We stayed for a week in April 2025. The pluses: the caretaker (I think?) Dean and his wife are super nice and very welcoming and helpful. At $45 per night for a 37 ft MH it's a good deal. It is indeed right by the lake and the cays are on the opposite side. Great wildlife sightings including deer and geese and goslings !. The week we were there it was very quiet. The minuses: it's not well kept up. Weeds and overgrown grass everywhere. An otherwise nice view of the lake blocked by recycle bins and about 10 trash cans. At least one dog owner did not pick up after their pet so I picked up a fair amount of dog poop including one that sat in the concrete outside the laundry room for 3 days. The laundry room was surprisingly clean but some lowlife left a giant bag of their kitchen trash in the trash can. I don't think the park is looked after on a daily basis or this would have been picked up before I had to do it. As others have said this park is mostly occupied by older, unkempt RVs and motorhomes. Lots of trash everywhere tho maybe left by the day fishermen visiting the lake. Our outdoor space was very thorny so our dogs kept getting them stuck in their paws. Would not visit again. We would if it was maintained. read more

Talk about a disgusting place. I give it 15 stars. The ads that you see for this are glorified! The ads do not show the trash and broken-down trailers and RV's. This place is 90% occupied by people that live here all the time and they do not take care of this place. Do not believe the pictures that you see on Rover Pass or any other RV website. Stayed there this past weekend with my son. It was his first fishing trip to Clear Lake. Place is still run down and needs work. Sites are small, bathrooms while totally functional and clean need some spider web removal and general cleaning. Quiet hours, it any not enforced. We left a day early because of the loud mouths 7 site away that we could hear plain as day using the "F" word as every other word all day and night seemingly non stop. Hopefully they get a handle on policing the campground and put some work in it. would not take much to see huge improvements. read more

Island RV Park is a bit like an Oasis in the otherwise grungy reality that describes most lakeside resorts and parks in the Clearlake area. Island RV is situated at the entrance to a smallish island/peninsula, which makes for a unique setting with a canal on one side and the lake on the other. This fairly uncrowded and mostly unpaved park has spaces available hillside, canal side or lakeside. We've opted for canal side each of the two visits we've made as it's more sheltered from the wind that's common during midsummer months. There are on site bathroom shower facilities protected with a pass code and full sewer, water and electric hookups for all the slots I saw. I found an unprotected local wireless router, but it was spotty and there's no formal WiFi offered, although cell reception is decent. The site has two boat launches, one lakeside and one for the canal. There's a small beach by the lake launch and I found a nice lure that had washed up on shore. Island RV Park is walking distance to a gas and convenience store right on Highway 20, and a bit further down you'll find a bait and tackle shop as well as a proper grocery store. A full dock juts from the lake shore just outside the park, across a small bridge. It;s lighted at night and has a nearby boat launch, so lots of locals and tourists hang out along the shore at all hours. Rates are reasonable and there's no extra charge for dogs. People are generally conscious of cleaning up after and leashing their pets, although one large black dog did wander up to me while I was fishing in the canal. The fishing here is usually pretty good, even off the grass overlooking the canal or from the stony wall lakeside. I caught two 5-6lb. catfish during our latest three night stay. The time before, bluegill were plentiful in the canal. Lake fishing was best for bass and catfish this time, although crappie and carp are also staples. With the wind kicking up, it was just easier to fish the canal. Oddly, someone snatched our fish from the stringer we'd dropped in from the boat dock near the canal launch. No idea if the culprits were staying at the park, but it happened twice. My advice is to clean or release your fish right when you catch 'em. Management was very interested in our comments and seemed very eager to make our current and future visits satisfactory. For location and scenery, you can't beat this spot - scenic, a little off the beaten path, near conveniences and just a short drive to a Wal Mart off Old Highway 53, so getting your fishing license and cheap supplies is easy. We'll definitely be back. read more

I'm new to RVing. I'm retired and a full time RVer (meaning that I live in my trailer)! I've taken a couple of trips in the last 5 months racking up about 6000 miles. As a full time RVer, what's important to me may be different then what's important to a working person on vacation with your family. I value a friendly environment where the majority of the campers are also full timers. I like fellow campers who are willing to build lasting friendships. Island RV Park is just that type of place! Island RV Park has more than 40 spots, most of which are permanent residents. They have fewer than 10 spots available to short term campers, so reservations are highly recommended. They have 2 boat ramps and a dock where you can park your boat. They have a fish cleaning table with a scale to weigh your catch. The park is rudimentary...with a public laundry, restrooms with showers and a community center with a large screen TV and a commercial kitchen. Every camping spot has a picnic table. The owners, Jess and Susan, are very friendly and will have a community pot luck dinner around the holidays for all of the tenants. The park is quiet, although, on occasion campers with children spice up the environment. You can see Jess out, everyday, sprucing up the grounds! The road in to the RV park continue's past the park to private homes and a Mobile home park, but usually they travel at a reasonable speed on the shared access road. If a quiet park with friendly people is what you're looking for, then I highly recommend Island RV Park in Clearlake Oaks, CA. read more

Absolutely the nicest people and I could not have been happier with the park or the space I was given without a reservation. Apparently, RV parks close at 5pm in that area and I used Yelp to call Island RV Park! Lucky me! Right on the water and full hook ups. Highly recommend this park and I'll definitely stay there again! read more

My husband and I are relatively new to RVing. Island RV is the type of place we have come to love. Small, well kept, friendly staff with five or six sites right on the lake. We enjoyed a Friday night family movie under the stars and passed around popcorn. It's not fancy but it is cozy and just right. We are returning this year and hope to return again and again. read more

Price was great. Owner was a great host, and nice to talk with and cared about us. Yes, would stay there again. Nice view of the Lake.
