We live close enough to walk here, and it's become a favorite. I like that they will substitute tofu in my favorite dish, Creamy Cavatapi." Their Mac & Cheese is excellent - the perfect comfort food on a dreary winter weekday. Our 11-year-old lives for their huge Rice-Krispy Bar. My husband loves their Spaetzle & Bratwurst. Had an excellent experience here during our recent day trip to Whidbey. The space felt clean, light and airy despite being relatively small. They had an awesome outdoor setup with tables in a grassy yard, and even had toys out for kids (or adults!) to play with. The fellow at the counter, maybe the owner? was super helpful, easygoing, and friendly. He helped us choose what to order and was even kind to our shy four-year-old, which was refreshing. Everything we ordered tasted delicious and super fresh! Loved the Thai yellow curry-- not spicy, but delicious and complex in flavor with a nice mixture of veggies and noodles. Our little one had the Mac n cheese, and it was super yummy and actually cheesy. Oftentimes I think homemade Mac n cheese comes across as just creamy, but this had really good flavor. We also got a couple of cookies to go, which was the perfect treat to enjoy on our ferry ride back to Mukilteo. Overall a great experience and I would love to go back. Highly recommend! read more

The island needed this place... Eclectic menu, fair prices, great food. We love the owners, Scott and Stef- they catered our wedding with Midnight Kitchen and we STILL get compliments about our wedding dinner. I had the crab mac and cheese- it was creamy and filling, and the white wine with it was lovely. My honey had the Singapore curry. We never had curry prepared like that, and it was pretty stellar. Loved the cozy homey atmosphere, food was spot on and staff was friendly and accommodating! The crab mac and cheese is perfection. This place is so yummy! I love how they have a wide range of noodles so that you can get all different flavors - perfect for a group. I got the Thai Yellow Curry noodles, which was mild and super flavorful. My friend got the Cavatapi, which has more Italian flavors, and my husband got a special that included a big rack of ribs, coleslaw, a corn muffin, and mac and cheese for just $20. Stopped here while waiting for the ferry back to Seattle and was surprised at how diverse the menu was. After ordering for the extended family (7 entrees across 4 adults and 4 baby/toddlers), we got to try just about every dish. The restaurant was clean and family friendly, and the patio looked really inviting for those traveling without kids as/or just wanting to be outside. Food came pretty promptly given how busy they were, but unfortunately we did not particularly enjoy them (best was mac and cheese). I'm rating this 3 stars bc everything else was wonderful and bc our family has pretty high standards for Asian food and we can be picky on Thai (yellow and green curry) and Japanese (ramen). Definitely better than the other options we saw on the island so overall worth a try. read more

Second review ever. I cook on the island. I can be a total snob. The value and understanding of the ways things should be cooked was perfect. The egg was still gooey, as its F'n supposed to be. The pork bell is supposed to be fatty, it had some char on the outside, it was tasty. I love what these folks have brought to us here. The price point! Holy crap. Inexpensive for what you get. Take Out WIN! We found Island Nosh on YELP while traveling down from Anacortes en route to our Air BnB in Clinton. We had spent a long day of whale watching with a toddler and couldn't fathom sitting and eating anywhere - but needed some comfort food that could be taken away. This did not disappoint! What a varied and eclectic menu -- but sure hit the spot. The Spätzle & Bratwurst were delicious and I was only sad I didn't order a double portion. Hubby had the Thai Yellow Curry which was easily devoured straight from the Chinese ToGo container it was packed in! Our 3 year old - a connoiseur of Mac & Cheese - thoroughly enjoyed their take on it (no crab - just Panko) and the Rice Krispie Treats for dessert were dense and chewy and delicious as well. We visit Island Nosh a couple of times a month. We love their Whidbey Bowl, with extra veggies and chicken. The food is fresh and tasty, but the menu is a little small. They make the best Phad Thai I've ever had, unfortunately it's a special and I can't get it very often! If it was a regular menu item we'd be there a lot more! Their staff is friendly and fast. This was my second time visiting Island Nosh and I will definitely return. The place itself is adorable, there are great tables available but I like the takeout option. For 10dollars I got curried noodles with fresh, crispy vegetables and BBQ pork served in a traditional Chinese takeout container. I love eating out of the container with the provided chopsticks! We tried out this new place in Clinton with optimism, but our first experience will be our last. Terrible location, over-priced, minimal parking, shared seating, mediocre food, fast food ambiance with restaurant prices and poor service. We ordered one ramen bowl to share; it had an inedible fat piece of meat, no real utensils to use (wooden spork, plastic spoons) and cost us $13 with tax! We left hungry and went home for a snack to supplement the sorry lunch. There is no value for your money here. Too bad, as South Whidbey could use a few more good restaurants/cafes. read more

Delicious! 8 people in our party including two little kids and EVERYONE in our party enjoyed their meals. We each got something different and every meal was flavorful and unique. Staff are very nice. The place has a nice setting. It offers more than 4 kinds of hot sauces on each table. People who like spicy will be happy about the variety of these hot sauces. We ordered 3 dishes and we waited for more than half hour to get these dishes. We ordered ramen, udon, and a noodle salad. Vegetables they put in ramen and udon are very different from other restaurants. They put savory sweet potatoes, chopped snap peas, mushrooms etc. I personally think it's wired to add these in ramen and udon. After trying these dishes, we also think they can reduce the sodium level of their sauces to 1/3 or 1/4 of the original. That's our experience. read more
