If you are Caribbean and you from Miami or Lauderdale please go somewhere else and save your money because this place is for people who don't know Island food. I stopped in here because I was in the plaza. First of all the atmosphere was atrocious. It was so dark in there and the lady didn't even greet me or anything. I got 1 beef patty and ting she charged me 5$ for the ring and 4 for the patty. Even though the menu had a completely different price. Then when I asked about it she said it's 5$ and she didn't know where I was looking because that's the price. As it standing right now I feel so sick after eating the patty and don't even want to try the ting. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I have tried this location twice and both times I found the meals to be sub par. The oxtail on both occasions was not tender and the portions were disappointing 3/4 pieces for a large plate is unacceptable. Even the large chicken dishes were less than the equivalent of a quarter leg chicken chopped. This is the first Jamaican restaurant I have ordered from where the portions are so small for a large dinner and the dishes are about 3-5$ more expensive than most other restaurants. The cabbage was bland and the presentation was poor. I will say the jerk chicken had good flavor but again the portion was less than what I would expect for a large plate, roughly about 4 pieces. I don't think I will visit again a third time because you do feel ripped off when you spend almost 70$ for 3 plates and the portions are so skimpy. read more

My son and I ordered the jerk chicken-me with 'food' (banana, dumplings, and yam) and him with rice and peas and cabbage. The rice and peas were dry without any gravy, the cabbage had no seasoning, and for my meal, the best part was the dumplings, banana, and yam. The Jerk Chicken was IMPECCABLY cooked, not dry or undercooked at all, but it was borderline flavorless. It SMELLED like jerk chicken should smell, but that was about it. My other son ordered the fish and chips. The fries were so greasy they were inedibly soggy. My wife ordered a large Stew Chicken. Hers was the best tasting chicken out of the bunch, and had a nice flavor that tasted as good as it smelled. Also impeccably cooked chicken, and although there was AGAIN no gravy, it was seasoned very well and had a very nice taste. But again, the rice and peas were dry, and the cabbage unseasoned. Ordered some Bammy and Plantains on the side. Growing up in NYC, I'm used to getting plantain from a multitude of different restaurants (Chinese food spots, Latin food restaurants, and West Indian restaurants), but I have NEVER had plantains as soggy as from this establishment. The bag that the bammy and plantains were in, although no liquid seemingly seeped out of either Styrofoam container that they were in, was STICKY with grease. The food here is amazing! I ordered the jerk chicken Rasta pasta and have been obsessed ever since. We also got the brown stew chicken with rice and peas. Everything was very flavorful and they have good sized portions. The service was great as well. The guy taking our order was friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. In a nice area. The restaurant is decorated in the theme of an island type restaurant. It was very clean. I ordered several items for take out for my family. they have several varieties of Jamaican style patties, but we chose the hot and mild beef patties. They were large, warm and delicious treats. We cut them into smaller pieces to use as appetizers. We also had the opportunity to sample the oxtail with rice and peas and the curried goat. Both dishes were well seasoned and the meat was very tender. They were accompanied by a side of steamed cabbage and sweet, ripe fried plantains. This is NOT a 4 star big fancy city restaurant.
