I am disappointed with the service I received from the service department regarding a tire issue. When I called, I explained that I had a tire warranty but was unsure how the warranty process worked. The employee I spoke with was rude and appeared to be carrying on a separate conversation while I was speaking, causing me to repeat myself multiple times. I then asked if there were any appointments available that day. I was told no and that I would need to schedule an appointment. When I asked who I needed to schedule the appointment with, the employee replied, "With me." I then asked what the earliest available appointment was and was told Wednesday. When I stated that I was hoping for something sooner but would take Wednesday if necessary, the employee suddenly said, "Oh wait, wait, we have a Tuesday slot available." The interaction felt unprofessional, dismissive, and unhelpful. I would expect better customer service, especially when calling with questions about a warranty and scheduling service. I purchased a brand-new motorcycle from this dealership for approximately $19,000, and it developed a serious issue on my very first ride home with only 10 miles on the odometer. The motorcycle was returned to the dealership the very next day, and I was told the problem was due to either a factory defect or a dealership assembly issue--not something I caused. My motorcycle has now been sitting in their service department for over a month while I continue making loan payments through Yamaha Financial Services and paying for insurance on a motorcycle I haven't been able to ride. The most frustrating part is that every time I'm given an estimated completion date, it gets pushed back again. What was supposed to be a quick repair has turned into constant delays with no clear timeline or proactive communication. Communication has been disappointing. Instead of receiving regular updates, I've had to keep reaching out myself just to find out what's going on. For a customer who spent nearly $20,000 on a brand-new motorcycle, this level of service is unacceptable. This issue occurred on the very first ride home due to a problem that was confirmed to be either a factory defect or a dealership assembly issue. I did everything right as a customer, yet I've been left making loan and insurance payments on a motorcycle I haven't been able to enjoy. At this point, I've completely lost confidence in both this dealership and the motorcycle. I no longer want this bike and would rather work with a different Yamaha dealership. Went in today to buy a 4 person side by side. I looked at the ones outside. Nobody cave to talk to me. I went inside and walked around and nobody said anything or tried to help me. I went up to a salesman named Monty. I asked about the vehicles I had looked at. He gave me the prices. Nothing more. I mentioned one didn't have a windshield. He replied that would be more money. I was there to spend up to $40,000. I left. I told a friend who had went there and bought a side by side and he said he had the same experience. He recommended I go to Riverhead where there are 2 more stores that sell the same stuff. He said he went there and they were friendly and helpful. I Bought a new klR 650 there with Jason as the sales person who I spoke with before coming from Ct we agreed on a price with some small charges he said which he tried to ad 2k to the listed price. I recently purchased a Honda Goldwing from Island Powersports, and the whole experience from start to finish was flawless. Danny was the salesperson who dealt with me, and he was extremely pleasant to deal with. He arranged a test ride for me, and was super knowledgeable about the Honda Goldwing, even sharing a bunch of very interesting and little known Goldwing facts! The day I arrived to pick up the Bike, Tom and Danny took care of everything in a very professional and satisfying manner. They claim to have asked us 2 years ago if we "wanted the battery removed" which is untrue, they "write in their notes" "client wants battery removed". Supposedly when you pick up your jet ski they give you the battery which btw THEY NEVER DID!!! We haven't gone on the water for a while and decided to sell it, when I tried turning it on it wasn't working because obviously they took the battery out (NOT PER MY REQUEST).. Had a lot of time to look at used bikes when deciding to purchase another one. I have been to most dealerships on Long Island but this one I still had not been to. Went in and talked with Danny and ended up getting a great deal on a used bike that was a leftover with low mileage. They seem to sell a lot of watercraft because they are close to the water. They had some nice bikes there for sale which I sat on most of them. Lots of Metric makes and choices to choose from. Wow these people are horrible! Smile to your face and make promises, and once the credit is ran they play the crap out of you. I was interested in a bike they had for sale, agreed on the price they said and did no negotiating. Finance manager calls me back and says good news your approved but most of your payment will be interest. Who's starts off like that? Then she says I need to purchase warranty and gps to honor the deal. For a $3000 bike the warranty and gps amounted to almost 2k Does that even make sense? I said I don't want that, just the bike,taxes and dmv. Manager calls me back later and says good news we got you approved and don't have to worry about the warranty and gps, but we made a mistake and priced the bike wrong. So now they are trying to cover up for the loss. Bike was originally listed for $2,999 and I signed the buyers order for that prices including their fees and taxes. Now the bike was priced wrong and asking for more money? Why was my credit ran? These guys can't get the simple things down. Then the sales manager calls me and yells at me and says I'm a bad guy. The tech didn't want to rip through the machine and over charge us so instead they had a methodical process of testing. while it meant a few trips back and forth to the service department Mike in service did everything he could to get this handled as soon as possible even though they are insanely busy. Island Powersports, you're great at taking people's money, but your service is laughably bad. Not too sure why you even offer to do warranty work for manufacturers, because you often refuse to do so. Now that that's said, let's get into this review shall we? Let's go over the entire story of purchasing a brand new 2018 Seadoo from this dealership. Back in early 2019, I had purchased a leftover (still new in box, had not even been assembled yet) 2018 Seadoo. When I purchased the machine, the sales team assured me that in order to keep my Seadoo running strong and keep the motor healthy, to flush out the motor for 3 - 5 minutes with fresh water in order to get any salt or contaminants out. After the second flush, a check engine light came on and stayed on, as the exhaust was overheating. I called the dealer to ask about clearing the light, they told me this was an operators error, and would not clear the light for free, as diagnostic tools are not free. Yes, that's right, after following their instructions to a tee, my ski threw a check engine light, and they wanted shop rate to clear it. This ended up going away after the ski sat for a few days, but this was the beginning of the end. Continuing on, I put 5 hours on this machine, and another issue arose. The throttle was getting stuck, so when you would take fingers off the throttle to halt acceleration, it would get stuck in its last position, and would only get unstuck if you forced it. I brought it back only a few days later, too which they had the mechanic lubricate both the throttle and the throttle cable. I was assured by Mike (the man who runs the service desk) that if this issue came about again, as long as it was still under warranty they'd replace everything for me. This included the throttle itself, the throttle cable, and anything else that can cause this. I was fine with this answer, signed the paperwork, and left free of charge. I continued to ride the machine, and with only a few more hours being put on it, the throttle began sticking again. When I called the first time (July 2019), I was told by Mike, "I apologize, but our shop is swamped right now. We are currently doing rebuilds on the supercharged motors for the bigger skis, and do not have anymore warranty appointments. Call back around September, and we'll get you right in!" While I wasn't happy to be riding a defective jetski, I did not want to lose my riding season, and rode on. When I called back in September and spoke to Mike, I was told, "We are currently swamped right now. We just started winterizing all of the skis. Call back in December, we'll get you right in!" So, I winterized my ski, changed the oil, and had plans to call back in December. Well, what do you think happened in December when I called? "We're currently swamped right now. We're getting the snow mobiles and other snow accessories ready. Call back right before the season starts, and we'll get you right in!" This continued happening through spring when I called, as they claimed they were commissioning skis for the summer, the summer when I called, a few months ago when I called, and as recently as just last month (December 2020). I had decided no more phone calls, I was going in person. After 2 full seasons of being ignored, I was completely done with this. When I went to make an appointment, I heard the same story, just this time in person. When I complained, I was told by Mike, "If you are unsatisfied with our service, go somewhere else! Tons of other dealers that'll be happy to serve you." After going back and forth, Mike's manager Dave came in, and finally gave me an appointment for January 4th, 21'. Now, let's fast forward to January 4th. January 4th came, and I dropped my ski off. My ski had a maintenance light on for an oil change (as I do them myself), as well as this prominent throttle issue still. Mike assured me that this will be warranty repairs, and if god forbid they were not, he would call me before any work was done to see if I authorized the charges. January 5th they diagnosed the ski, and did the repair work without calling me. Mike called me January 6th to explain that this was not warranty work, as throttle cables sticking was wear and tear. They were going to charge me $65 to lubricate the throttle cable, and $65 shop minimum to go over the ski and make sure their was no issues with it before clearing the light. After back and forth arguing, they gave me the work for free as a warranty claim. They also tried charging me $50 as I was in my extended warranty period now, no longer regular warranty. What good is a warranty if the people who gave it to you will not honor it? While I can continue on, Yelp will not allow me to anymore. Moral of the story, go to a different dealership, and do not waste your money on any sort of extended warranty with these people! They will not give you an appointment, and not do the work! read more

The manager will be busy, and everyone will have selective memory. They change staff more often than I change socks. I was supposed to get the motorcycle's manual and all related documents at the time of purchase, but guess what, once I paid, the manager said they lost them and they'll order them for me from the mfg and mail to my house. That never happened, even after many calls and 2 visits to the dealership. The worst is the service department. Forget about warranty service! They'll keep your bike for weeks and feed you BS stories about delayed parts. As I ask around in different group chats and forums, I hear the same responses or even worse stories. Well friend of mine was looking for a used Motorcycle. We found one advertised on their website for 3999, then a $100 discount for Sam's club members. We went to look at the bike. All seemed OK, and then when we sat down to make a deal, it was 3999, +195 shipping, and 795 for prep, on a used bike!. I was ready to walk out, but my friend really wanted the bike. We talked them down to around 4100. My friend wanted the bike and he bought it. Book on the bike was around 4100 so we thought we got a decent deal. Then delivery came, we gave them 4 days to get the bike inspected and cleaned up after being on the showroom floor. We arrive to pick up the bike with a trailer, because it was cold out and we had a long ride home. The bike never left the floor. We were told that they can't inspect the bike before its paid for because of their accounting system. Sorry I don't believe that. Then while the bike is on the trailer, they come out with the license plate, and an inspection sticker for the bike. And put them both on the bike, while it's on the trailer. So I now believe this bike never even went through the shop. We get it home and my friend decides to take a maiden voyage and enjoy his new motorcycle, 3 miles in and the front tire looses all of the air in the tire. Call a tow truck and the dealer, mind you its 5 PM at this point on a Saturday. We get it back and we find the tire is leaking around the bead of the tire, no nails or punctures in the tire. During the week, they send a truck to pick up my friends bike and they take it back and put Bead sealant on the rim and fix it that way. We come back the following Saturday to pick it up and the Salesman will barley even speak to us. In conclusion, they wanted to change freight and prep on a used bike, and never did a proper NYS Safety inspection on the bike. Tom the sales manager is a snake in the grass. I will never send anyone there again, and will make sure everyone knows about this situation. They are the worst. Do not walk, but RUN away from this dealer! Illegal inspections are only the tip of the iceberg here. STAY AWAY, You have been warned! read more

My father and I were very interested in a very specific UTV. We went to Island Powersports because they had the specific UTV in stock and after driving 35 mins to the store, we were told it was at a warehouse and we were unable to see it. Understandable: I should have called to confirm availability. However, we left a large deposit on the UTV without even seeing it and expressed that we were serious buyers and it felt like they couldn't care less about that. The manager told me that because I'm a first responder he would "knock a few dollars off the price" and throw in a free helmet. Apparently, charging MSRP is knocking a few dollars off in his opinion. The free helmet became a figment of my imagination too because when I asked about it, I was told by a salesman that he would ask the manager and follow up with me the next day which never happened. We got the UTV we wanted but felt like it was an unenjoyable, impersonal experience to buy through them. Waste of time, I emailed them about a motorcycle I was interested in. I was contacted by Travis, who did nothing but waste my time for 2 and a 1/2 weeks. All I wanted was pictures and an out the door price. Every time I asked about an out the door price, he changed the subject to , come on in , and take a test ride. Twice he told me someone put a deposit on it, then 2 days later , he'd email me back and say the guys credit wasn't approved, it's still available, come on in to see it. Then he did same thing again a week later, I didn't believe him the first time , why try it again? It's like he just finished reading " How to sell used cars for dummy's" and was eager to apply what he learned. The last email he sent me, he told me there was no way he was giving an out the door price, without coming into his shop. I wish he would of said that the first email, so I could of stopped wasting my time. I was a serous buyer, if he would of just gave me a price, I might of shown up with a trailer, and cash in hand. It's not like I live across the street. I needed a bike, and I just wanted to get it done. Their loss not mine. I ended up buying a Dyna off of craig's list for $3,000 under Kelly Blue book price. Saved another $600 on the tax at DMV, by putting down I paid $200 for it on the bill of sale. Stay away from these clowns, if you're looking for a used bike, look for a private seller. When I got there I was told he had to run out but would be right back, they had me speak to a different salesman who could not take a deposit on anything. Well the original salesman came back and we ran some models of PCW's I decided which one I wanted. And was told to wait a few more minutes and someone could take a deposit, after waiting another 30 freekin minutes I had enough. They let a garenteed Sixteen Thousand Dollar sale walk out the door. Knowing full well that I was buying a used bike AS-IS, doesn't prevent the fact that I have been told that I cannot see a copy of the 125 point inspection that each used bike goes through before it is placed on the showroom floor. Being told that you have zero history from the previous owner isn't something to just go with on every bike that comes in with obvious signs of damage, damage that wasn't pictured or explained ever. Simply trying to now verify that their inspection matches, or at the very least contradicts what a dealer in VA has stated is a seemingly impossible task. While the dealership was willing to work above and beyond the normal operation procedure they have to sell a bike sight unseen, they fail to provide evidence to back up their claim of the bike being in a good working order. Hiding behind the fact that it was sold AS-IS isn't a valid excuse to refuse to show proof that the bike passes inspection without added funds after the fact from the customer. read more

I went here to get a new atv a 2023 yamaha grizzly to be exact. I wanted camo so it was understandable that i had to order one and it might take a few months. This was in early feburary. I explained to the salesman mitch that i wanted a winch installed and i was assured it would be. I also explained that i wanted to trade in my old atv as part of the deal and again i was assured no issues. As 2 months went on i checked in every once in a while and was finally told that my quad was delivered and needed to be assembled. I called back the next day and was told that my quad had not arrived. When i finally got a phone call saying that my quad was going to be ready i again was told that it was delayed the next day. This was in a text message they didnt even have the decency to call me. Finally the third time comes around and the quad is actully going to be ready so i show up with my old one for them to look at to trade in and the head sales guy tom has no idea that im supposed to trade it in and also has no idea that a winch is supposed to be installed on my new quad. Im then told that the parts for the winch are not currently in stock and are on back order. Two months have passed and i have mentioned it several times on the phone and nobody ordered my winch. I suggested to take a winch off another grizzly to rectify their mistake and tom proceeded to say to me "thats easy for you to say pal" and walked away angry that his guy made a mistake and didnt want to take the winch off the other bike and put it on mine because it would lose him time and money. He eventully agreed and i returned in a few hours to pick up my bike. I sat down with a different person named angel who gave me the price of my new quad and the recipt didnt have anything written on it about my trade in. Again for the 3rd time they had no idea what i was talking about and he had to go talk to someone about the trade in. I was shocked at the insulting price they offered me for my quad $1500. Kelly blue book trade in value was $2200. I then started to negotiate and was told that im demanding prices and its $1500 or nothing. So i suggested negotiating the price of the yamaha which was $14000 and again was told no thats the price. I was paying in full cash and was told cash isnt king anymore its the same price for everyone. Not being in a position to walk away i reluctently accepted the offer. I have since went on there website to find they are selling my old quad for $3000. Double the price of what they gave me for it. I was specifically told by tom that it wasnt worth that and they couldnt sell it for that price. So if you want to deal with unprofessionalism, bad attitudes, or havent gotten laid in a while come here and you will most definitely get fucked. read more

Bought a Jet Ski from them in May 2021. At the time of pick up the Ski was missing the sound system I paid for. I had borrowed a friend's truck to pick up the Ski and taken off work, so I didn't really have the option to wait for them to fix it and they assured me they could have someone sent out to add the sound system at a later date. After calling many times to get this scheduled I was finally able to get them to commit over a month later. They set up an appointment and promptly stood me up for it. After that I called and asked that they just refund me for the cost of the sound system. They said they would and it would go towards my financing. On the way home bike starts smoking and I notice gas is leaking from somewhere. When I get off the bike I notice my side cover is missing and my clutch cover is missing as well. I was told they'd pick the bike up after I call and complain. They changed their mind and tell me I have to get the bike back to them, bullshit!! I make them pick it up. They tell me everything must have been on the bike when it left but reluctantly agree to pay for the two missing parts. They find the fuel coupler was broken and fix it. Pick up the bike and notice that one of my spark plug covers is missing and they tell me they can't pay for everything missing on my bike. I take the loss causei i don't want to keep fighting with them. The bike is still idling low. I have never dealt with such an incompetent group in my life. I will never go back and subvert suggest you don't go. I should have listened to the record reviews but i thought, hey they are victory certified I'll try. My bad. I'll take the loss but never again. Omg this is one of the worse dealers in have ever been threw. I purchase new cars every 3 years in my life I have purchased 4 new campers I purchased 2 new jet skies and 2 new snowmobiles I also just purchased 2 brand new canam spyders. No I did not purchase my can am from island power sports because I went there and they only one they had was a burnt orange so I ended up purchasing the one I wanted from lake George. I started having a problem with with brake failure light coming up so I dropped my 2021 rt at island power sports to fix that problem "should be under warranty" and do an oil change. 800.00 dollars later ended up picking up my bike oil change was done and brake failure light coming in more n is then before. The only thing that came out of that dealership with me was a can am with a broken saddle bag brake light failure and lies all lies and 800 dollars less. David the service manager told me he don't want to fix the bike Any more because he's not getting paid for it but I paid him 800 dollars, I guess they were hopping to get me for more, he also told me he has mental issues because of the stress of the place and he does not need them stress. I am guessing if you have a job thats going to make your nuts you should probably see someone to help you, not ignore a brake light safety switch and send my wife down the road with such a potentially dangerous problem. The screwed up part was when we left our bike there for over a month they ran a buds report on the computer, and told us they didn't find any codes. Well I got a hold of the buds report and on the first line it showed a bad brake pressure switch. Now david is trying to claim we went some where cheaper to buy the spyder but they were the same exact price I just did not want burnt orange. Well they applied aggressively to may creditors Leaving me with too many hard inquiries bringing over all score down 22 pts. Killed my refi of my home. They applied for a Kawasaki​ credit card!!!!!! With out telling me. So looking at .05% more on my home loan. Thanks island power sports for killing my refinance of my home. I check before w my mortgage broker. As long as the inquiries where not excessive the bike would be now prob. They applied to 3 places. Killed me w hard inquiries. Put down almost 45% Stay away from their finance department. The guy wouldn't even allow me to finish my sentence and was shutting me down like a pro. Superb sales staff. Barely inside before a member of the sales team, Brandon, greeted me. I let him know that I was there for and he went to work. Didn't pull any shady sales moves and was motivated to get me out of there on 2 new wheels. There was no back and forth over price and the management team wanted him to make the sale. Finance laid out options and was willing to work with me, also supported me using an outside bank if it came down to it. The service department was quick to get my new bike ready to go and gave me info on the first due service.
