Gave this restaurant a one time try with my son and NEVER AGAIN!!! First issue....Dominican restaurant but most of the food is Puerto Rican. How do I know, was married to a PR for years. Nothing wrong with a Dominican place cooking PR food but just make sure that its executed well. My son ordered baccalaito and was shocked by the presentation....it was inside a red sauce. Well this dish is normally made with fried cod fish fritters. I ordered alcapurria....0 flavor in the beef, had a weired rectangle shape and it was darkly burned. Which let us know that this restaurant owner doesnt care about the food quality. Thank god that I only ordered the alcapurria and not a full plate. Wont be returning! read more

Place used to be 5 for me but after what was just experienced, I'll never do business with this place again. My daughter asked for 3-4 different items that is listed on their menu. Which were all denied out of being told they weren't offering any of those (sandwiches, salads) due to being too busy. Then were blindly charging an amount that does not match their online pricing. Even if they are not affiliated with DoorDash anymore for example, they should make sure it is completely removed and have an updated menu created if needed. If their prices have went up, it is at a restaurant rate when they are not a restaurant. When called out on this, the pricing was matched closer to what I manually tallied. I heard ownership has changed, making me question if that's why this experience took place vs very different experiences in the past. At that point, I used to constantly order lunch from here and do large catering orders for house parties of 50-80+ people. This created such a terrible taste, it will be the last time I order with them. I hope to see they do better and don't permanently ruin what was once so great. The food used to remind me of NY Bodega food. Now, no where near the same taste or quality. I'm so disappointed and upset I spent $$ on this. read more

It was our first time trying Dominican food and we weren't sure what to order, and the lovely woman at the counter provided us with samples of the stewed chicken, pork and beef, as well as the grilled plantains! Everything was DELICIOUS! This family owned restaurant deserves all of the recognition and recommendation! If you're not used to large portions, you could have both lunch and dinner for less than $20! Please go and give this place a shot! You will not be disappointed, I promise! read more

GOOD NEWS: YUMMY! Great Dominican food. Second visit. For a plate of rice and 2 proteins, it was $13. Their sides are so good too! The workers there are very sweet also. BAD NEWS: Everything is reasonably priced, but one thing I will say is to get a receipt and BE AWARE to check it. I noticed later, I was charged extra $10 for "open food." I had tipped them for takeout and kind of regret doing so after realizing it. With that $10 and the tip, I could've bought a whole another meal with tax and tip included...hope it was an accidental charge but don't want it happening to others, so just adding it here for others to be aware. read more

Ok so I was going to this place twice a week for the last year and while the last time I went was in April I went to this establishment on Wednesday & realized they're were new people in the building. This place is under NEW MANAGEMENT NOT THE SAME RECIPES NOT THE SAME COOK NOT THE SAME FOOD!!! The new owner is a SWEETHEART she let me taste the main dishes in the display case and the Conquito was amazing and while the meat is good THE RICE IS A NO GO FOR ME sorry I wanted Good Authentic Dominican food and while the meat in the front is good THAT RICE IS MISSING THE DOMINCAN it's bright orange like the chinese rice with absolutely NO FLAVOR and the pernil was DRY and not juicy smh. My husband and I are having an event this weekend so we drove and hour to El Sarten Latino to carter our event, we ended up ordering the picadera plate, mango and passion fruit juice to eat on our way back home to taste it and it was amazing. The best hour decision we ever made. Let's also talk about how amazing Wanda's (the owner) service was ! She gave us every detail of what was convenient for us for the type of event we are having. Omg! The stewed beef went so easly down my piehole. Everything I had made from scratch. Huge portion size but I still inhaled that entire plate of stewed beef and rice. Service was good the women were nice and the food is delicious asf. The stewed beef was flavorful and the potatoes and carrots were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were not mushy or overly soft, literally cooked perfectly. Rice and peas were on point also. The plantains were a lil dry but other than that A+++ read more

Located across the street from Kroger next to Pete's Caribbean is this new Latin restaurant. I went to this establishment on a weekday evening about 5:30 PM and I really wanted to like it because I'm from South Florida we're Latin restaurants are huge! I was hoping to get some café Con Leche it's such a small place though that the owner is trying to figure out where or even if she can put in the coffee machine. I was happy to see that it seems as if they're doing really good business for being there now I think about a month or so but I'm not sure. Unfortunately for me I may go one more time and try it again but they have some food ready made with a barrier and bar and wrapped etc. so I tried the beef with rice and beans. There was no spice in it or flavor whatsoever for me it was just really really bland and also I was missing the vegetables that usually you get with a Latin American plate. Usually it includes plantains and onions and vegetables and all I got was rice and beans and the beef. On a good note the beef was tender but it really lacked flavor so I waited until I got home and added some seasonings and some hot sauce. The price was a little steep I think it was about $12 with tax and definitely was not worth it whatsoever for me. I would probably go back to try a guava with cheese pastry or maybe get there cooked to order fried snapper but honestlyI'm not sure if this is a fit for me and my taste. The service was Excellent! I was greeted when I walked in smiled and hugged and welcomed to come back so in that regard I may give it another shot as it's obviously a small business owner and you want to support your small business owners but for me I need more flavor in my food and I would like to see some vegetables for those prices for sure. This overall as service was on point and they are a new small business I give them 3 stars. Hoping for some changes next visit though . That's just my two cents :-) read more

Amazing Dominican/Caribbean food!!! Had the rice and chicken and also the Cuban sandwiches were delicious! Staff very nice. They have the food you can pick from like the typical Caribbean restaurant but they also have a menu you can pick something from but they may have to make that from scratch so I recommend calling ahead. People hear me please! I am Latin and a good cook. I don't eat at latin places because they are never as good as my cooking. UNTIL NOW! this place opened in Nov 2020. My brother told me about it but I was not too excited about initially. Hubby and I stopped here to TRY it and were blown away. I had the rice/chicken stew and hubby had the rice/black beans/pork chops. It was all DELICIOUS. Oh I had fried plantains too. They were fried to perfection. Took my mom here on a cold day for lunch and we had the soup. Oh my! ... delicious! I give you my word: it was like eating at my grandmas Puertorican kitchen. You will not be disappointed. The establishment is very clean. Staff is super nice and the customer service is great! Will be a regular customer. They are closed Sundays and Mondays I think. Happy eating! This is a special place. It's Latin food but it's not Mexican. I had the empanadas, fried eggs and chicken bites, all a la carte. This stuff is made from scratch, like home-made. Everything was scrumptious and cooked perfectly. They give you a delicious sauce for dipping. I found the prices very reasonable as well. We are going to make this a regular spot for our business. I had it for lunch today and am already thinking about what I want for tomorrow. One thing to be mindful of, it takes a while for them to cook your order (like I said, made from scratch).
