cooked up like mexican chicharrones (the full belly, not just skin) and is outstanding! I typically order 2 full slices and cut it up myself at home, or gorge on it in the car on the way back. I like the dinuguan and the pinakbet! Wow. I'm very impressed. I ordered pancit combo 2 items- beef steak and white fish $10. The beef steak stew is rich in favour, really tasty. Whole fried tilapia fish already had salt and it's delicious just eat it by itself. I also ordered halo halo with half mango and half ube ice cream. This dessert is incredible yummy lol. I absolutely will be back specific for this dessert itself. The sweet banana is also delicious. There is a sago dessert dish I wanted to try but they don't have it available, the guy helped me said they have it late afternoon on Friday, so I will be back for that. I've been coming here to get lumpia for parties for the last 5-6 years now. Most recently I came in on last Saturday morning the 9th and was able to get an order of 150 pieces for that night. The lumpia is fair priced, and tastes great, & is hot n fresh right when you pick it up. I went there last week to eat lunch. I ordered kare2. Usually this dish has brownish in color and usually pairs up with bagoong. The color was very pale and looks almost like a sinigang but I was so hungry so I give it a chance. I was so disappointed and will never come back to this place. They fulfilled my catering order so promptly and the presentation and packaging was great! It was also nice that they didn't require that the food be prepaid. I also didn't know they include the mang tomas with the lechon kawali order and extra sauce with the kaldereta so that was a great surprise! On my way to the Tracy library I saw the two storefronts for this place and I was curious. On the way back I made sure to stop (cross street is Lincoln- so it's busy here. Make sure you're in the correct lane to turn in!) The parking lot was super busy since it was near lunch, but we did find a spot. Just a note- the spaces seem very narrow. Weirdly small- so maybe leave the Ferrari at home unless you wanted dented doors. I went to the market and not the restaurant. I bought just about every baked good (spoiler, they were delicious). My son's favorite was the pan de sal, mine was the pan de coco and my daughter liked the ube rolls. I also bought ube cookies and butter cookies. Everything was delicious. They had some staples (like tapioca pearls in syrup) that I had been looking for everywhere- and some items I had never seen (like garbanzo beans in heavy syrup!) The produce was well priced and looked good so I got some of that, too. Many of the things I got are probably also at 99Ranch. Some people have mentioned the pricing- I did not think it was out of line, nor did I find service to be rude.
